Im not new to flashing but im new to Android and im wondering if its something for me.
My general use of my phone is fun and good looking style. Games and apps are mostly what i use my phone for.
Seen the Desire in work and im also wondering if these HD2 android ROM's are just as fast and smooth as on the Desire?
Ps. Sorry for asking something that might have allready been answered but this forum is so huge its almost impossible to find the right answer
I already changed to Android for one.
It's pretty stable and almost everything works, with some minor bugs here and there..
I suggest you simpy try it by downloading one of the ROMS in the Android section (preferably the HD-series, MDJ v4.3 is a good start)and trying it for some time..
You haven't got anything to loose, as it's as simple as copying over the contents of the choosen ROM's RAR file to your SD card, then tapping clrcad.exe and then haret.exe.
When you reboot you have your phone back in it's original state.
Sounds both very easy and great.
Thanks for the reply.

hay guys sorry id some of you get mad for me posting this here but this is the only place i know my qustion will get answered. OK im new to the windows phone deal. i have a mytouch slide and a g1 rooted so i under that hole part here is my ?.
From what i have read on the forums only build roms work with the hd2. well i would like to put android on it but after looking around most the roms on here and the links on here for putting android on the phone all lead to the LEO forum is the correct or no if not can someone tell me were to get the most resent android rom for the hd2 usa, now there seems to be two ways of installing it one is from sd card and 2 is from boot i would like to do it from boot any help would be grate thanks all and happy modding
Someone correct me if I am wrong...
There are not TWO ways of doing android.
Android is ALWAYS installed on the SD card. The only way to "boot" to it is to have your WM configured to boot the two files from your SD card required to run it, in essence there are a few apps that can do this at WM startup.
You will still need an Android friendly Windows Mobile ROM, so the stock from will not work. You also need a compatible radio.
I would check out the HD2 Android Dev forum for more info though.

The Android port cannot replace the WinMo OS just yet. The only way is to install it to your SD Card and it will run off of that. There are apps that allow you to choose between WinMo and Android on bootup. The LEO Android forum is correct since Android builds do not matter which device it is booted on.
Android is able to run on the Stock ROM, but people have said it runs better with a different ROM/Radio.
The build I recommend is Energy ROM / Radio 2.12.50.02_2 and an Android Build of your choice, but you can always run it on the Stock if you feel like it.

Hi guys, I am new to this and I have been reading around, right now I am using -=MDJ FroYo HD v.4.6=-[FRG83D][kernel:MDJ S8.0] from SD but last days it has been so unstable , just today I rebooted like 8 times and my phone is still crashing after a couple of mins when android is loaded. So I am planning to format my sd and reinstall again.
Right now I have all backed up with Titanium app, so here is my question:
Since I am no expert (and non english speaker btw) do you recommend me to install again the same android build? or maybe install another one?
Thing is I have been reading that NAND builds (Android/WP7) are kinda unstable right now, so I am kinda afraid to move from SD to NAND, I am not really interested in WM 6.5 but I don't wanna harm my device.
So, any tips out there? Please include links, I appreciate it. Thanks

"Tytung's" builds, in my opinion, are the best; whether its and SD/NAND/GINGERBREAD Build. Check my thread link in my signature for info on all three.
i can recommend the new hyperdroid nand.
Another vote for tytung's build. I have nand nexus froyo 1.9b installed on my phone, only had once the phone didn't respond after stand-by. Also the charging bug because of magldr (but that's with every nand rom). It's my daily build and I love it.
Ok I think I will give the NexusHD2 build a try...
It is so confusing because I am a starter... but I will keep reading.
Thanks
Hey. I have some questions..
Im new in all of this an so pls forgive me if i ask something stupid
// I have an HD2 with 512MB Flash Memory / 576MB RAM
Im looking for an Android OS which runs stable, with good performance and if possible enough apps .. the battery life is not interesting for me.
So i hope, theres something out that fits my wishes
it would be nice if you could also link me the thread (or a video) where is exactly explained how to install the new os ( and of course a link where i can download the rom, if its not in the thread where it is explained how )
thank you
Here's a guide to installing Android on your HD2...

Other than that, just take your time and have a look through the NAND ROM section. Just open some that sound interesting to you from the titles and read the 1st post to see if it's what you want (Froyo or Gingerbread? Sense or no Sense?).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=928
I've not seen a ROM thread yet where the dev doesn't list what's working and what's not working, so you should be able to weigh it up yourself.
I only suggest you do this because there's no way I can tell you a good ROM. It's all subjective, and you're better knowing what options you have anyway, rather than me just giving you a link to the one I use and saying it's the best there is!
Good luck mate. If you get stuck on anything, read, read, read. If you really can't find help then you've found a very rare situation, so go ahead and ask.
Have fun
Thank you, that will help me for sure, but i have an other question.
What means "Sense or no Sense" ?
Do you know the HTC interface, HTC Sense? It's on the HD2 running WM by default, but also on Android HTC devices such as the Desire, Desire HD and Desire Z (to name but a few).
If you've never seen it it's worth a look. I personally don't use it as I prefer something more configurable, but a lot of people really rate it.
Here's a link to the Desire running Sense...

Hello,
I use a clean Android 2.3.2 and it works like a charm. 720p recording does not work, but it should be fixed in future. You can contact me via MSN or ICQ.. In german
Or you go to www.mobiletopia.de and you can read my Tutorial for flashing Android (http://mobiletopia.de/viewtopic.php?f=371&t=8275) if it is easier in german.
Im not exactly sure what it is, but i think that i like it.. so thank you very much .. I will give a try to the threads you posted above.
You're welcome mate. Good luck
You may also want to try one of the NAND builds, they replace Windows Mobile on your phone. I set up NexusHD2-Froyo V1.9b NAND for my girlfriend and she's reported no problems. It's been a few weeks now.
It runs very fast and stable.
Before you can install a NAND ROM, you will first need to install the MAGLDR. But it's all quite easy.

It's Android for the NAND of you HD2. That means that it will be installed in you phone memory.
An other option ist to install Android on your SD card and Windows Mobile is still on your device and you have to start Android from within Windows Mobile.
I think NAND is the better option, after you startet Android the first time you will never change back
P.S. i used a clean Android from the NAND-section fro Leo and it just works.
Hi guys, I have to create another threat, because my last one was moved to other category and I can`t reply it because I`m new in forum.
So here is the problem.
I`ve just bought HD2, and of course I want to try android SD ROM. Someone advised me that Darkstone SuperRAM v1.5 is fast stable and works good, so I tried to run it. I`ve done everything what instruction said in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870518
But nothing works. I run CLRCAD file and then HARET and I get stuck on black screen. In upper left corner are words:
"HaRET boot
Shutting down hardware
In preloader
...
Jumping to Kernel (custom)... "
Can any1 help me and tell what to do? Did I forget something to do before running android?
Looking forward for your answers,
Sorry of bad English.
Your first post was probably moved because you posted in the wrong place - which you've now done again. If you have a question about a particular build then post in that ROM thread in the right forum.
I have the same build running fine on my HD2 and I suspect you did not fully read the instructions on how to install it, nor the rules on posting here.
But also I can`t post even there, I can post only in my threads.
I tried other sd ROM but it also not worked. Maybe I have a lack of RAM memory? It says I have free 190MB. My HD2 is not T-mobile version.
Or maybe my sd card is to little? (1GB).
Are you sure you have the current stock rom version installed?
Your card is too small. And I bet you need to update the radio on your phone.
