Yesterday I picked up a used G2 on Craigslist.
Has a Body Glove case (which I dont like and dont use).
Got it for $325.
1) Is that what they are going for or did I stumble upon a good deal ?
2) How much should I get for the Nexus One I'm going to sell ?
I do have to say after using the G2 for just one day I cant go back to the Nexus.
The G2 is that much faster.
That's not bad. On ebay, used ones are still going for $400 and up. Nexus, $200 or obo.

Im sure you could get at least 300 for your nexus. I a actually traded my vibrant for a brand new g2 lol.

Well, it's been fun, but enough is enough. I'm sick of using these low specs and want to get a new android.
My g1 is:
-unlocked
-Rooted (I can unroot if you think that'll get me a better price)
-A little rough around the edges, but I plan to refurb it before selling.
-Screen is PERFECT no scratches at all
-Original box and booklets
-Htc headset adapter included (but not the headphones)
-Usb cable + charger
-2 screen protectors (plus the one currently in use)
-Black case
-Extended battery (although the extended battery cover is cracked and the case doesn't fit over the phone when you're using it
I think that just about wraps it out.
Anybody know how much I can get from it?
Should I even bother refurbishing it?

I just bought one for $50 of craigslist
Doesn't have the box, but has everything else, two batteries, screen protector and 2 hard cases
Flashing it now....
Ive seen them selling much higher on ebay.
I'm hoping the bid can atleast get up to 200.
But an ebay search for a new and unlocked one shows them at around 300 - 400. but I probably wont get near that
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App
Just going by the ebay listing now, i'd say a reasonable offer would be between 75 and 150, not 200.
You can get a NEW android phone with specs that average out to equivalent for about $150 CDN.
i got mine new from ebay for around 120 and it came with alot of extras. and you could probably sell yours used for around the same price

new w/o a three year butt-rapage from a cell company??? didn't think so.
but yeah, if someone were looking to get on a new contract, there are better phones out there. not much, but better.
Well, I put it in ebay and put the starting bid at 200
No bids yet, but 16 watcher.
That's always a good sign, although I don't think anybodies going to bid till last second
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App
Yeah id say you should set it at 150 to start. but you can do what ya like. I have a question though? pretty noobish, what exactly is refurbishing it? i mean what do you actually do to the phone for it to be considered refurbished?
I was going to buy the replacement shell from ebay so that it would be good as new.
I really wasn't expecting to get any attention from the $200 pricetag, but if people are watching it that means they're thinking "its ok assuming I don't find a better price"

So I'm planning on getting a new phone soon, and the price of the Nexus 4 is already pushing it. I was on kogan and I came across a HTC One X for $399.
Same screen size, same resolution, more space. It doesn't have the S4 Quadcore though, it's tegra 3.
Is there something I'm missing? Or should I maybe go for this? I don't know how long I'd have to wait for the Nexus 4 to come back in stock and my current phone (Nokia N8) is dying..
(I'm aware the One X is currently sold out, but I'm fairly sure it'll come back in stock soon)
? people are reporting that they've been buying N4 just a couple days ago and received it already even though it says it will be shipped in 6-7 weeks. you can check this in the other shipping threads in general

But I never ordered one. Check the play store website, in Australia at least, it still says sold out.
So is the One X a decent alternative?

Not if you want aosp.. or pure google experience.. + the one x is getting outdated now.
Buy a Nexus S for $50 and a $200 set of headphones. One option.

Oh you're in Australia. Nevermind, thought you were in N.A. or Europe.
One x is a great phone mate.
Been using one while my patience waiting for a n4 slowly dissolves. Get it.
Then wait for Nexus 5.

You should put the Galaxy S3 (international) in your consider list. There are a few things going for it compared to the N4, including: microSD, USB OTG, MHL, Wolfson DAC (audio quality), and base on what I've seen so far: better front and rear camera and better speaker. With that said I've been reading many people having the S3 died instantly on them for no reason.

I was considering a GS3, but it's $200 more than the N4 and $400 is already too much for me, haha.
I want a high end phone with a big screen though, and I've completely filled my current 16GB phone so the 32GB One X seemed good.

There's always custom roms isn't there? And how is it outdated? Quad Core tegra 3 is above anything else at this price range, right? (Besides N4 of course)
Coming from a one x they are a great phone, good dev support etc. I just got bored of HTC sense it got bloated and horrible for me. If you don't want to wait for a N4 a one x is a good option

Couldn't I flash it with a vanilla ICS though? I don't really want all that sense bull****.
Of course but IMHO HTC devices rely heavily on Sense.
Camera performance will suck on AOSP.
I say get the Galaxy Nexus & save yourself the trouble.
Sent from my HTC EVO LTE
Eh, I'd rather the quad core and more space..
There's no way to have decent camera quality without sense?
I don't use the camera that much, but it's still nice to have..
Sense is ok and the camera app is amazing. Great outdoor viewing especially when using camera. You can actually see what you're shooting I've been using since April and have bought and sold a number of new releases but the sim always goes back in the one x for some reason.
First phone I haven't rooted or played with since jailbreaking iPhone 3g.
Stock works fine.....

People say good things of the One X's camera and screen. I'm a fan of the N4's screen, too, personally.
But I despise Sense.
My buddy is selling his old iPhone 4 black 16gb for $150 on At&t.
He said it was mint and in an otterbox its whole life. He has the box and said the accessories are still originally packed.
I think its a good deal. My gf has a 3GS but its 8gb and doesn't have a FFC. It has iOS6 but lacking space due to music.
What's an iPhone 4 sell for on the market? EBay had them for $200+...

Cool. I went ahead and bought it. It has a few minor scuffs from the case but overall is in nice condition 9/10. Trade in value was about $100-$150 but for some reason I'm seeing them on ebay for close to $300.
I don't plan on selling it though, just upgrading my womans 3GS to something twice as fast, retina screen, twice the storage, better camera + flash, and front facing camera. I think $150 is worth all that. I like the design of the > iPhone 4 phones. Very mechanical / manly / minimal.
Also we can regift the 3GS to my son to play games on / iPod. So its a double win.
This is an appraisal, not an online-deal.
Hi guys. I have a Nexus S and I already posted this in the NS forums.
Now... I've been wanting a Nexus 7 ever since it was announced, but only now that I can afford one.
But now I see I've got a chance to buy a 16gb Nexus 4.
I was planning on continuing to use my Nexus S as it totally rocks running CM10.1 and using the Nexus 7 for browsing the web around the house and playing games.
If I would buy the Nexus 4 I would obviously not afford the Nexus 7 for a while. But the Nexus 4 is such a sexy piece of hardware and it has a much better camera than the Nexus S and I've got a baby on the way and I would love to be able to take good pictures and HD videos of my little ones.
Help me decide!
Nexus 7 + Nexus S
Or
Nexus 4 only
I´ll tell you one thing that might sway your opinion a bit...
I am in Iceland... A 16gb Nexus 4 is 99.900 ISK = 775 USD. A 32gb Nexus 7 is 59.900 ISK = 465 USD.
:crying:
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
I would say keep the S and get the 7.
If you are happy with the phone you have now, then keep it and enjoy the larger screen of the 7 for video/pics/etc...
And you will have some money left over to put towards what ever phone Google comes out with next.
Danggg that's expensive
I would keep your current phone, buy the 7, and with the cash saved buy a nice little camera. No phone can replace a camera. You'll have it all. Good luck with the kid. I got two and they ain't cheap..
I just* came from a Nexus S yesterday. I say get the Nexus 4. It is son totally worth it dude....
Crap and I thought that getting the nexus 4 from t-Mobile was expensive.
I would strongly encourage against getting the nexus 4. Instead get the nexus 7. You can still take pictures with the nexus 7 and the nexus s. Your new baby will also be able to use the device to play once he or she is old enough

Wow, didn't expect the Nexus 4 forum to be so biased towards the N7. I might just post this in the N7 forum to get all points of view.

For 770$, don't get the nexus 4.
A nexus s and a nexus 7 would be much better value for money.
If it was priced normally, get the n4

Not biased, we are just reasonable. If the N4 would've been the price it normally is, I would've gotten it. But in your situation, getting the N7 is simply the most logical thing to do.

775 USD! OMG! I thought my country was bad in prices. It's 500$ USD here in Pak.
I couldn't recommend getting Nexus 4. It's the most beautiful phone ever made but bad battery and horrible camera destroy the whole experience unfortunately.

If it's the most beautiful phone ever made, what do you recommend?
By the way, the battery isn't that bad. You just have to figure out what causes it. Also, the camera isn't horrible. It's above average for a smartphone. Certainly not the best, but it's also not the worst.

If money isn't the issue then Note 2 is the king of the hill. I can fully recommend that. Battery is super good out from the box and camera in top 3 of the smart phones.
I really want to love my Nexus but my heart breaking every time how I see the battery go down and when I take a picture in a bit dark conditions.
Then on the other hand Note 2 which is plastic and kinda ugly and would be great to hate it just always surprises me positively.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've looked into this now and I see that it wouldn't save me a lot of money due to Icelandic import taxes. Maybe about 50 GBP.

Isn't Iceland part of the EU? I have the same problem as you, only I live in the Netherlands. I have the option to buy it from the UK or German playstore, and Germany also sells it elsewhere for a higher price.
You could get it from Canada/USA (when it's available again, or maybe via ebay) and hope you don't have to pay import duty. If you have it sent to you as a gift (like a personal package from family) I believe you don't have to pay taxes. At least that's how it works here. It's a bit of a grey area but I'm not going to pay 100-200 euro more for a phone that's supposed to be cheap.

I thought Iceland was a EEA country, no? I mean they don't ask for visa... Your currency is Euros right?
Just buy it on ebay.co.uk but don't forget to ask the seller if he could send it as a gift. (If you really want to make sure.)

A lot of ebay sellers don't want to do this though. And besides, finding a cheap seller on ebay can be difficult. You have to bid on almost every single one, and that can drive up the price really fast.
Obviously replace the screen is the first thought, I have read reviews on Amazon about the replacement screen from ASUS and its mixed reviews. Should I just buy a new or risk getting a lemon?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using XDA Premium HD app
For the cost of one of these now....just buy another one used. Or a new 2013.
I wouldn't personally go through the hassle and cost of trying to fix it. ?
Buying a used nexus 7 is a better option:good:
I got a new (barely used) screen + frame assembly on ebay for $50. It works great and the seller was just a couple states away. I haven't had a single problem with my new screen. Parts can be found relatively easily if you don't want the cost of buying a whole used or new tablet. I can't say for sure about the amazon products, but my experience in buying a new screen was painless, quick, and cheap. My kids use my nexus 7 more than I do, so I was more worried about getting it back up and running immediately to avoid being referee to their fights lol.
I got one for 65$ from eBay China seller. And replaced it myself..
