I've been seeing alot of people make a big deal about quadrant scores that pass the 1000 mark...but not too long ago when 2.1 was around.. 2207 was my average score with all these lag fixes installed..
i know i must have missed a post about this.... but nowadays w/ voodoo... i'm lucky to get 1000.... what gives?
Do a search for the answer! people have gone over this countless times.
Lag fixes trick quadrant. It's not an accurate reflection of performance. Therefore over 1000 stock is an improvement from the 930 average score of previous stock builds.

Because that benchmark is bunk.

so my g2 with 1.3 oc is scoring 44 on linpack. when i click top devices... i see people scoring into the 50's 60's and beyond on the same speed overclock that i have on. how are they pulling such good scores? is there a hack out i'm not aware of?
last time I checked someone also got around 250. I'm assuming some of those scores are flukes?

People cheat all the time because they want to be seen (aka being at the top of a leaderboard)
Not everything on teh internetz is true.
The linkpack scoreboard was always full of nonsense. I think it must be easy to spoof.
I see many say they are installing the lag fix on the Tab but is it really needed? Can't say I have noticed much lag on my Tab so just wondering what I would gain if I install the lag fix?
Regards,
BTJ
i dont see the need.
It depends on whether you want to show off your Quadrant score or not, really. In all the tests I've done the only measurable impact of installing the lag fix is on the Quadrant IO score (which it increases by about x10).
If you're not interested in the benchmark, I don't think you'll notice any difference at all.
ok, that's what I thought.. Thx..

No lag here. Quadrant gives a score of about 900-1000.
I don't get it still.
From what I've seen so far, is that the Tab is one of the fastest Android device I've seen, but for some odd reason Quadrant is reporting a very low score. And what's funny is that it's much faster and snappier then my Nexus One (blows it off the water to be exact).
If a lag fix can fix this then it only shows how unreliable Quadrant benchmark is.
Maybe someone can shed some light here.
I installed the fix and I'm getting a 2100+ score in quadrant.

Quadrant is the worst benchmarking tool ever.
So which is the best benchmarking tool?
My wife got a shift on release day and i played with it all the time before I got mine yesterday. I was getting 1650 in quadrant on her shift 100% stock no temp or perm root nothing removed ... so yesterday I get my shift, root it right outta the box and kill apps and run quadrant and my highest score is 1340 did rooting it slow it down or did I get a lemon? I havend RUU'd but I factory reset a few times with the same result... on a weird note I know that some peoples phones weren't able to handle the full 1.5 OC but mine does fine and pulls 2275 in quadrant with miui...weird huh?

I had the same drop from about 1600 to 1300 after rooting it. I always knew when I ran visionary the performance was crap. Didn't really notice any slowness, just saw the numbers from quadrant.
I will check the wifes shift when she gets home (hers is rooted now too) and see if she has the same thing.

Mine went from 1500's to 1200's
Somethings not right
and I removed tons of bloatware, dont have much apps installed (much less than when I got 1500's)

Since rooting?

z4root doesn't seem to be much better. I'm temprooted with z4root and just got 1328. Prerooting I /think/ it was in the 1500 range.
Weird. I've also got a drop vs unrooted stock. With current Quadrent (1.7.1) I get in the 1300's. With previous version (1.5.1) I get 1400's. Out of the box I had 1500 - 1600.

sigh..people still use quadrant? if you don't use pro version you can't tell what exactly is dropping or where the difference is..not to mention its flawed..
Try Smartbench 2010 and/or GLBenchmark
Can we just autodelete any posts that start with "sigh"? They never contribute to the conversation.

I still get in the 1500-1600s perm rooted, usually capping out around 1645. Only thing I didn't do was install the recovery or flash any ROMs. Just froze the apps I didn't want to see in titanium. I also deleted Visionary but that's it. Everything else was the same as before I rooted. I never used my phone in temp root mode though. I went from stock to perm root without doing any performance tests.
I'm running miui oc 1.5g and my first couple tries were in the 2200s, downloaded the new version that just came out, played with it again this morning and I've been getting around 1900, I think the new version that came out may be causing it, version 1.1.7
whoever has an older version, can they pull the apk and let those who are getting 'lower scores' try it and see if the results are the same or not

What are you talking about? I contributed in saying that you can't base your assumptions on 1 benchmark..mostly a flawed one..in his case he lost "Quadrant Score" but Quadrant Score is vague as there is CPU, IO, 2D, 3D, Memory..
so there is n way to isolate the issue..unless you either use Quadrant Pro or another benchmark...because it can also be another Flaw in Quadrant too..if not you can figure out what exactly is being effected...
But you are right, we should autodelete posts that don't contribute to the discussion..like this guy:

Cpu is down a little. But I/O and 2D are down quite a bit from when I was running the stock rom, both around half. I'm kind of curious why that is. I'm wondering if its because now I'm on the Deodexed rom and not stock maybe? On a side note I was able to get 2517 on the 1.5ghz OC kernel and Desire ROM though.
Some people know it all I guess

Running the same benchmark on the same phone will tell you something, though. It may not tell you exactly where, but something is suffering.

I noticed that when I updated quadrant today, my score dropped from around a 1600 to between 1300 and 1400.
What rom has the highest quad score for the vibrant?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Depends on many factors, not just the rom. There's also the Kernel, OCing, UVing and even the launcher.
Highest I have had without an overclock was 2456, and that was on Simply Galaxy v3 RC3 (Port from i9000) with all the tweaks engaged. It was very very fast. Faster than any other ROM I have used, even with overclock. Hell, if I could OC with that ROM I would bet that I could break 3000+ quads easy. But quads are worthless. You just have to try using the phone with the speed of that ROM. I didn't know the vibrant could be that fast.
Running Trigger right now. Get anywhere from 1400-1600. Runs ok. Was just wondering what some of the other Rome were capable of. How is the Simply Galaxy rom? I personally don't know anyone who has used it.

2750 Quadrant.
Darky 9.5 Froyo 2.2.1 base rom, 1.48Ghz Bullet Kernel linked in my sig.
Phone is FLYIN. Gingerbread 2.3.3 builds can go higher (but have bugs).
I got a Quadrant of 3300.....!!
I was using my TI-83 calculator with a tic-tac stuck in the DC in slot!
2000 flat w/ bi winning V2 no OC w/ voodoo. VERY FAST though. Quadrant doesn't give it justice.

I have a 3500 quadrant. On top of that, my battery increases 2% every hour as a result.
I'm running Android 3.3 on mine. 4700 quadrant score and when I plug my usb up to my laptop the phone charges it.
5000 with a V8 hemi under the hood!
With the battery in, I get around 16K but I only get 8K if I take the battery out.
I'm using the FBS ROM.

I second this.
So useless of an app, it has nothing to do with the actually smoothness and snapyness in any phone. Sometimes I feel it's scores are the other way around, the lowest you get the better your phone is
I'm a total lurker, but after "bricking" my vibrant about 3 weeks after getting it home last Fall and discovering the fix here, I've been tweaking, wiping, flashing, odining, and having a helluva lot of fun with it. I'll probably betray myself as still being a noob, but I see everyone kind of poo-pooing Quadrant as meaningless (and other benchmarks, it seems). Is there any objective measurement that you guys consider worthwhile?
I thought I was all hot **** for breaking the 2K mark, but I guess none of that matters?
Trigger 3.2 with Bullet 1.42...just added bullet, so currently OC'd to 1.2 while I get a feel for what the phone can handle.

On Biwinning with o.c. I am getting 2580 ....... but it does not perform ant better than leaving the clock @ 1000 so I leave unclocked ......... I get great battery life then...........
Quadrant is amusing...
but it's not always telling of how a rom actually performs. Back in the day when we were using the OCLF, quad scrores were in the 2k range and that was with 2.1
That being said, I felt compelled to post this anyway, mainly just to show the cpu score improvement that we get with gingerbread. My phone was running Cyanogenmod7 at stock speeds. Comparing quadrant scores between roms that are all based off of each other is pointless.
The 1815 score is from CM7
The 1755 score is from MIUI
MIUI performs great, but it's not as buttery smooth as CM7. But from the two scores you wouldn't see that. More importantly I think this also lends to what I said about comparing two scores between roms that are based off of each other.
Anyone else that uses quadrant notice that since the last update, it takes for ever to run a benchmark compared to how long it use to take. Also i'm only scoring a 1168, before the update it was 18** something. I know quadrant dosent really mean squat anyways, but is there a better benchmark app out there, one thats more accurate?

they redid everything and the new scores will be different. You can't compare the new score to the old. In fact quadrant should be more accurate now I think. Try antutu to benchmark.
