thank you very much for reply,i am gona give this a try now.
Also, If you do this and then find you have issues with Manila, simply remove the phone.dll from the tomtom EXT as well as the two BT ones.

hi i cant find these files in package.can you please look at attachment and tell me what i am doing wrong.thanks
sorry i have to remove exe file from zip because of size limit.
Sorry have to post and run as have a train to catch.
What I did was onvert the TomTom cab using Oskitchen. Whilst the cab created no issues for me, the EXT produced rom it did. First step was to remove the two BT files. I still had an issue and removing the phone.dll I think it was sorted it. If you dont have them in the EXT then fine - you dont need to remove them.
I will try and post my EXT at the weekend but I need to strip out my TomTom traffic and initial setup files for my user account etc, and am away from home.

Still not gonna have much time at home to sort this out, but if you have oskitchen, just find the TomTom cab for the HD2, (Mine works well on Rhodium because of the keyboard) and import it using the built in oskitchen tool. The only other thing I would do (in my case) is delete the two BT dlls and the Phone.dll. from the files folder.
Job done.

Try this.

Not my current package as that is a hybrid that contains personal stuff, but I did what I suggested and imported the cab to oskitchen and deleted the useless files.
Let me know if it sorts it out.

Hello there,
I was just wondering if someone is able to create a workable cab file for these dumped ROM files. I could not find any cabs already created.
Thanks so much for your time!!
vjgrace
Do those include the depended-upon files like the dlls and lnks? If not there's no point cabbing them up. It looks like they might just be the exe files for the games.
Funnily enough I was thinking of creating a cab for those games at some point so I can pop them onto any future 'light' or 'superclean' ROMs without having to cook them in from one of the available kitchens. But I haven't created a cab before so I'd need all the files that come with, i.e. the exes and lnks and any dlls. (I think that's all they use, about 8 or 10 files between them. I 'm doing other stuff just now but if noone's posted any cabs soon I'll make one.
Anyone who can save me the bother of finding out which files I need if they already know them (and even attaching them) would help of course!
http://rapidshare.com/files/44476493/WM6_Games.zip
Cheers fella.
Dunno why but the exe and one dll in there are zero-byte files for some reason, but I'll assume the list is full and get them from my own rom here.
Now we'll see how long it'll take me to learn to make cab files from a standing start. This could be either hours or days. Don't hold your breath..
Thanks for your help!!
Thanks chunkymonkey for your effort in creating the cabs and thanks Mike Parsons for your contribution for the files. It looks like when I dumped my original files I did not have the "hide system files information" unticked.
Your help is much appreciated.

Here's version 1.
You need to create your own shortcuts.
Solitaire works great!
Thanks chunkymonkey that was quick!!
Solitaire works great but bubble breaker kicks an error SHCreateMenuBar Failed...Cannot open Bubble breaker resource file.
Thanks again for your efforts!
vjgrace
Righto. I'll let you know if I get that sorted.
vjgrace - can you (or anyone) search you PPC for softkb.dll pls?
Not inc on this Satin ROM and I don't want to have to flash a new ROM just to get the dll file and then flash back.
Ta. (Otherwise this'll have to wait for when I next do flash ROM - most likely when Faria brings new one out)
You got it!
Hello chunkymonkey,
Right now I am in the process of redumping the recently released dopod wwe and hopefully it will be in there.
And here it is...
Thanks again,
vjgrace
Ta. Bear with me.
Ah, no, I've got that package file, do you have the dll itself kicking about anywhere, perhaps on your ppc?
(DISREGARD above - I didn't look properly in the zip, sorry)
Try this one.
Should work and have shortcuts, but they're not correct shortcuts, i.e. going into Programs instead of Games in Start Menu. Also BubbleBreaker has no space between the words.
Sorry I can't test them for you but games are already burned into the ROM I'm using.
V3 - took the shortcuts back out and added the correct ones as a separate cab.
I need to get the shortcuts to install properly. Just needs me to work out inserting srtuff into the xml file of 'Games.cab' but not from the other one. I don't know xml as you can no doubt tell.
For now though, these 2 should make the Games folder the same as presinstalled ones, including the games folder icon for the start menu.
Uness someone who can test it tells me different.
Great Work and Effort!!
Hello chunkymonkey,
Boy you are on the ball!! Solitaire is working like a champ but the bubble breaker still gives me the same error, it very well may be something on my end because I have installed the Dopod Lite version by edhaas (great slim version) and it is a very clean/light version may be missing some files in the ROM, I don't know.
You definitely have given me the inspiration to pursue this further, attempting to create the cabs on my own...You have created a workable game from start to finish without having created a cab before, so THANK YOU!!
On a side note, the shortcuts are not working, the game folder is created but the shortcuts are dead, but thanks anyway.
Once again..thanks for your time,
vjgrace

There ya go, guys. I know this thread is old, but whatever. That one works fine.
I think this FM Radio is improved as far as reception concerned. Less interference noticed overall. Back up the current library (just in case you don't like this one) from the Windows directory and replace it with the files in the zip.
Where does it come from ?

use total commander or resco explorer. Either will over-write the libraries.
It would be great to make a cab file out of it. Could anybody help with it?

That depends - what are all the needed Registry entries ? It's simple enough to have all the files in the zip CAB'd to install in \Windows, but are there Registry entries needed beyond these ?
i tried it yesterday.Copy all files in Windows folder with resco, check version and see version number is ok.I listened to radio all night and havent a problem

This library is complete. You can unzip it to the storage card, tap on the FM Radio.exe and it will work. I believe we need a cab maker. That type of program writes everything into the registry during the installation.
Thanks. I will try this one tonight ... ;-)

The PDAViet rom also has version 1211.721 which also has better reception than the one on the stock rom. Now I can use my favourite headset which had poor reception, maybe due to shorter length than some crappy one I had

Doesn't work on my Cruise. Stock ROM. The App doesn't want to start.
Neither the cab not the zip works. I thought that my sprite backup would have the original Files from the rom,it does not. Does anyone have the stock radio files to get my radio working again?
TIA!
EDIT: It looks like I have lost the ability to launch the radio app. At this point, I really don't want to do a hard reset. Don't apply this update unless you are willing to lose this function.

What application doesn't start?
The CAB can only be installed if you turn certification off.
I don't know if this is possible with all stock ROMs.

Yes, I know that - it was the point of my post.
But what I asked is: "Are there any other Registry entries that need updating ?"
The answer seems to be - apparently not, since another post reported it as working by just copying the unzipped files into \Windows ... but other posts reported this as not working.
Generating a CAB is easy of course, making sure it actually works may be harder.

The FM Radio I posted is better than the PDAViet's one. I have less interference or static after I upgraded to it. I am on PDAViets's 06 build and I get a clear and crisp signal off the stations I had the crappy static with the original build.
And YES, you got to have the security policies changed in order to overwrite some files in the Windows directory. Search for the SDA Application unlocker. That should fix the problem with upgrading.
In my first post I mentioned about backing up the original files. If you happened to fail doing so, try to find Dutty's FM Radio cab.
Thank you!

Hi Okokur,
I tried to run FreePadSettings.exe on my HD2, but couldn't find a way to make it work.
- OEM.zip is corrupted : I could not extract the entire archive (don't think it would solve my problem, but who knows ?)
- I put in the same folder FreePadSettings.exe, the .mui, and the .cpl, added tg01w.dll and CommonRegistry.dll and Utility.dll, and then I got the message : Can't find PInvoke DLL "Utility.dll"
- I placed Utility.dll in Windows folder, but I got the same result
Don't know what to do next ....
By the way, are you sure it is this exe that launch the PAD ? Its name makes me think of a config utility ...
hello,
yes, you are true. its the config-tool.
the reason is, on toshiba you need to push/pull a special-toshiba key
(known as zoombar for ie8).
i try and try and try and i could minimize to this package.
http://rapidshare.com/files/361242527/PACKAGE_TF_testflex.7z
but i have error. it askeds for utility.dll, the utility.dll was inside.
and i see many security-questions inside the dll's.
:-(
any update to this? would be sweet to have the d-pad working on my tp2 too...
thanks
Does anybody knows how to not cook-in Internet Explorer & Pocket Outlook?
Deleting the SYS packages let the Rom doesn't boot:
-BROWSING
-Browsing_DPI_192
-Browsing_Lang_0409
-BROWSINGCORE
-browsingie
-browsingie_LANG_0409
Anybody knows a successful way? Perhaps with a Dummy-Package?
Nope, just delete the IE shortcut, and use opera or something else as your default browser.
I've heard you have issues with IE removed-things like .htm files can no longer be read.
only those can be removed

yes, I can confirm that it works. I had an issue with my primary kitchen (Rom image error while flashing if I didn't cooked these packages).
After using my older backup kitchen it works flawless. BUT: IE still exists... but(2): never mind, because the image its more than 2 MB lighter... now I am with my kitchen at around 102MB including Manila.
Any other hints are welcome!

IE is not recommended to completely remove...
You can compress many files with UPX as example the files in the Office folder or in MediaOS the 2 dll files (wma9prodecoder.dll,wmv9decoder.dll) for save space.
Pocket Outlook as i think necessary to work with contacts and other data base like native engine.
Guys, browsingie and it's lang can be deleted easily - it's just a new interface of IE. When you delete them - you will just get old IE interface. It's also useful in that case to replace browsres.XX.dll for one from 6.1 to save space.
Pocket Outlook... hmmm... For the record - user interface of Pocket Outlook is application called Contacts. So deleting Pocket Outlook you will delete Contacts. If you don't need them - ok - go ahead
One more thing - deleting browsingie you should also delete Widgets - they won't work.
Never try to delete IE by itself - all the GUI things are htm resources inside dlls and muis. Deleting IE you will loose your GUI - it means you will obtain non-bootable rom.
P.S. Actually the topic name sounds .... let's say - rather strange.
Thank you for these really useful hints!!!
I am using a browsres.192.dll from an extracted WM6.1 custom Rom from Onkolog (Blackstone Cooking legend of lean Roms) -> see attachement
Also tried UPX-compression some exe: (Office, Camera,...)

I also want to move
Internet Explorer

pictures & video
Phone
Internet sharing
Remote Desktop
but I cant find where I edit them so they move I have managed to organise everything else into folders and create my own folders, Also I have a few icons for twitter and calender etc that take me to the manila tab,how can i delete the shortcuts??
any help or links I would appreciate so much, thank you in advance people.
p.s. I am searching also
EDIT cookies home tab sorted thanks to Crazyc
Did you remember to remove the Manila_full.xml or whatever from package? And is your cookie package being processed after Manila?
I am using an earlier version of Cookie (1.6.1) with Manila 2012 to keep the memory footprint small on my Rhodium, but the latest one converted fine as well AFAIK.
yeah I removed manila_full.xml, after manila ?? how do you do that? would i rename it so its after manila does it work that way? sorry for my ignorance
In my kitchen, when building, it runs SYS, then OEM, then EXt packages.
Within EXt it runs Leo packages, then Rhodium packages, then zzCustom ones. As the CHT packages are in the last one, I assume it overwrites any Manila files it needs to from an earlier package within the Rhodium stuff.

I imported the cab and created a ext and just called it zzzzcht so it went last and worked well thanks man now to sort the rest out lol
Glad to have helped.
The other issues are (IIRC) about locating where the shotcuts are being moved within the app.dats or initflashfiles? (Or in the provxmls)
I thought I read somewhere about adding a provxml that ran on first boot to move /edit where shortcuts went.
Can't really help here as made a screwup with my own rom the other day and am trying to see if my fixed one is stable enough now - so no flashing for a few days!
Incidentally, If you are still using Manila 2012 instead of the new stuff, I found I could add HTC Messaging 1.8 (the 2015 version) to it with no problems. I tried the cab, and then cooked it in using the kicthen converter (as a zz package)
EDIT : Actually, not sure if the 1.8 messaging client is causing me a problem. might have to revert.
