Battery life comparison - Fascinate General

Hi all just wanted to do a comparison for battery life. I think that the biggest factor is having your display on and what kernal you use. So fill this out please so everyone can know battery life based on rom/kernal combos. :]
Samsung Fascinate
Rom: JTs V.7 DJ05
Kernal: Stupidfast 1.54
% battery remaining: 1
Standby time: 14h10m
Screen time on: 4h12m
Screen brightness setting: Auto
Setcpu: no
Settings: N/A
If you think theres any other factors to add just let me know.

I like the idea. Hopefully it is practical, so many variables. I would suggest streamlining the report a little bit, adding time spent without signal to standby, and changing SetCPU to be Extras: (only list items if you have them), live wallpaper, launcher, setcpu
Also I would add
Most used: Map 13%
Swyped from my i500.04 (bh &1129) using XDA App

Reports:
System: blackhole 2.2nf, jt 11/29 novoodoo
Extras: live wallpaper (Ocean Waves), adw, auto brightness, buzzbox news, accuweather quick, tweetdeck, google voice, goldenstorm Blackish v07 theme
Updates: Gmail (push), tweetdeck (twitter & facebook every 60 minutes), Buzzbox News (wifi every 30 minutes, vzw every 2 hours), Accuweather Quick (Default)
Report 12/3:
Display on: 5:23 (4% battery left)
standby 14:50 (28% without signal)
Most used: display 61%, standby 11%, maps 11%
Report 12/6: (Total 21:07:20)
Display on: 4:37 (8% battery left)
standby: 21:07 (17% w/o signal)
Most used: display 57%, standby 16%, idle 9% (16:30), bluetooth 6%, voice 5% (4 minutes)
Report 12/7 (Total 11:12:43 )
Display on: 5:51:47 (2% battery left)
standby: 11:12 (27% without signal)
Most used: display 69%, voice 8% (0:07:50), standby 8%, system 4%, idle 3% (5:20:56), dolphin HD 3% (0:17:22)
Report 12/8 (Total: 15:44:36)
Display on: 3:56:18 56%, (4% battery left)
standby: 15:44:29 15%, (35% without signal)
Most used: Media server 6% (0:46:30 - ran pandora a while off of speakers), System 4%, Voice 4% (0:2:40)

Thats awsome soba (gets off to try that combo now)

Ill just be stoked when we get froyo in twelve million years.
Froyo has increased battery life on my X by like a good 5 or 6 hours.
I charge my fascinate nearly twice as often

Hey soba would you say that Bh has bettery battery life than JT?

Well note that I am running JT's kernel. In terms of the ROM, of course I am very happy where I am, but not because I believe the battery life is superior. I did run super clean 0.5 no voodoo, but not long enough to make a proper battery life comparison. In fact, I believe comparing different installations to get a handle on battery life or perhaps some practices that might improve it is the intention of the thread.

Samsung Fascinate
Rom: JTs V.7 DJ05 with NexTheme v3.0
Kernal: 1203 Voodoo
% battery remaining: 69%
Time since unplugged (full charge): 12h 26m
Phone Idle: 11h 40m
Display on: 46m
Time without signal: 15%
Most Used: Display - 34%, Cell Standby - 34%, Phone Idle - 22%
I'm using Beautiful Widgets, set to update weather every hour, along with LauncherPro+ set to update Friends widget every hour (Twitter/Facebook). No Live wallpaper, minor gaming (maybe 10 min). Today has been a light usage day as I was busy with other stuff and had less time to play with my phone.

BlackHole 2.4 w/ DJ05, jt 1129 no voodoo:
4 hours, 1 minute display. 24 hours standby. 3% battery left. Just a rough estimate, didn't take formal report. Subjectively same battery life as 2.2 w/ IRC dj05.

[Survey] Battery drainage calculator - Post your results and compare

Hey guys,
I just compared my battery drainage with a friend and found out, that my display is using 3x more energy on lowest setting than his display on automatic brightness settings. I made a calculator to find out how many minutes the display can be turned on to suck 1% out of the battery and would like to know your results.
Everything you need is to type in your current battery level, the percentage of the different battery-consumers and their hours and minutes of total usage.
Please also post your screen brightness settings and system data.
My scores (minutes per %)
Display: 2,8
Cell standby: 195,7
Voice calls: 3,4
Phone idle: 391,7
System: Darkys Raw Steel Edition v3.0, Froyo JPM, Voodoo 5 pre6

Battery Statistics Thread

I thought we could have a thread posting battery statistics in the similar fashion to the one on the Captivate General forums.
1. Make sure your battery is properly calibrated.
2. Charge the phone overnight.
3. Start using your phone in the morning and do not charge throughout the day
4. When your battery hits ~5% record your statistics.
Here's my latest stats:
Still using K10H 256hz kernel on BUPJ8 Doc Rom v9
Have a black background with a black theme, brightness on Auto today.
5% battery after 14h4m
Display 95% with Time on 3h41m6s
Cell Standby 3%
Phone Idle 1%
In Battery History
Running 40.3% 5h40m without sleeping
Wifi on 16.7% 2h21m
I was using JuiceDefender till I got home and also had 3g disabled a majority of the day, however after I got home I wanted to see the drain without juicedefender on.
Drain without juicedefender when on 3g was pretty appalling, probably a % every 5-10 minutes.
Mostly just
-Bit of Tweetdeck
-Few minutes browsing web
-Texting
-Emails
-1 phone call (5 minutes)
-Read Ebooks for 30 minutes
-Played Dungeon Hunter for 23 minutes
-Music for 1hour
-Grocery list for 18 minutes while shopping

[FIX] YABD Fix for Darky's rom + SpeedMod kernel

I would like to share my benchmark for few days tinkering with Darky's rom + SpeedMod's kernel.
Here's my tests (BLN enabled):
Night 1: Darky's V7 default.
Result: ~8hrs idle, Cell standby 22%, wifi 24% of 52% total batt drained.
Night 2: V7 rom, with hardcore's K12C 256MHz, reset batt stats, DXJPA wifi module.
Result: ~8hrs idle, cell standby 21%, wifi 22% of total 50% batt drained.
Night 3: V7 rom, hardcore's k12D 256MHz, DXJPA wifi.
Result: ~9hrs idle, cell standby 32%, wifi 28% of total 58% batt drained.
Night 4: V7.6 rom (with DXJPA wifi), hardcore's k12F 256MHz, DXJPA modem.
Result: ~8hrs idle, cell standby 30%, wifi 28% of total 51% batt drained.
Night 5: V7.6 rom (with DXJPA wifi), hardcore's k12F 256MHz, DXJPA modem. Blinky set to 33% duty cycle (and turn off light after 3 minutes unattended)
Result: ~7 1/2 hrs idle, cell standby 27%, wifi 28% of total 12% batt drained.
I think BLN has been causing the phantom battery drain, but unaccounted for in the battery usage page.
note: 33% duty cycle means 1s lights ON, 2s lights OFF
Hi mate, I had same problem... a few days ago, I tried Doc's rom v7.1 (made with kitchen) using supercurio's voodoo kernel, battery drain droped down to 1~2% over 6 hrs.
previously loosing around 25~30%.
It might sound like advertising for Doc's Rom, but it indeed solved some of my battery drain problems.
Noted. Something worth trying. Will update here if I ever get to it.

Battery Usage Report - Gingerbread 2.3.3 (4.22.651.2)

Yesterday (June 12, 2011) I decided to use Sprint's method for conditioning ones battery:
-charge for a minimum for 8 hours with phone on
-unplug and power down
-charge at least 1 hour with phone off
-unplug and power phone back on then power back down after 2 minutes
-charge for another hour and unplug, power back up.
I then proceeded to use my EVO as I normally would without exception. When my phone notified me at 15% battery left, I noted the following stats:
-Up time 08:14
-Awake time 02:45
The following were the top three battery usage stats:
-Display, 78%, 1h 28m
-Cell Standby, 7%, 8h 13m, 0% time without signal
-Phone Idle, 6%, 6h 44m
I am on a hardware v0003 EVO, rooted, running xHausx's stock Odexed Gingerbread rom and kernal with the most current radios. Some other useful information about how my EVO is configured:
-WiFi disabled (used 3G only the whole time)
-Bluetooth disabled
-GPS enabled
-Auto-sync enabled (Gmail & Facebook for HTC Sense; I do not use and do not have installed the actual Facebook app)
-Auto-brightness disabled (constant 40%)
-Screen timeout 30s
-4G disabled
-Mobile network enabled
I use the following apps on a regular basis:
-Beluga
-DI Radio
-Friend Stream
-Gmail
-Godville
-Stock Internet Browser
-Stock SMS/MMS app
-Racing Live
Tomorrow I will report again on todays usage stats. If there is any other pertinent information people feel I should include please let me know and I will do so.
Made it 10h 47m at the 15% notification this time around. No change in usage really, just the norm.
Im getting right in between you two around 9-10 hours.

Android System - Keep Awake = Uptime

Recently flashed my HTC Panache (Canada) with RoyalGinger 3.0
Noticed that under Battery Use, Android System is dominating the other items:
Android System 43%
Cell standby 22%
Phone idle 17%
Voice calls 11%
Display 7%
When I click Android System it shows:
CPU total 3m 0s
CPU foreground 3m 0s
Keep awake 9h 42m 2s
Included packages:
VPN Services
Status Bar
Google Backup Transport
Account and Sync Settings
Theme Chooser
Android System
RoyalGinger settings
Settings Storage
Settings
I only rooted it 2 days ago, so don't know when this started. This morning though, I installed Go SMS Pro which seems to be the only significant change I made in the morning. On the battery graph display, there is a brief period of time when it shows the phone was not awake in the morning, and since then the entire thing is blue (phone awake for 9h+ straight)
Fairly moderate usage. Display shows 2h 39m. Nothing is set to sync except Google which should be pushed anyway
Right now, battery life is less than what I was expecting, having read some comments about RoyalGinger. Basically, I'm getting maybe 1.1x of stock Sense, when I was sort of expecting 2x. Hoping that solving this issue would get those battery results.
