[Q] Rooting, tips.:!

Hello,
I have got a HTC Tattoo (Un-rooted) with The HTC standard rom.
And i wants to ask som Questions to you guys!
1. i got This Error when i tested the 1 click root and what should i do??
2. What i a Recovery imagine like "RA-Tattoo-v1.6.2" and why does i need one??
3. Im a Norwegian and i wants a FroYo ROM with Norwegian language, has "[ROM] SP-FroYo v1.6" that?
4. What can go wrong with the rooting has anyone lost their tattoo??
5. Gold card?? My phone is not operator locked, does i need one then?
6. how to test about the goldcard is working??
7. Is live wallpaper working in 2.2 Rom's For Tattoo?
Thanks! (srry bad english)
1. have you enabled usb debugging on your device? Have you installed the Android SDK?
2. You need a recovery to install new roms and make backups of your complete system with all your settings and apps.
3. I think you can install morelocale on that rom. So yes it should be possible. But you should know that not everything is working on 2.2 and 2.1 roms. The most important thing is the camera that is not yet functioning. But there are many custom 1.6 roms where anything is working and which have some advantages compared to stock.
4. I don't think there is much that could go wrong with this rooting script if follow the introductions. Later when you flash new roms you should always make a Nandroid-Backup in your recovery. You never know if there are problems with the new rom. You go to recovery by shutting down your phone and then push home and power button till recovery menu appears. Unless you flash a new radio you can't brick your phone.
5. You don't need one.
7. I think it is but I never tried out by myself.

Yes there is a recovery in it. You mean Simlocked or what kind of locked. If yes put a Simcard of an other provider in your phone and you will see it. If you didn't buy at a provider's shop it's probably not simlocked.
I know the camera is not that good and not even comparable to your real camera. But there are several apps that use the camera like reality browsers, barcode scanners, google shopper and goggles. But if you think you don't need that and if you don't need HTC Sense the rom you mentioned is surely a good choice. If you want guides go to the unlockr.com
Thanks Man!

[Q] Kexec and openiboot bypass dx bootloader?!?!?

Been reading and I have seen video on a dual boot bootloader called openiboot. I have also read about a tool or method called kexec which boots under original boot on a locked device and the forces a second boot which kicks out original programming to allow booting into something else. Is this method possible on droid x the get around locked bootloader. I know it would make rebooting take longer but honestly I don't reboot my phone that often once I have it set the way I want.
There's been a few people who tried kexec, but from my understanding they can get it to boot, but can't get the radio to work.
I'd rather have a new kernal than the radio I don't use
The phone is a radio...no radio means no phone and no data. Just an FYI...
The HTC Eris has a dual rom. It requires multiple sd card partitions. Once flashed a 2.1 rom runs from the phone and a 2.2 rom runs from various ext2 partitons on the sd card. You use scripts in gscript lite (free market app) to boot back and forth between the roms. Maybe someone can apply this to the X somehow.

[Q]Nand and other OS like WP7

Now that Nand is out for Android/HTC 2, I have a few questions. Right now my Android build running off sim card works perfectly so I'm debating Nand.
1. With the Nand bootloader, will we eventually be able to use it to run Windows Phone 7 if it gets ported. Basically I'm curious if by installing Android on the Nand if we are losing the ability to run other OSes
2. Can we ever go back to the stock HTC rom once we install android nand? I'm sure your wondering why in the world would I want to do that, but its a nice safeguard to always be able to go back to the rom you got the phone with.
3. What is the closest Nand build you think to the Froyostone Desire rom sim build?
Thanks
When you flash oryginal HTC rom with RUU you delete android nand all magldr...
So you can back to stock rom whenever you want...
Task29 removes Magldr and android so that you can flash any rom you wish

Under my expirience with kaisers, NAND can be partitioned, and magdlr theoretically can make and load multiple partitions, cotulla mentioned it:
"Future developerment:
*planned to add Haret's startup.txt support for Android SD
*planned to add support of Android boot images (zImage + initrd.gz in raw file)
*fast boot support (?)
*support of fixed partitions layout with ability to reflash any partition
*WM65 NAND boot with any rom (?)
*WM65 NAND boot with special designed roms for MAGLDR boot.
*support of WPH NAND boot"
Thanks for your replies, I think I'm going to wait a few weeks as the roms get updated (I know I've seen alot of g sensor forum posts) I think its exciting we finally have this option and that we can still go back to stock if necessary.

[Q] HTC PRO.THREE aka HD2/Leo

Hi
I have become a HTC PRO.THREE today (Prototyp of HD2).
I must install Android on this device. I tried to flash MAGLDR and this stil not works!
Does somebody know how i could run ANdroid on it?
Thanks for answers!
the main question, is it possible to run Android on it?
I know the SD version of Android wouldn't work on a Pro Three, so I'm guessing the same stands for the NAND version.
It is only a guess though.
The Device is in a Boot - Loop since i try to install the Bootloader!
Are they any Idea to reset this?

Flash Windows Mobile ROM again in bootloader mode.
I don't think it'll work because you need a 576MB RAM radio.
I succesfully flash WinMob on the device.
Does somebody get it work? (Android)

[Q] Some small basic questions

Hello,
I'm making a presentation about flashing Custom-ROMs, especially the HD2, and have some basic questions:
Can't you just install an Android over the SD-Method (via leoimg.nbh) just like flashing a Stock-ROM?
How can I install an Android with MagLdr without CWM-Recovery? Can you install .zip with this way or do I need CWM-Recovery everytime with MagLdr?
I am using the normal method, but I just want to know what for other ways are possible theoretically.
Thank you for your help!
Best regards
TWRP Extended

You don't always need to use CWM. You can use TWRP Extended
Edit: I just noticed, this is from January.
Damn, it's been a while since I've visited the HD2 section. I hope the information I provide below are correct, and I apologise if I say anything wrong. Find my answers in blue.

As far as I can remember, no. leoimg.nbh can only be used to install WM6.5.

MAGLDR is just the bootloader, you also need a recovery to flash .zip-based ROMs. Like the post above said, it doesn't have to be CWM, it can be any recovery. However, it's possible to flash Android without a recovery if you use DFT's .exe installer. But there is a number of ROMs that use this, and I think they're all quite old. All new ROMs use .zip (and hence require a recovery).
I am using the normal method, but I just want to know what for other ways are possible theoretically.

I wan't to add something to the guy above.
I don't recommend a Android above 4.x . They are SUPER SLOW! I tried a lot of them, if you really need it, TouchWiz Rom is the best, it's the fastest you can get. But, you can better search for a Gingerbread Sense/noSense rom, they are really fast and are really stable.
