Hi, i'm trying to add new language to my rom but when i recompile framework-res.apk i get boot loop.
when i recompile framework-res.apk to my HTC Desire its working good but on my Desire HD not,
please help, thanks.
BTW i'm using apk manager 4.9
1. Did you use a stock framework-res - if you compile modded framework, apktool will not compile most of the time
2. Did you replace another language folder in values or did you ADD the folder?

I want to edit BrightnessPreference.smali and SoundSettings.smali in Settings.apk. I extracted Settings.apk from android emulator images and it crashes every time when i select brightness settings and volume settings. i also extracted Settings.apk from cyanogenmod 10 builds, and moved smali files to my original settings.apk and it did not work. which part do i have to modify in these smali files?

i decompiled framework-miui-res.apk to remove Chinese language but i got some error and if it done phone dosen't boot
can any one help me to remove Chinese language from this apk and re upload the apk

Did you re-sign the apk?
I recently decompiled and recompiled an apk using this guide.

thank you but this is system apk no need to sign just replace META-INF and AndroidManifest.xml from original apk it works on framework-res.apk and any system apk
but my problem with recompile not sign

i founded another way i' try it
While recompile systemui.apk i get "W:could not find source" . Even if i make no changes & recompile i get the same error.....Whereas i do not get this error while recompiling music.apk n memo.apk....
btw i imported framework res and tw framework res....any solution??

dont worry - its looking for some sources that are in a different apk for reference
the apk will still compile and work if all changes are correct
if you are using evo-x4 make sure you are using ics framework and not the one in the rom zip
also once you have recompiled delete the new apk
open then decompiled folder
unzip the orig apk with winrar
take out META-INF and AndroidManifest.xml
place this in your decompiled folder in build/apk
recompile the folder again
I got the same thing when I modded android.policy.jar

Are you using the S5 framework and twframework-res? Or perhaps you have an out of date decompiler. Did you copy META-INF and AndroidManifest.xml from your the old apk to the recompiled apk? It's hard to guess at the problem since you didn't give us crucial details on what tool versions and steps you used or exact error messages you saw. There are a number of threads on the subject, so do a search to see what is working for others.
Hello everybody.
I am trying to get 3minit battery mod working on OptimusG3 1.4.1 and for that I need to decompile my system ui. I use apkmultitool for Decompiling my apks but with this systemui it doesn't quote work. It gives an error when Decompiling normally alnd when choosing decompile system apk, it asks for a dependee apk. I tried giving it both framework-res.apk and lge-res.apk but none worked. I deodexed the systemui.
Can anybody please help, give me a hint of suggest a better working tool?
