Yeah, things seem to be ok now. Must have been a glitch or something.
My Facebook wont sync with my Fascinate. Says there is an error with sync and to try again later. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Update - I just did the whole erase and then added the account back at the 1 hour sync interval and it worked fine... Only a handfull of contacts arent synced which im not too thrilled about, but ill take it over nothing!

boot to clockworkmod and do a wipe of everything. This should fix your sync issue, however you will have to reaload all your apps and set up your phone again. Recommend a Titanium Backup before you do all that though. This fixed it for me.

Had a similar issue, for me i found it was my baseband. i upgraded the modem to DJ05 but was still on older ROM. When i downgraded the modem, everything was fine. Also when i re-upgraded both everything was fine too.

Not to be a total ratard... but can you give me a step-by-step to this? I just like knowing exactly what I have to do so as to not mess anything up. Thanks!
Can anyone else verify this works and/or give me a step by step to do it in newb form?

1. Turn your phone off
2. While holding both the volume buttons down press the Power button. Hold all three down until you have booted to the Hboot screen (android guys on skate boards on the bottom of the screen)
3. Let the phone search for an update (will take about 15 seconds)
4. With the volume buttons toggle down 1 space to recovery. Press the power button.
5. Phone will boot to Clockworkdmod.
6. use the volume buttons to scroll down to wipe data/factory reset and press the power button.
7. Scroll down to yes and press the power button again.
8. After wipe data/factory reset is complete, scroll down to wipe cache partition and press the power button
9. Scroll down to yes and press the power button again.
10. After cache partition wipe is complete scroll down to advanced and press the power button.
11. Scroll down once to Dalvik Cache. Press the power button.
12 Scroll down to yes and hit the power button.
13. After Dalvik Cache wipe is complete, press the menu soft key at the bottom of the phone.
14. At this point your should be back to the main menu of Clockworkmod, reboot system now should be highlighted, press the power button.
15. Phone will reboot, set up your phone again, sign into facebook again and then restore apps via titanium backup.
That worked like a charm, thanks so much!
I spoke too soon. All the sudden half my pics are gone from NY contacts and the sync is down again... any ideas? Is it something in the Super Clean ROM?

OK, I'd appreciate some help here. I Just downloaded Zenmaster's Reboot button app. I probably made a mistake by going to ROM manager and its install from SD card option.
The install started out fine, but just stalled at installing update. Left it there for 30 minutes.
I did a battery pull and the phone went into recovery except it says at the bottom of the screen:
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk01p1
(Invalid Arguement)
#MANUAL MODE#
The upper screen has the typical
reboot system now
Apply sdcard...
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
Nothing happens with either reboot system now or apply from sdcard
So I really would appreciate...what now.
Are you rooted? Do you have Clockwork Recovery installed?
Are you hitting the "Home" soft button key on the Reboot option? That's the "Enter" key for the stock recovery screen, not the Power button like it is for Clockwork.

Thanks for your response.
Yes I'm rooted and yes I have CWM.
This is embarrassing now, because I WAS NOT hitting the home button, which I should have known to do, but obviously forgot. Did that and I'm back up. Old Droid habits die hard I guess.
My apologies for using up bandwidth and thank you again.

Yeah, that's not gonna work. The app is a .apk file, which gets installed via adb or Root Manager/Astro. It's not a flashable zip.
It's also now available on the market .

Bonus. That is fantastic news.
Well naming the .zip to .apk worked and Reboot Button worked. Sort of. I think what happened here was no fault of the app, but something related to the relationship between my phone and voodoo. I had never seen any particular problem on my phone, but I just wanted a way to disable the thing as I was contemplating flashing jt's ROM.
Well the disabling of voodo lost root on my phone. I use Launcher Pro and that was gone too. So I tried reinstalling that and entered a force close loop from hell. After installing the LP, the phone regressed to the same opening screen it had when out of the box, different from the static wallpaper I had.
There is a thread on this here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/fascinate-roms-hacks/38029-how-escape-force-close-loop-hell.html
I followed that and got back to the out of the box Fascinate state. Only part of my apps, and not all of the paid ones showed up in Market, even after an overnight wait. The significant missing one is Documents to Go.
There was 0.00 space left on internal memory, so I did a factory reset.
This would not be a big deal, BUT the phone will not root, so I can't use Titanium Backup to restore stuff. The Samsung Drivers are installed, the USB cable is the one that came with the phone, and the computer recognizes the device. However, Odin seems to think the device is not connected.
So, I'm not sure what is going on with this phone of mine. Again, I don't think it is the app.
Edit; All is back to normal
If there is another method out, please forgive me. I have tried many and this is the only one to work for me.
1. Backup all data and apps with TI Backup!
2. Reboot into CWM
3. Backup your rom with CWM for the love of god!
4. Wipe data/Factory reset 3 times
5. Wipe cache 3 times
6. Wipe dalvik cache 3 times
7. Install a fresh ROM and DO NOT RESTORE DATA!!!
8. Boot into freshly installed rom and use TI Backup to batch restore everything you hold dear to you exept for Power Amp.
9. Restore Power Amp "APP ONLY" / Or install fresh copy
You will now notice that you can change songs as much as you want for as long as you want and no more errors!!!!
I hope this helps some of you out as it did for me. This also should work for any galaxy s phones as we seem to be the ones maily affected.

What is this in relation to? Is there a rom or mod that breaks it? I have been using it for about 8 months and have never had a problem. I am mostly stock with a theme, volume rocker and tws fix.

When you install a new rom and just "restore data" from CWM it somehow messes with the way power amp reads files and sees too many blank spaces or something in between songs.
Dont forget to export your contacts too, since you wont be restoring data! this is the best advice I can give. I know its a pain in the ass but all my friends with Epics, and even a fascinate bro, have done this and are now totally enjoying power amp without probs.
Ive had this issue a few times and decided to search about it... This is what I found to work without loading any data, well other than power amp settings... simply go to settings>applications>manage applications>poweramp the select clear data. Worked fine for me. i got the poweramp error, went to clear data, went back to poweramp and started listening to music.... just thought id chime in with a easier route

Power Amp is nice but retarded haha. i never had this issue the only problem i get is this license isn't valid but it is too and it was working for the past month now all of sudden you don't work, but even though the message appears i can still play music and use the app.
Hi i have a MyTouch 4G rooted with Virtuous Fusion ROM. Everything was working until when I tried to install Miui Music Player on it. I did adb push but after doing it when i unplugged the phone from my computer several Force Close came up then i rebooted my phone then the MYTOUCH Tmobile logo start up screen came then the HTC logo came then my phone will shut down. I tried to start my phone again the same thing happen. I did Hboot and tried recovery from there but it didnt work. I tried Factory Reset but it failed. I go to clockwork recovery mode if i do backup and restore or factory reset nothing happens. Does it mean my phone is gone? Is there anything i can do to fix it? Please anybody help Does this mean my phone i bricked

Great minds think alike. Hopefully that was his only problem. I have to say though, there's something pretty funny about someone thinking their phone is bricked because they're using the wrong button to make selections in recovery! I'm not making fun of anyone, but it does make my chuckle a little.

Hi thanks a lot for your help. Your Track pad solution is golden. My phone is working now. Take care and keep helping people
Glad I could help.
Haha I feel for you OP I had this problem at first (came from an EVO didn't have a trackpad) so I was confused. Didn't take much before I realized it was the trackpad inside. My new problem is my trackpad broke lol. So now I can't select anything (in the OS or in the Recovery) somehow I got the power button to work one time while I was in recovery (little white writing even came up like it does when you flash a rom that said "power button select enabled") never got this to happen again though, any ideas?

ask teejay3800 the one who helped me may be he can answer your question?
I used Titanium Backup to uninstall certain packages (not before backing them up, of course) and it seems that I uninstalled too much... Whenever I start certain applications, the phone immediately blanks - and locks.
I have to press the power button 1-2 times before the screen unlock allows me to seep my finger. And it doesn't always succeed in retaining the screen: too often, it will immediately blank and lock again.
Example of applications that make the phone lock: Titanium Backup.
Example of applications that don't blank the phone: Dialer.
I started restoring some of the packages I uninstalled yesterday with the hope that this will fix the problem. So far I tried restoring:
- hiddenmenus
- sns
- Dialer 2.2.2
-setup wizard
- syncMLsvc
But without much success yet.
Any idea which service or package are responsible for correct behavior of the phone?
UPDATE 2: I gave up and decided to flash the EC07-Nuckin-1 ROM. I repeated the entire procedure detailed here and the phone boots fine, but the problem persists - in addition to the fact that the soft menu buttons now disappeared (replaced by faint color dots - LED-like).
How could this happen? Is it possible that my phone contracted an Android virus? (it appears that the problem started immediately after installing Stay Awake from the Android Market.
OK, this is becoming insane: I did a factory reset, re-installed ec07-clean, and not only the problem persists, the settings, home, back and search buttons no longer work!
Not to mention that my account details (and everything else) are still there, even after the factory reset...
And Market won't even start.
How is this possible?
What do I do to simply start from scratch, wiping out everything and all history (except for the SD card)?

I'm not really interested in 2.1. I just don't understand why a total re-install of ec07clean.zip + ec07.tar + update.zip won't restore everything to "brand new condition". Surely there is a way to tell the phone to "forget all history". But what is it?
In the meanwhile, I managed to make the Settings (leftmost) button work, by manually restoring SDM from Titanium Backup.
Android Market now starts. But the SCREEN OFF problem persists. I am now beginning to believe that Stay Awake actually caused a permanent damage.

I understand that they aren't 100% and I am OK with that. All I want is bring the phone to that pristine state it was right after I upgraded it from DL17 to ec07clean.zip.
Is this possible at all?
I even tried the built in stock recovery 2e to do "factory restore". Didn't help.
Why doesn't it even delete my account information? This is weird.

I tried this at least 4 times. It doesn't get rid of anything. That's really puzzling.
In the meanwhile, I managed to restore my phone to a usable state (i.e. get rid of the original screen-off problem). Here is how I did it:
Settings > Display Settings > Power saving mode: UNCHECK (was checked)
Settings > Display Settings > Screen timeout: 1 minute (non was selected!)
I bet this was some remanent of that Stay Awake app.
Now, I lost quite a few productivity hours due to this. But at least now I know that this phone will always be mine, because in this particular phone, "Factory data reset" simply doesn't work.
Have you thought about using a different version of clockwork for flashing and wiping? That usually helps or perhaps stock recovery even

Mystery solved!
It turns out that it is the cyan wipe that doesn't work. The red wipe works.

* Creating and Restoring Nandroid back-ups*
Boot your phone into recovery. In case you don’t know how to do that, you can do it by simply launching ‘ROM Manager’ if you have it installed, and tapping ‘Reboot into Recovery’. In case you don’t have ‘ROM Manager’ installed, you can hold down the (volume down button and hold the power button until recovery pops up) (Please make sure fast boot is turned off by clicking menu->settings->applications->uncheck fast boot.*make sure phone is off when trying to boot into recovery*)
1.Scroll down to ‘nandroid’ or ‘backup and restore’ and enter it (by pressing the trackball or optical track pad button on most phones; could be the power button on some phones that lack a trackball or an optical track pad.)
2.Select ‘backup’, and wait patiently for the backup process to complete.
Reboot your phone, and you’re done. You now have a complete backup of EVERYTHING on your phone memory taken on your SD card.
To recover a previously taken NANDROID backup:
Follow steps 1 and 2 of the backup process.
Select ‘restore’. You will now see a list of previously taken backups.
Select the backup that you want to restore, confirming any prompts that you may see.
Wait patiently while the restore process finishes, and reboot your phone once its done. You have now restored EVERYTHING on your phone’s memory to the way it was when that backup was taken.
*HOW TO WIPE DATA FULLY*
wipe data/cache/dalvik cache
*note that in some select cases, when updating a rom with a newer version of that same rom,the developer may tell you "a full wipe is not needed" in wich case you can eliminate the data wipe. most of the time, however, its a good idea to wipe all 3 of these things
*using the volume rocker and home softkey,in the main menu in clockwork recovery:
-select "wipe data/factory reset".scroll past all the NOs and select "yes-- delete all user data"
-wait for it to say "data wipe complete". youll be back at the main menu
-select "wipe cache partition". scroll past the NOs and select "yes-- wipe cache"
-wait for it to say "cache wipe complete". youre now at the main menu again
-select "advanced"
-select "wipe dalvik cache". scroll past the NOs to "yes- wipe dalvik cache"
-wait for it to say "dalvik cache wiped". youll still be in the advanced menu,so go back
*FLASHING A ROM*
1.Download the installation package for whichever ROM you want to install. These are available on a variety of third-party enthusiast ROM development websites, but the actual ROM will always be enclosed in a ZIP file. Refer to XDA Developer's EVO 4G development forum as a starting point for some user-developed EVO 4G ROMs.
2
Use the USB cable to connect your phone and computer. Select "Disk Mode" and, through "My Computer," drag the ROM installation ZIP file onto your EVO's SD card.
3
Turn off your phone. Hold down the "Volume down" and "Power" buttons to reboot the EVO into HBOOT mode. Use the volume rocker to scroll to "RECOVERY." Press down on your EVO's physical scroll button to enter recovery mode. Here, a text menu with multiple options will be displayed in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
4
Use the volume rocker to scroll down to "Install zip from sdcard." Press the scroll button.
5
Highlight "Choose zip from sdcard" and press the scroll button. Here, your SD card's contents will be displayed, including your ROM's ZIP file.
6
Highlight the ROM's ZIP file and press the scroll button. The EVO will ask for you to confirm the installation---press the scroll button again to begin the ROM-flashing process. This will cue up an onscreen progress bar; once it disappears, reboot the EVO to finish the ROM flashing process.

That's fine and dandy, but if you wana 'compete' with the other guides, you'll have to be a lot more detailed.
