what radio version are you running?
Whatever's default for the HD2. What version do I need? Can someone link to it?

^ Hey thanks a lot. Now it is working and you saved me hours of frustration!
i get 3G on the same rom using the radio 2.08.50.05
Radio is 2.10.50.26.
I'll try the apn thing in a bit.
Just noticed, the last octet of the proxy IP isn't valid. No octet in IP addressing starts with 0. Should I just put it in anyway?
Nevermind, saw the IP again like it should be.
So I hit Menu > Save but I don't see it in the "APNs" screen. Is this normal?
No its not normal. After you hit save on the apn screen it should return you to the "apn". This is because if there is more then 1 apn you'll be able to select it there. It actually the apn selection screen and you hit menu to add new apn.. and your right on the mms proxy ip it should end .050 ill edit the other post. Also keep in mind that sending and receiving mms in tmous can have tiny pics using a sense build. There is a fix for it in development. Haven't tried it cause I don't do a lot of mms, I just reboot to winmo to send them.

Hm well when I go to apn, what should I see? I hit the Windows key and I get a menu, aside from that I have a black screen labeled APN.
Nevermind, APN is there now. I'll let you know how it works when I get signal again. (No signal in my office).
Gets 3G, but no data connection. Followed the directions 100%. Argh!!!
Cycle airplane mode on then off and try again.. that is assuming u have a 3g icon in taskbar
sent from my desire hd2
I'll try that.
Says "H" which I think is HSPA, right? T-Mobile's "3.5G" or whatever...
Yeah... but the hd2 will only do 7.2 mb/sec.. and the h is actually hspa connection may not be hspa+. 3g is umts or whatever its called

I am on a T-Mobile contract, most connections seem to work okay but my Browser goes nowhere, just keep getting page unavailable, even for Google.co.uk
Any links in twitter or emails just fall down as well...
Can anyone part some advice on the settings to cure this, thanks in advance.
I had the same problem, although I am on O2 in the UK (not T-Mobile like you).
I found that the APN details used when the phone automatically sets up the O2 connection were incorrect.
i recommend you Google the correct settings and then set up a new APN (do not overwrite your existing one), then set the new one to be default and try again.
You might have to kill your browser (or restart your phone) for the changes to take effect.
This link talks you through the procedure but you will need to substitute the correct APN values for TMobile... http://mobileguide.o2.co.uk/devices/device.jsp?deviceId=651&tab=8&step=2&settingId=3203 the web page is for the original Desire but the process is the same for the Desire HD
I had the same problem last week. Apparently TMob's settings sometimes disappear. You need to re add the APN, the following should take you through it (note that all of the <dot>s below need to be replaced with . and <colon slash slash> with ://):

There should be a black screen, you then press the Menu button at the bottom of the screen (as in Home, Menu, Back and Search).

Yes I understand that, but when i press the menu button to setup a new APN nothing happens, I have restarted it and it still does the same thing.
Odd.
It worked for me. Sorry about that.
Got it, I had the option to select predefined networks...

So I selected Mobile World, pressed the 'menu' button and then I had the option to create a new APN, entered your setting and all works fine now, thanks for your help.

How can i get the market place terms of service to stop giving me errors? use wifi?
The password is "tm" without the quotes. I don't know who gave you those settings but they're crazy. There's a page on the support site that gives you the settings to use manually. Go to this link, click on the Manual Settings button and you'll see.

Out of interest, do you have the 3G/H symbol and all looks fine, but nothing actually loads? I've had that a bit this week, very annoying.

Perhaps accessing the Google Market is through a particular port that is not supported/allowed by your 3G provider.
For example I was recently in the UK and purchased a prepaid Vodafone SIM. I later found out that sending email through POP was not allowed by Voda.
I downloaded FroyoStone 3.2, and it doesnt have 3G? Or is there a way to enable it. I want to be able to use internet everywhere like i did on WinMo. On WinMo all i had to do is turn the data connection on and it worked as 3G. Whenever i try to go on the andriod marketplace or just on the internet it comes up with an error saying. "Attention! A network error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen." Any fix? Please and thank you.
Have you checked your APN setting?
It is entirely possible that you may have to set up your APN. Search the forum there are threads with all the details everywhere.

no 3G for me.. i have a sidekick plan, it worked fine with 3G
using froyo 2.2
once i updated to v3.2 froyostone
all i get is edge..
i tried alternatives.. adding apn settings
changing radios.
although i cant find a full hiptop internet settings write up online
all i could pull up is the apn address
im actually using the radio i had before.
between 2.2 and froyostone v3.2 theres a network settings change.
i might just go back to 2.2 and keep my 3G service working
im having the same problem any way to fix it. i cant get any data connection with it. but at least my calls work. on froyo 3.2. i have it installed using the sd card 16 gig. or is there a way i can get a perfect andriod for my hd2 where the sound in the voice calls work and my internet. i am super new at this and been trying all day BTW HAPPY NEW YEAR.
i am running 3.14 rom
nevermind i got it to work.
omg -thank you so much -i was on the brink of deleting this version of android -ty again -internet works perfectly now
I'm not totally sure where this should go. But I've been reading up quite a bit and decided to try out android on my hd2. What ive got is a HD2 Tmobile US 1024, I'm curently running FroyoStone Sense V3.2 from october17, im running HSPL, and radio 2.12.50.02_2, the issue I have is ive been thrue the apn settings, called up tmobile even and they had me input the apn settings epc.tmobile.com and i get nothing, i have working 3g internet, however its spotty, seams to drop connection alot, but when i get a mms i go to download and it fails every time no matter what i do. now tmobile when i called up tech support, they said i need to just switch to a android data plan, as its the same price i can switch back and forth as much as id like, and it would allow it to work.. however ive see people here be able to get it to work, but most say it works with a smartphone plan.. i'm woundering if somthing els has changed tmobile side that would make me have to switch or do i have to switch or am i missing something in settings entirly here? id just like to find an answer to resolve this issue thanks and sorry again if this is in the wrong location...
This is an EXTREMELY common problem, and the solution can be found by using the search function.
i'm not sure you get what im saying, ive done the whole settings with the mmc settings and proxy settings ect and cant get it to work fallowing the stuff here. failure to download message every time no matter what settings i use in the apn, wich is why i'm woundering wich is the official instructions, and or if i need to get the android data plan insted.

You do not need to use an Android data plan. I am using a T-Mobile US HD2 on the T-Mobile US network and can send/receive MMS just fine. My connection, like yours, is spotty but it DOES work. I personally use M-Deejay's Froyo HD v3.7. It's a Desire HD port. I use the 2.12.50.02_2 radio. I use the 3.14.531.0 (04666) WWE T-Mobile ROM as my base but my build is 23563(A personal unreleased ROM). I'm also using HardSPL3.
As far as WM ROM is concerned, I don't share my ROM. You could try any other WM ROM based off of the base ROM I mentioned above though and it should work just fine for you.
Best of luck!

I chatted online with T-Mobile support for hours and after the support tech resent several different sets of settings to our phones... magic ! i have read that our dns settins have to match the apn but i have no clue as to how the dns settings impact mms delivery. are iphones pre set to receive a certain size mms? any help would be appreciated.

I did what you recommend but still doesn't work. I have swap the phone fully with Task29 reinstall the android but still the same problem. Really i don't know what shall i do.
Anyway the protocoll WAP 2.0 i just didnt found.
I had the exact same problem, couldn't get a data connection on the O2 Pay & Go SIM, but here's how I fixed it.
1. Press the menu button > Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Acces Point Names
2. Press the menu button > New APN
3. Enter the following settings:
Name - O2 Pay & Go
APN - payandgo.o2.co.uk
Proxy - 193.113.200.195
Port - 8080
Username - payandgo
Password - password
Server - (Leave this blank, it should say "<Not set>")
MMSC - ht tp://m msc.mms.o2.co.uk (Take out the spaces, the spam filter prevents me from posting urls)
MMS proxy - 193.113.200.195
MMS port - 8080
MCC - (This should by default be set to "234", if it's not, set it to "234")
MNC - (This should by default be set to "10", if it's not, set it to "10")
Authentication type - PAP
APN type - Internet, MMS
APN protocall - (This should by default be set to "IPv4", if it's not, set it to "IPv4")
4. Press the menu button > Save
5. When you reach the previous menu (Acces Point Names), find the APN you just set up (O2 Pay & Go), and select it.
6. Wait a bit, and your connection should start to work
I got this information from an O2 Customer Support email (PM me and I can forward it to you), and it worked on my device, an HD2 running Typhoon's CM7, with an O2 Pay & Go SIM.

Thanks but i have received on this week 5 email from the o2 support department.
I have had this settings. Anyway i have got the solution for my problem. The problem was so banal: i have had an GPS bar!?!? on my account wich was blocking the acces to the o2 internet service. An o2 guru took off this from my account by online. It was just one clicking him but i was just suffering a whole week with this problem. I was at least 4 different o2 shop nobody could recognize this problem...
Really i don't know how could happend this but now the internet acces working fine on my android OS.
Well, that's good that you got it fixed.
