Facebook for HTC Sense

i recently purchased a htc wildfire and syncd my facebook account with htc sence. Initially it worked like a charm adding facebook information and pics of all my phone contacts. But later when i changed my facebook password on the site, and created a new account on facebook for htc sence on my phone as i had to modify its password, the account was created successfully and it also updates evrything. But now i dont have any of my facebook contacts or contact information and pictures of my phone contacts that were synced with facebook. All the remaining features like Friendstream work perfectly and show all the updates. Please help.

I have the exact same problem.
However it appears its a common bug in the HTC Sense Facebook for Android 2.1.
I am going to contact HTC by mail to see what's up.

plz do tell me if you get any solutn for the problem...u can post it here or email me on [email protected]

I have not yet gotten a response from HTC.
I googled for some longer time.
Apparently, Facebook broke something and they are trying to fix it.
I am afraid the only thing is to wait.

It just started working when you refresh.

My doomed twitter problem

I hope someone here can help me since i am so desperate after searching many forums, anyway i'll try summarize it as much as i can :
- my desktop twitter log in working.
- my x10 browser log in working.
- x10 opera mini log in working.
- desktop applications like tweetdeck and cotweet which require authorization working too..
- any twitter application for android isn't working, Twiteroid, etc even timescape tells me invalid account information,
Twiteroid tells my it can't authorize the account ( and its not the one hour problem that happens due to wrong password )
- i've tried revoking all access from all program but again no use..
Any ideas ?

SEESMIC
TWICCA
and my personal favorite TWEETCASTER
check your user name and password again when entering it ...sometimes when using swype or slide it you can accidentally rely on it too much for accuracy and it will add in a word you previously entered incorrectly!
I have also noticed with passwords and emails if you have AUTO word space set up in SWYPE you can end up with a space where you do not need it and not see this glitch until it rejects your userame/password!
edit additional If your using a Googlemail or Gmail acct for your email then try re registering with a different email address sometimes GOOGLE mail account can cause headaches and not allow access to some stuff ... the android market being one will not accept an @gmail acct and needs you to use an @googlemail this is due to them offering the googlemail to gmail switch a month or so back!

TWIDROID, SEESMIC, TWICCA all not working
i can't be writing my username and password wrong for 2 days now comon
besides i log in normally on the web browser which makes me more confused
i tried log in with the username and not the Email and still no use..
it just keeps me going crazy..

There was a similar thread that I responded to on SE's own forum. I gave all the normal suggestions but none worked. In the end the lady concerned said she had to restart (?) her whole phone and lost her contacts so I think she did a factory restore on it. But that did solve the Twitter problem.
I think this is a problem that has occured in the last few days because I also noticed another couple of threads on there about the same thing. I asked the other poster to pay it forward and give a description of exactly what she did to resolve it. Sadly at this point she hasn't done so.

Anyway, i would like to make a factory reset my last resort since i am not rooted and dont want to, i wish i could solve this confusing problem, i even cant figure out if its twitter sided or mobile sided error, wait a min. I have an idea , Am gonna try another account and see where it goes...

Yeah I know I need to get a life Sadly its a bit addictive trying to help people, bugs the cr*p out of me when I can't help especially on something that should be so flipping simple.

before you resort to desperate measures... try going into settings/ applications/ manage applications/ timescape/ clear data.. and Then do the same for timescape plug in manager and timescape provider.. then do the same for any Twitter apps you have.
You'll need to set those up again, but it might just do the trick!

nope, still no hope, i can't believe it, i have to do a full wipe for twitter .. lame ..

Hi mezo, the person on the SE forum did confirm this morning that is was a factory reset that did the trick (I get email notifications on that one - oh dear lord I need a life) but what a pain in your rear end just to get it working.

Wow you are fast, i just that notification 15 min ago too
Its just too early here, i guess i'll give it a try after backing up everything.

still, not solved, i posted there in the same topic intesd of talking in two threads on two separate forums.

Right Just thought of something you need to change your APN settings from AUTOMATIC to manual and choose your provider MANUALLY!
I kinda vaguely remember having a similar issue when I used GERMAN EU firmware before finding the proper UK unbranded generic firmware

[Q] Facebook Friendlist and Google Contact?

Hey all,
Does anyone know a direct or indirect way to import FB friendlist to the x10 contacts, then merge them with Google contacts (Same as in HTC Sense).
I did manage to link 3 of my Google contacts to their FB account manually (Contact->Edit->Link Contact). Though, I still didn't get everything from this linkage, almost nothing other than the status. It didn't import my friends' display pics and albums, not even their special events like Birthday. I am sure there is a way somehow to do so. Does anyone know it?

wait until 2.1 is out. 1.6 doesn't have this feature. my bro Moto CliQ, i also tried on LG GW620. But Nexus One can do this as its a 2.1 features.

That is good, I am looking for this feature too as I used to have it in my HD2. So now, I only use the SyncMyPix to sync the facebook profile photo and link to my contact.

i used to look for apps, then also link all my contacts to facebook and twitter manually.
after numerous amount of debrand, and root updates. and i never to backup. i don't bother to do it anymore. hehe.
previously, i even browse around all my facebook friends, take their hi res profile picture and put to xperia contacts, now i don't do it anymore. lol.
wait for 2.1.....

WARNING!! HTC Sync Manager Update

I have had BIG problems having allowed an update on HTC Sync Manager.
It trashed my Outlook contacts and repeated the corruption of all my data numerous times after HTC Support asked me to re-install and try again.
Latest support action is to remove the new version and re-install back to the previous.
SO I hope I have flagged up a useful warning and advise a good backup of all data before allowing the update on your system.

Worth noting, but this is why I have all my contacts on my Gmail account - I learnt the hard way years ago about having them in Outlook

One of the best things about Google is cloud services. I migrated all my contacts to Google looooooong ago. How else can the NSA fund out who my friends are?
On a side note, the new sync update brought Google drive functionality. Obviously more there for Max / sense 5.5 customers

Exactly why I now keep evrything on my Hard Disc and my important stuff in Ye Olde Filofaxe!
Got an update from HTC support conerning this though.

Got the same issues with updated version Sync Manager. Spoken to HTC 4 times with little satisfaction. The problem with HTC Sync Manager is that it informs you of updates and asks would you like to install them, when you choose no, sync manager then dosnt work as it says you need the latest version. My issue involves syncing between handset and PC is unstable, sometimes appointments sync to the correct day sometime they dont. Not all Contacts sync either. HTC have really fu%^$ up this one. Does anyone have a solution?

After root saved contacts are going unnamed.

Hello need help.
Recently I rooted my motog4 plus npjs25.93.14.4 and I installed some apps like freedom and **** ******. After that i have noticed some changes like my saved contacts are going unnamed and unsaved. Kindly help to troubleshoot this problem.

Eh well rooting doesn't have anything to do with changing contacts and hiding them and similar stuff. And since you are using such **illicit** apps, who knows what comes further? I personally keep my contacts synced via my Google Account so they're accessible everywhere. And please, do not use these warez and stuff. It is immoral and for sure banned on XDA Developers' forum. Read the rules, eh? You been posting similarly (that Gaana music app thing) :/

Ok I got it about warez. But my all contacts are sync with google already but my contacts are going unnamed and unsaved and don't know why.

Check with PC if there is a problem too with your contacts.

Just copy your all data ..back it up and use titanium backup for backing up apps n apps data .. n format/reset your device .. better then going for the error solution .. mother of all problem FORMAT
