Anyone having issues with widgets loading in 2.3.3?
My twitter widget will not load. Even stranger, I cannot add any applications to any screen. Very odd.
I'm running on ADW. Is ADW the real issue?

another issue with 2.3.3
All my widgets disappeared and I had to place them back...

how did you get them back? a long press does nothing for me now!
hmmm. my widgets work just fine. long press also works. did you try a reboot?

Only problem I am having with 2.3.3 is the screen colors. It's terrible, definitely gotta get use to it..
Widgets work fine. Try a reboot or a battery pull.
Works fine here, using LauncherPro Plus.
I chose to clear the dalvik cache before rebooting, after applying the update. Perhaps that helped me?

Haven't used ADW in a long time but isn't there an option to lock your screens? Which in turn wouldn't allow you to modify anything.
Press menu and check that out.
no problem here. all widgets work fine and i didnt have to mess with them at all.
This happened to me today but I'm still on 2.3.2...

Rebooted and long pressed. I did have it lose them a couple more times though. It's fine now... I think.

I noticed that too, the call interface is gray or something, the color seems different. What were you referring to?

This. From the home screen you can also press:
Menu>Add
To add a widget.
Menu>More>Unlock Desktop
To unlock the home screen if locked.

The few widgets I use are working the same. Only problem I ran into was having to reinstall Swype.
Running on stock android.
Not sure how it got locked, but the unlock feature did the trick.
Thanks!

I have rooted (2.5.5 cwm) ec05 stock rom epic. I woke up this morning and noticed that the shortcuts to contacts phone and messaging are gone. All that remains the shortcut to get into apps. Almost like a custom rom. I did have frozen syndicate on there at one point but I odined back to stock. I looked all over and can't figure out how to restore these.

I think you mean on your launcher, right? Open your app drawer, select menu, select edit, drag and drop whichever you like onto your launcher bar.
Thanks mang! I feel stupid though.

Just wondering how I can remove messaging, phone, and camera from my girlfriends nook on cm7 running from sd card. I cant find the system apps bookmark like I can on any other phone/tablet

Answer.
To bring that back, you hold on the screen, tap on Launcher Actions, tab Open/close App Drawer, and there you go! Access to your apps, where you can delete them!
Thanks for the answer but I meant delete them permanently from the nook. The phone app just wastes battery and since you cant message and take pics she wants em gone

If you are rooted I would suggest installing TI (Titanium Backup-free) and freeze the app. Sometimes nuking out apps that have interdependency can create problems. Freezing the app in TI should accomplish what you desire safely.
I believe the phone app was proven to not use the battery?
Like cell standby and phone idle under battery use was false.
Oh thanks to the both of you ill do the titanium backup thing but does it remove it from the app drawer?

Gosh. Been a while since I froze an app. I don't believe so. But as it's frozen, unless you have a butt-load of apps and scrolling through them is an issue, it really shouldn't matter. IMO.
Well to me it doesnt matter but my girlfriend is just ocd enough to care lol

My wife is the same way, and was getting irritated that they were in her way. I ended up installing Go Launcher EX and then was able to create a Folder in the App Drawer called SYSAPPS. I put all the unwanted system apps in there and they were out of her way. Cleaned the app drawer up nicely. Not sure if another launcher will do that, but knew Go Launcher could. She likes it now.

Using LauncherPro, you can hide any app you want. Just go
"Preferences->General Settings->Hidden Apps", choose the ones you want to hide, tap "save" and they're out of your way.
No need to go through switching launchers. or creating new catalogs. if you freeze them with titanium backup, they will disappear from the app drawer.
Don't turn off google talk, even if you don't use it. google talk must be working in order for the market to function. some other apps, if they arent installed, will filter the availability of certain apps in the market, although I am not sure if that is effected by freezing or not.
On a side note, I have read the threads about the telephone and message apps supposedly not effecting battery life, and they do spins reasonable, but I an beginning to question if theyv are right. I definitely have processes related to unused phone apsa running on my nook using memory.
The android.telephony process is shown to be running in several running apps lists, and is using 2.3 MBA of ram. I am just starting to wonder, is all...
I use both methods mentioned previously. Organize my app drawer using Go Launcher and freeze, as well as backup apps with Titanium. It's also well worth the money if you like to try different roms or tinker but don't want to loose your apps or their data.

Or AntTek App Manager, free.
You can natively freeze them with ICS, in your app drawer (stock TW Launcher) drag the app icon to app info, and click disable
I removed them. No need to freeze if your plan on not using them. Free up internal space.

From your app drawer, click and hold on the program you want, and it should take you to your home screen....at the top you should see "App Info". Drag the app icon onto that and it'll display the info you need.

hrmm...maybe it's because I haven't had my morning tequila shot yet but I don't see any such app info icon when I do what you're saying. I go to the app drawer, click and hold an app, it takes me to the home screen, but there's nothing anywhere that says app info.
Could this be something that's not on the ATT version of the phone?
::edit:: ok...I'm an idiot. I found it....but it's at the bottom of the screen, not at the top.
I just disabled them except for samsung account which I use for Samsung Dive.

I had to uninstall updates and then disable became an option.
Using the app info method works great if you are not rooted.
In the event you are rooted, using TB is easier. both work without any issues for all listed apps in the op.
THANKS!:good:

Do you need to be rooted to do this?

No sir. You can do this with most of the pre-installed carrier software. I believe the option is "disable". When you see it you'll know what I mean. In fact it was the one thing that made me think that I wouldn't have to root my phone. Then I quickly got annoyed by the T-Mobile startup and shut down sounds. Can someone please tell T-Mobile to leave the standard start up and shut down sequence alone. I mean expect that from Verizon; Have you heard any of their phones start up? They're crazy obnoxious.
Great feature! You can also go to settings-applications-all and do or that way. Just uninstall updates and then you will have the disable button. Thanks for the top all.

S Suggest shows your popular apps.
I seem to have lost my screen rotation in all apps. The usual methods to get it working aren't. Any suggestions?

Freezing all of them does not mess up the rotation, it isn't until the app is uninstalled completely that it messes it up.

I think it's the SensorService 2.33 app. The one with the SHealth icon.

Yeah, I restored that apk to the priv-apps and that didn't fix my the problem. This afternoon I'm going to reflash and one-by-one delete my bloatware and see if I can find the source of the issue.
I'll report back.

I have a lot deleted already today and haven't tracked it down yet. The thing that makes it a pain is that you really need to reboot after each app for it to take effect. I've been deleting (moving them to a different folder) in batches of 5 to speed things up a little.
