Hey there,
my girlfriend got an Wildfire yesterday.
But unfortunately it is a branded version (German provider 1&1)
and she would like to have a unbranded ROM.
But we've got some questions we hope you could answer.
1. Will she be able to get the official froyo by an "on-air"-update
with an unbranded rom?
2. She definitely wants her phone to be in german, so she needs a RUU WWE ROM, right?
3. Which apps, widgets and stuff is integrated into the RUU WWE ROMS?
4. Will she find less apps in market with a "self-unbranded" wildfire?
5. Does the Facebook and twitter connection to her contacts still work?
thanks
Hello,
if you only want a "stock" unbranded rom, you should use :
http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped...3.55.24H_3.35.19.25_release_151892_signed.exe
It includes all HTC Stuff, like the 1&1 Rom, also with German support.
She will find the same apps in market.
You have to root your phone before you can upgrade your phone with the exe above.
Also, you need a goldcard for upgrade. Search forum . There a some threads about debranding.
After Rooting you can make a full backup of your current rom & apps via nadroid.
Than you can flash your phone withe the goldcard. In case the settings and apps are lost, you can restore the apps & settings only via nadroid -> backup/restore -> advanced -> restore data only. Also , you can restore you 1&1 complete rom via nadroid.
Look here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864580
great thanks.
I already made a GoldCard and I'll try to flash the rom tonight.

Hello.
I want to change/upgrade my ROM to WM6. But I want to make a Backup of my existing from first (maybe I'm to stupid to do the Update) and to have the chance to get my MDA Vario back to life I want to make a backup of the ROM is installed at this time.
Could somebody maybe tell me how i can backup my ROM? And... How can I reinstall the ROM? I think it will be moved to the SD Card?
Thanks a lot.
You might want to try this then first:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305294
Thanks for this.
May problem is that I have a "very" new ROM installed (T-Mobile MDA Vario 2.21.2.8 GER). and I'm unable to complete the the CID unlock process (the Netlock is removed allready with the lokiwiz 3a.).
If I'm entering the Bootloader and open mtty I'm .not able to open the USB port.
Does it mean I need to downgrade?
Thanks Maik
There is a newer public T-Mobile ROM on the T-Mobile website: Version 2.26.2
You need to downgrade your ROM to custom 1.05 (check the WIKI page) in order to run lokwiz CID unlocker!
I tried the version 3 of lokwiz but the only one which worked properly on my MDA was the version .2b
How ever,
the CID lock should not effect the MTTY utility. This is an official HTC procedure and should work on any WIZ.
UPDATE:
I just saw that you're talking about a german ROM? The latest public german ROM is 3.3.8 (check the german T-Mobile site for that!). If you want to keep the older 2.21 you can find it at the Austrian T-Mobile site again after downgrading and unlocking your CID
I am running the german rom AKU3.3 myself - it is much nicier than previous versions and has already some WM6 features integrated.
Ok. So I need to downgrade my Device. to do the CID unlock.
Maybe the system firewall and some other settings are affecting the MTTY issue.
I checked the T-Mobile website for the newer German ROM version.
If I check https://after-sales-service.t-mobile.de/eg_online/t-mobile/t_mda_vario.htm (what my Device is) I only see the 2.21 version and NO newer version?
1.
Go to www.t-mobile.de
2.
Click on top on the menu "HILFE & FAQ"
3.
Select on that site "Broschüren & Software"
4.
Now click on the left site menu on "T-Mobile Software"
5.
It takes you to a new page and asks you for your MDA. Don't worry if your PDA is not in the list! Just choose any PDA. It will take you to a new page and show you the selected PDA. Right underneath you will see a link: "Model aendern" - click on that link and then chose as Manufacturer T-Mobile and you will find the MDA VARIO!
Sorry for being so complicate but the T-Mobile site is set up with Flash, so, you can't just copy the link! You always have to go the loooong way! Be aware that you have to temporarely allow popup's ... !
How ever,
I will try to paste the link here to the direct download and I hope it works:
http://www.t-mobile.de/downloads/t-mobile/ruu_vario_aku3.3_3822_382120_026911_tmo_de_ger_ship.zip
Hey the link works....
Thanks. I find out that my Device is a G4 device and I also see that I can't unCID this device... Right?
I'm a little bit in fear that something is going wrong during the Update to WM6 and I have no working Backup on my SD card.
Ok. So this steps I will do. Maybe you can currect me if I'm wrong.
1. I will perform a downgrade to the custom rom 1.05 and then I make a backup after running CID unlock.
2. I make a Backup with the MTTY
3. I will install the WM6
4. If not working I can backup from SD card and maybe install the newest ROM
You only should downgrade for CID unlocking your device! This is required for installing other ROMs than from your cell phone provider!
If you want to upgrade to the new german AKU3.3 from T-Mobile - that should work without CID unlock! You also should be able to downgrade to your existing ROM version in case you just dislike the new AKU3.3
BTW:
If you're planning to upgrade to a selfmade WM6 which you can find all over the web: I tried almost all of them! None was as stabile and good as the german T-Mobile AKU3.3! Sure, they look cute with their VISTA-style look but the functionality is far away from being perfect! Also: Lots of the ROMs are very user-personalized and contain no configuration for your network (such as GPRS and MMS) - my advice: stick to your provider ROMs, either AKU2 (which you're currently running) or the newer AKU3.3 from the link above - at least until you learnt flashing and registry hacking on your device!
WOW I allready can hack the Registry but having sometimes some issues with instructions here . Like I say before... I'm a little bit in fear...
Well, it is understandable! Noone wants to end up with a brick!
There is always a risk in flashing devices! I do it since years now and was unlucky only once by flashing a SIM locked ROM to a Motorola phone. Haven't had any problems since then. The best thing is READING and if you can't find answers just post your question. Next to it is always helpful to check also other Forums or try to find guides in your own mother tongue!
Hacking the registry is not really riskfully - at leat the only one thing what can happen is that your device won't start up and you might lose your files and data. Other than that you should be able in any case to get it running with a hard reset again by holding CON button and Voice Dial button at the same time and press Reset.
Flashing can destroy the device because of it actually erases everything in the device; even the ROM before it writes the new one. But even here you will be able to enter in BOOTLOADER mode in most cases.
Yeah thats right Junner. Reading and asking... Since I flashed my SDA wrong I'm happy to have a Backup on the SD card to get the Image back. If this is the case I'm happy.
I installed AKU 3.3 and it's looking good and working fine.
Maybe I will downgrade to the custom 1.05 and do a backup. I only want to look how the WM6 is looking.
Are you German? Or german speeking?
The ROM backup to SD card via MTTY should work without CID unlocking your device! There is no need to downgrade for that purpose. I had hard times by doing it too. It took me several trials until it worked finally!
The downgrade is only necessary if you're planning to install ROMs from other providers or ROMs in other languages. I asume you're german, so, if you don't believe anything I say - this you can believe: the german AKU3.3 is the best out there you can find for the WIZ
Like I mentioned earlier: all the WM6 ROMs you will find all over the web are user created! They are either taken off from other devices and changed around until they worked on the WIZ or just visual pepped up AKU3.3 ROMs (the one you installed now). Allthough, I did not find any WM6 out ther which did not have issues in one way or another ...
I speak a little bit german , yeah!
We have WURSTFEST here once a year with lots of Sauerkraut and beer ...
Mates, if I read my rom am i going to be able to copy it to pc and Dump it with a ROM Kitchen?
Hi,
I've just updated my Legend to the 2.03.403 version. So far i noticed that there's a new version of the quickoffice, improved performance and battery. Most Important multi-touch (pinch zoom)for Google maps!Has anybody figured out any new / additional feature beside what i mentioned ?
Without a garantueed method to root this update or a pre-rooted version I won't touch this even with a ten-foot pole.
Just convert your sdcard into goldcard. That's it. Launch the official RUU file...install it... and you're ready!
No, I was not talking about "How can I do this" but about the implications of that update.
There is no root-version of it for now, or is there?
The version is unrooted. Nothing will be rooted. You're using an original version with no changes... should be totally fine.
If you flash this to your rooted phone, you loose the rooting..
I didn't have rooted it. Just goldcard. And yes you loose the root.
this new firmare is out from today? WHere can I read my firmware version to check what version I have?

No OTA for now, you have to flash this like a normal rom, but you might need a Goldcard.
So:
Create Goldcard (It's somewhere on this forum)
Put the Goldcard in your phone
Turn on the phone
Connect your phone to your pc
Run the RUU from your pc and follow the steps
It should flash the new rom, but remember that you'll loose root!
If you haven't rooted, there is no problem
One change I've noticed is that I can now use the map background from Terra Time - it would not work before.
Now that I have installed this update does it mean that I can no longer root my phone?
Another change - I can now open up the full youtube site when tethered instead of getting palmed off to the mobile site.
Hi, Can anyone tell me if the new firmware has Cyrillic keyboard?
Nothing for Italy at this moment....

It has Russian keyboard, but it is hidden (at least, on my phone).
I had to set my locale to Russian with MoreLocale. This switches the entire UI to Russian unfortunately, but enables Russian in HTC IME.
Same was true for my original 1.xx ROM.
...
just updated on ger unbranded legend with win7 pro 64 bit without any problem... now testing ;-) ...
Is there swedish language included in this?
Is this ROM have English lang available on it? I bought my legend from india (1.32).
Will i be able to get OTA updates from HTC after flashing this ROM? I guess i ll also lose my warranty?
Please tell me as i want to flash this ROM desparately.
Hey, I'm a complete noob so expect this to be full of childish errors :L
So, I've got a few questions about de-branding my Wildfire
1, If I choose to debrand my phone would this mean i lose all the apps ive downloaded? And bookmarked network websites, for example 3UK gives you a link to its My3 page where you can view account details, would i still be able to access that?
2, If I did de-brand it would i be able to install Android 2.2 on it? I've seen that quite a few people have got it apparently and was just wondering how...
3, Is there an idiot proof guide out there to de-branding a wildfire? :L
Cheers
Hi ,
here are some answers :
1. Yes will you loose all apps and settings (+contacts +sms) if you upgrade your rom. BUT you can make a nadroid backup off all your custom apps and settings and restore them after upgrading.
2. 2.2 aka FROYO is not available until today. if it hit the market you will get it first via ota for an unbranded phone.
3. Look here at the forum -> Debrand htc wildfire - please help
Steps i done for unbranding & upgrade :
1. Root Wildfire with UNREVOKED3
2. Made NADROID Backup in Recovery-Mode
3. Made a Goldcard.
4. Flash HTC ROM from Shipped-Roms (in my place Version 1.25 WE , before 1.24 Vodafone)
5. Root Wildfire with UNREVOKED3 again
6. Restore DATA and SETTINGS (NADROID Advanced Restore -> Restore DATA)
For all steps you will find some detailed informations here at the forum.
Hmmm I see...
Apparently custom roms start getting easier to make when ota updates come out, if I was to use one if them would I still lose my stuff? My mate seems to have a new rom every other day for his hero and I don't think he loses any apps... So new questions lol,
Is there any easy ways to get a new rom? I've seen the wildpuzzle rom forum and it looks complicated as hell (bare in mind I have no experience in these matters lol)
And is there any way to back up all paid apps, normal apps, contacts and messages?
Cheers again
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Here new ROM for Mozart
http://www.filefactory.com/file/b48..._1.28.111.03_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50_RELEASE.exe
DO NOT TRY TO FLASH THIS ROM FOR ANY OTHER DEVICE EXCEPT MOZART!
Enjoy!
THNX a LOT!
Hopefully it fixes my problems with sending text messages.
Will I lose my data (mainly my SMSes) if I install this update?
//EDIT -> according to several forums, I will lose my data...
and I haven't found any solution to backup my SMSes - yeah -.-
Is there anything I should regard or be aware of before updating?
//EDIT -> I just tried updating my phone and don't know how. It boots in the bootloader (RGB-test with some data on the device, SPL, the SD card, ...) just fine but the RUU doesn't find it.
I'm trying to flash it from a Windows XP machine - is there anything I have to take care of before I can flash it?
Or is there a real step-by-step manual for total dummies (I've flashed my HTC Diamond several times before without problems and have got no clue, why the PC won't find my Mozart).
The update process cancels with a CONNECTION ERROR [260].
will the hspa work on it from the tmobile usa after flashing this rom???
Invalid vender id
I have
INVALID VENDER ID
T-Mobile
Is there already a solution?

nice greetings
Do you have the German T-Mobile version?
Mine flashed without any problems (after solving the driver problem...).
I have T-Mobile Austria.
but that this should be the same, right?
Greetings
Well, I'm not exactly sure.
However, if you think about the update failing with a wrong VENDOR ID - I guess it makes a difference.

are there any big noticable changes after flashing the new rom?
or is it just a minor security/stability update?
Be careful when uninstalling TMO apps
ROM is working very good, more fluent than stock version 1.25 - no problems found yet.
Still noticed the same problems with the stock ROM after uninstalling TMO shipped apps. When I uninstall Navigon the BING Map "Search" and "get directions" is gone/does not work anymore. When I remove "mediencenter" and plug in the headphones the phone is neither accepting nor able of making calls. However reflashing solves the problem - but you can't get rid of those TMO apps without losing functionality.

According to some other sites (just google the version number), this rom ships out with new devices. So no, it should not get you blocked, as it's a legit update.
Flashing is fairly easy: Backup everything you can, start you Mozart in Bootloader mode (pressing volume down while powering it on), plug it into your PC via USB, install the drivers if needed (done by installing Active Sync in XP, Windows Vista and newer should automatically find the needed drivers), start the updater and follow the instructions.
There is no official changelog, but several people think that the animations are smoother, the touchscreen reacts faster, ...
Seeing that there is no official changelog and the only thing we can do is assume what could have changed, I think there's no sense in discussing this. Especially since you can find several threads in other forums that discuss the changes in various lengths...
I haven't noticed any new problems after the update, so I guess it's at least as good as the previous version.
But this are just my thoughts

No you can't flash the HTC_Europe version, only the TMO_DE version.
TMO_DE stands for T-mobile Germany
HTC_Europe is the generic software for the non branded devices.
Doesn't make any difference except the useless apps you get from t-mobile.
But after you delete them everything is the same.
And for the record, You don't have to flash your phone at first... Installing new firmware IS flashing. so you just run the RUU and make sure zune is running and phone is running, not in stand-by.
And be sure to backup everything you want to keep, haven't flashed my mozart, but i think you lose all data when you flash it.
Sure someone else knows that.

Thanks for the answer!
I thought that I have to set the mozart in the bootloader mode, in order to flash. When I was telling it "flashing" I meant something like hspl like we had to do on the HD2, befor we could flash custom roms or htc roms on it.
edit: and is there any possibility to go back to: 1.25.2250.5 firmware (now installed on my phone)?
and last question this 1.28 version will not breake my warranty, right? It'S a normal t-mobile rom, isn't it?
Guys, I'm not sure I fully understand everything so far.
I basically have a Telstra (Australian) HTC 7 Mozart. From what I gather, I cannot flash this on my device until it is unbranded, is that correct?
hello to everyone.
I have a htc t-mobile mozart Germany but I live in Venezuela and I can assure you and proven DepNet.com for both 1.25 and 1.28
posted on this page to a friend Football and run to perfection
and also I can tell you that my phone came with 1.25 and the 1.28 istale him but then return to 1.25 and all is well.
and the echo for several times trying to place the Spanish language and if anyone can help I'd appreciate it forever
@ WinUser009:
HSPL was needed because we used to flash cooked (and therefore custom-made) ROMs, which were not signed by HTC or any other company able to sign them. These ROMs are unmodified and signed, which is why you can flash them without flashing any unlocked HSPL first.
Bootloader-mode is just a different mode to boot in - it does not need any changes to your phone!
I don't think that there is a possibility to go back to 1.25.xxx - but honestly why would you want to? But I have to admit that I have not yet tried it...
As to the warranty: that's a complicated matter...
This firmware is not official and my new Mozart (I got a new one after sending it in) still had the 1.25 firmware installed (someone posted that newer phones should ship with the 1.28). So there might be a person detecting that you flashed it yourself, if they keep sending out new phones with 1.25 preinstalled.
However, the phone I turned in had 1.28 flashed and I have not received any complaints when I sent it in for a replacement. So I guess it is up to your shop but it should not pose any problems!
@ameel
You can flash as soon as one of these things happen:
- custom roms are released that don't check for the carrier information
- you unlock your phone (somehow)
- Telstra releases an update
But as of now you can't flash these T-Mobile roms on your Mozart.
@minino405
Sorry, but I didn't understand your post. What did you try to tell / ask us?
I hope I could help you with some of your questions
I have a HTC Desire HD on UK Vodafone bought from Phones4U so am assuming its unlocked.
I want to use HTC sense 3.0 Rom but dont know what i need to do to the phone to install it.
I read on here and on Youtube about rooting. Is rooting a way of hacking the phone so that other Roms can be installed ?
Also do i need to do anything else before i do rooting ?
The phone is running HTC Sense 2.1 Andriod 2.3.3, i heard that i need to downgrade that to Froyo in order to root the phone. Is that Correct ? Gingerbread runs better then Froyo ?
If i do all the rooting/install new rom will i have to back up all apps/pics/music/contacts etc ? When i updated from Froyo to Gingerbread i didnt lose any of that.
If i decide to sell the phone at a later date i can do a restore so that its sold as stock software ?
I'm just off to bed and saw your message.
Rooting is like making yourself the administrator and you can do anything you want with the device including installing custom roms and software.
You should backup/save your original default rom.
You should use a program like APN Backup & Restore to backup your default carrier APN -which is the login and password etc. for your data connection. (Then you delete the custom rom apns and restore your own. This makes sure you continue to use the correct info and don't affect your billing, data charges etc.)
I recommend keeping pics and stuff on your SDCard where they should remain untouched. So use a program to backup all of that stuff.
You do need to downgrade. If you save the stock rom then you can restore it when you sell the phone. Make sure you save it as completely stock (after a reset or something) as opposed to saving it with other of your information.
I'm falling asleep (3:00 AM) - go visit my site http://grantbarker.com/htc-desire-hd.html
Look to the right - XDA Guides.
There should be enough info to help and inspire you too, with plenty of custom rom links etc.
If it helps you, please give me a Thanks if you have a Thanks button yet on your account.
See you.
