Hi, I know it has been discussed and people said that MyTouch won't work with t-zones plan. Here's my question though...
I was using t-zones plan just fine on my HTC Touch Pro II (WinMo 6.5) phone with 3G speeds. My screen cracked, so I ordered a replacement online and borrowed a MyTouch from a friend to use until I get my Touch Pro II fixed. Just as other people described here on the forum, the data worked for a couple of hours and then gave me a message that I need to upgrade my data plan. I am not too upset, I can get by without data for a few days but the question is - am I locked from using my t-zones on my Touch Pro II WinMo phone too?
Thank you.

Hey,
My friend's phone has (free) Internet access. I doubt it's free but I know she doesn't have a data plan, and she claims she isn't getting any usage charges for accessing the Internet. She's had Cingular for a few years now. Do they offer pay-as-you-use Internet?
Anyway, I'm wondering if I could somehow establish a connection with her phone and then access the Internet. Possibly Bluetooth? I'm using the Wing (HTC Herald).
Generally phones that have BT can function as BT modem. The paring on your side should be pretty straight forward but setting up your friends phone (not a WM device right?) depends on its model.
Yeah I posted the message because I couldn't get it working. I thought I had everything set up correctly on my phone. I probably... I just have to set hers up correctly. She has a Nokia N75 - http://www.nseries.com/index.html#l=products,n75
Anyone have any experience with this?
Cingular does have pay as you go, it is very expensive like 1.5cents per k. This ads up in an awful hurry. If this is a new account for your friend, you should check online and see if she is racking up data usage. If so add a data plan before the billing cycle ends. Can be done through cs and they will make it retroactive.
N75 should work as a modem with the HTC Wing without a problem.
I rarely come up to see a data plan in US that have unlimited data access btw
Oh also btw, theres a simpler solution to just insert your friend's sim card into your T-mobile Wing (as long as its unlocked ). Cingular and T-mobile both use GSM anywayz (not like Sprint or Verizon using CDMA).
Hi All,
for about a month now, I have not been able to get H speeds for download on the T-Mobile UK network, I' flashed many roms, even got back to my Old WM6 room (k's rom) and still no High speed, it seems to me like it is a network problem but when taling to T-Mobile they say that everything is OK. is anyone else having these problems?
Go into start>settings>system>device information
what is the protocol version?

Hiya,
Just to let you know I'm replying to this thread on my laptop via T-Mobile UK, HSDPA on my Hermes...
I'm using a Schaps ROM (a full version but with TouchFlo turned off because it's a pig)...
Regards,
Rob.
Have T-Mobile got the HSDPA network coverage in the majority of places? I've only got it a few times and the same with a work colleague - only in certain places. Hasn't really bothered me but perhaps something to think about...
Oh I'm also using the Schap's latest ROM.

Do you use Internet Connection Sharing for this?

Are you on a contract with T-Mobile or Pay as you go?
The reason I ask is that I've been on Pay as you go with with T-Mobile for years! Last year I bought a 2nd hand Vario II off a friend who was on contract and had upgraded to a Vario III. Like you, I couldn't get H speeds with this phone no matter what I tried. My friend who'd had the phone before me had no problem getting H speeds with it... the only difference is that he was on a contract!
Later in the year I went on a P&O cruise around various european destinations and in several countries I managed to get H speeds, but once I got back in the UK I was again limited to 3G.
Anyway a couple of weeks ago I decided to change to one of their solo price plans and add the £7.50/month for internet use (It doesn't mention you can do this on their website, it only mentions it for flext and combi plans - but I asked them nicely and they gave it to me on solo )
Since then I've had H speeds practically all the time and it's not a different sim card either, I kept the same number and the same sim card - they just changed my account at their end.
So I reckon they don't let pay as you go users get HSDPA with a Hermes for some strange reason. Having said that my brother has a Sony-Ericsson WM890i on T-Mobile pay as you go, and he can get H's. Strange!
Hi guys ... Well I recently switched to Android for the first time .. I'm coming from Nokia's N900, which I used for a little over a year ..
I have had this $10 Unlimited Data Plan with T-Mobile ever since I got my N900, and it always worked out for that .. All I had to do was manually set the APN address in the N900 to internet2.voicestream.com ...
Then I recently got the HTC Desire Z, and for a week or so the default 3G settings worked, but now I'm always redirected to this page which says that I need to upgrade my subscription whenever I try to browse any page ... I tried the N900 trick of manually setting the APN to internet2.voicestream.com and still I'm asked the same question ...
Any solution to this other than doing the upgrade ? Can I continue to just roll on this $10 plan again like I used to ... ?
call them

desire z=G2? if so, then no, $10 plan doesn't work on it. in fact, all the T-Mobile branded androids won't work with it except behold2.

hi friends,
i am new to this forum, actually few day back i got this t-mobile sidekick lx 2009 and want internet to work on it...plzzz help me...also can somebody tell if it is possible to port some other OS on it
waiting for your answers..
The sidekick relied on servers from Danger.inc (bought by Microsoft and later shut down). Your sidekick CAN ONLY MAKE CALLS WITHOUT THOSE SERVERS RUNNING. Get rid of the Sidekick it's worthless. You cannot get an internet connection on it AND YOU NEVER WILL. Buy another phone. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

So I'm on the T-Mobile Pay As You Go plan as a Gold reward member. A few months ago I switched to the Samsung Exhibit II 4G because I was getting sick of my HTC Touch Pro2. My TP2 was a Sprint branded one that was unlocked and flashed with an unlocked radio that would let me use it on T-Mobile (the device is dual-mode CDMA/GSM). The weird thing is that I could access certain sites on that device, like the mobile version of Yahoo, that I can't access on my Exhibit II. Is it because T-Mobile recognizes my current device and is restricting access to it? It might be but I was also able to access the mobile version of Yahoo when I was toying around with an HTC HD2 (when it was running Android through MAGLDR). My plan shouldn't have any data at all but I can still access that site if I switch back to my TP2. Any one know what's going on?
Does it just flat out not load, or does it say you don't have a data connection?
It redirects me to a page saying I don't have data.

Hi, I think you have answered your own question. And that you found some kind of loophole. Obviously if you want data you should upgrade to a plan with data.
