Ok so being the eager beaver that I am I upgraded my phone as soon a the official (JH2) Rom came out. Unfortunately because of the version of Kies I was using it didn't update the bootloader to fix my recovery mode issue.(don't have one)
My question is this: should I root now or wait for the official Froyo update on the 15 th (so they say) will the official Froyo update give me my recovery mode?
Thanks in advance,
M

I was wondering if I was rooted (overclocked) and I didn't get the OTA update for Gingerbread, is there any way I could get the official T-Mobile Gingerbread OTA from another source?

If you are rooted, why would you want the OTA?
But yes, you can download it. Download the OTA now from the dev section. And just save it on your PC till you need it.
And when I'm ready to flash it do I go through Bootloader without root?

The official ROM is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074391
But if you flash this, you will lose root, and not be able to root w/o downgrading (same as the OTA).
This one is rooted, and probably what you want to flash. Flash from ROM Manager or Recovery:

You will receive the official update, and you will be able to update it via OTA as long as you have the stock kernel and recovery. So if you have a custom kernel and/or recovery, reflash the stock ones. Otherwise, you can always download a modified OTA from XDA which will work on a modified system.
So my S5 updated last night. Root checker says not rooted. Xposed installer isn't supported anymore. How can I get back to rooted? Any threads out there yet?
Only update received was part one to prepare for lollipop. Second update will not install. I think I have to unroot back to original then root again. Where can I find the thread for that.

I updated to OA8 and need to root. Anything out there to walk me through this? Tried to flash NK2 but got stuck in boot loop. 3 attempts.
