Delete the porn and you'll no longer worry about hiding it.

LOLZ funny but how about telling me how to fix it.?

Just name your folder with dot (.) at 1st letter and it will no longer get visible in gallery
For example (.movies)

I use the app vaulty free. Awesome. It stores all pics and vids secures it with a password

You can also copy a file called ".nomedia" in every folder that you dont want to be scanned.
Works perfect!

.nomedia works for the folder and sub-folder level.
so you can have a folder "myporn" with .nomedia
under "myporn" you can have image, video, audio, which the media scanning will skip and it won't appear in Gallery, and video player

This thread = WIN

just send your videos of your wife/gf to me and i will hide them

My problem is , i use the apps calls videovault a it only hides the video when its inside internal sd card but when i put in externat sd card then it says faild plz try again later , how can i fix this

Why dont you have a seperate folder for all your porns, and in that folder create a folder call .nomedia with a dot like that. It wont show in up in your gallery

whoa! u guys are sick!
well i hide my videos too...no not porn but you see i dont want for my friends to see the family videos i shoot (yea due to privacy reasons ofcourse!) and yea some Katy Perry ones from my family(they r not porn but weird ) so what i do is put them all together in a folder and put a .nomedia file in it too(It prevents the media scanner from scanning it) Hope it helps

80% of mans hiding something will be always porn.. same as on my phone
if you do not agree.. you are weird then

Encrypting specific Apps/programs?

Is there an app that can lock other Apps or basically anything that I want to lock?
For example, I want to lock my media (videos and pictures). I don't want my girl in that part of my phone.
Let me know

uhh ohhhh, someone got some pr0ns haha,
but im not sure of anyway to lock media, the only way i can think is to just set a password (Dots, Numbers, or Words) for the entire phone.
Definitely not pornos! Unless you consider recordings of other females I've messed with pornos. That's why I said I want to keep it away from my girl.

How about not storing that stuff on you phone?
now for some seriousness
some dude on another forum said:
I recommend Photovault. It's free, but what it does is that it changes your extension of the photos you wish hide. It also has 2 modes, Public and Private. You place a password on the Private gallery and you can even have a setting where the app starts in the Public gallery. It's not a eye-appealing app, but it gets the job done.

A little camera problem

Ok this is going to sound really stupid but hear me out I'm POSITIVE I didn't delete the videos off my phone.
So yesterday I was out with some friends just chilling and I took some pretty funny videos of some of my friends. To share them with my friends I decided I was gonna upload them to youtube, but I couldnt do it directly from my phone for some reason. So I decided to email both video files via gmail to myself then upload them later on the computer. I check a couple hours later and the message is still sending, because of the amount of memory both videos were I assume, so I decided to give up and just find them on the sd card then move them to my pc. So I delete the message that was sending with the attached files since I wasnt going to go about it that way anymore, but then I go back and look through my phone and notice I cant find the videos. By attaching them to my gmail did I move them off the SD card?
I don't know about your main problem but in order to send pics/videos your carriers mobile data must be on, it will not work if only WiFi is enabled.

Sorry I knew it was too confusing. The uploading wasn't the main problem, my main question is if by me attaching those video files to my email then deleting them while they were still in the sending process, did I basically just delete those files off my sd card too??
It shouldn't have deleted the videos, not sure how that could have happened.

I have a problem with the gallery app too!! Looking closely one of the random camera videos, it has a screenshot from a different video I did delete. How is this possible.. I may have deleted the two videos by accident because of this. Is there any sort of trashcan?

Have you tried using a program to locate the deleted files and "undelete" them?

You can "undelete" from SDCARD with 3rd party applications, I have done long time ago. But I am not sure you can do it since android writes/modifies sdcard too much.

you can also use ES File Explorer (free on market)
open it and go the the folder with the pictures/files you dont want to show then press menu, New file & save as .nomedia
App devs who don't do this by default, are just plain lazy

Gallery

Anyone have any idea how to keep Album and Ebook Covers from showing up in the gallery. Want it to be just my photos etc from cam and downloads but they all show up there in all different folders?
Find where those pictures are stored. Go in that folder and make a new folder call .nomedia
Thanks

Just touch and hold the "offending" file and an option menu will pop up where you can select "Exclude" - done.

I use a great little free app called quickpic which allows you to chose which folders are listed and it loads up large galleries nice and quick.

personally i find the default Gallery app pretty rubbish, it only refreshes content on a reboot for example.
i try and avoid using it as much as possible.

Yes, thats a nice little one.. I just loaded it and it has the exclude in it..
also allows you to backup to the root directry that the offending files are hanging out under..
i.e Books\nonfiction\files.. thus no need to do it individually..
it also works in well with the Picture framer I am using as a widget on one of my home screens..
where I have setup client files for previews.. now I think I just about got the perfect setup for it as a portable
casestudy showcase..so to recap on that..
ESfile explorer - to setup directory links as folders on a home screen
Picture framer to allow 4 large pictures on any one home screen - thus a quick tap takes you in to that themed directry
Quickpic - to run as the main viewer and slideshow engine..

stop music samples showing in google music

ok yeah so as title says im using a large amount of music samples for music creating apps on my nexus 7, now when i go to google music all the samples show up as tracks, ive moved the "samples" folder outside of "music" but still they show.
anyone know how i can set THAT folder of samples not to appear in google music?
Create a new blank file in the folder you want to be ignored by Google's media scanner named .nomedia I believe. I may have the exact name incorrect...

Either in a file explorer or with the device connected to the computer, navigate to the folder that contains the files you don't want it to see. Then create a blank file (with no file extension) and simply call it .nomedia

You rebooted, right? You might have to wipe the app's data also, because this only prevents it from finding it when it scans for new files. Or perhaps it just doesn't work with Play.
