Hello,
there's this standard software from HTC on the Elfin which i don't know how it's called but its the one where you slide it from the bottom of the display to the top. And then you have this 3 Sides of a "Cube" with "Music/Photos/Videos" , Contacts and Links....
How can i deactivate this software or remove it completly?
Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Today -> Items -> uncheck the TouchFLO (or whatever it called) -> OK
and then wait for it to shutdown the cube.
You can't remove it complete from the device if you are using the original ROM.
well, ther's everything unchecked and there's no touch flo option.
I don't have a original rom. But i like this cooked rom because its hard to find a good german rom.
I have the Task Manager, but I don't find anything in the services and if i kill the process biotouch than it'll come back.
Is there a registry entry I can change? Where are the entries for every autostart?
Hi, here's one at least: HKCU\Software\HTC\BootLauncher\App , I removed all of them but make a backup anyway

You may want to take a look at this tool, one of the most valuable tools I've installed on my Polaris: 'QuickMenu' of Chinese origin. It replaces the startmenu on the windows logo, while the original windows startmenu is still available under 'Start'.
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-quickmenu-v2-7.html
Functions:
- Cascading StartMenu (fully configurable)
- Cascading Settings menu (windows mobile settings)
- TaskManager (easy switch and close functions from the startmenu)
- TaskSwitcher (create alt-tab shortcut to QM-active-next which you can map to a hardbutton)
- Hibernate/Suspend/Reboot from startmenu
- Execute ...
- SIP panel selector
- Bluetooth toggle (connectable, discoverable, off)
- Batterystatus (in percentage)
- Memorystatus (internal or memorycard)
There's no installer, unzip the archive to a 'quickmenu' folder in your program files and run the exe once. If you don't like it, delete the folder. The only issue I had with it on my previous device was that the 'Settings' menu which links to WM's personal, system and connection settings didn't work correctly, possibly because it was mapped to the 'Settings' function, in stead of the dutch 'Instellingen'. The rest of the functions worked fine.
My Polaris has an english system and QM works perfectly. Great little tool.

Thanks for this. A top tool.
Indeed a great tool, but can you disable the battery status on the upper right corner ? It is messing with the task manager and i cant close or select which program i want.
I tried disabling it from the settings of the program itself, and the battery status gets removed, but i still cant see the task manager icon.
Go into Settings/Task Manager/Button tag and re-check the "Enable Quick Menu on Today Screen"

thank you mister
On this new WM 6.1 when I'm making a call I have to slide down to see more call option such as mute mic.,turn on speaker etc. How do I disable that slide down I want it be always down so I don't have to slide it every time.....thnx
I also have same query.
Does anyone have solution?
Use Advanced Tools
Its pretty simple, I dont know whether it will work, but try it out.
Go to Advanced Config (Search around the forums if you dont have the software / cab for it) -> Phone -> Phone Skin -> Disable
Done!
I install the duck 6.5 lockscreen on my HD2 but there no effect after reboot.
I uninstall it however after reboot the default slidelock disappear.
Instead, the wm6.5 lockscreen reappeared.
How can I change back to the HTC slidelock?
Thanks a lot for any help!!
suggestion:
home screen - settings, click menu - advanced, select lock and and then the tab "screen". from the drop down menu, select the "windows standard" that is not selected (there are two in the list with identical names).
this at least works for me, changing from one lockscreen to another.
ps. these menu names and placements are translation from the norwegian ROM, so dont kill me if they are not identical
Thanks for your reply.
I've tried the two different items from the dropdown menu and both can't work. I think these setting is for the orignal screenlock for wm6.5 , not the HTC's own slidelock.
Anyway, thanks.
for me the lower one is htc's screen lock, and the upper one is the old MS one. i think i needed to soft reset to get the effect.
anyways, im sorry its not working for you
Basically, I was playing around with my new custom rom, and i accidently brought up this black screen, It has options for my phone, but as I scrolled up I could select sense 2.5/manila/titanium etc
I put it on manila or titanium which is just text like this
Messaging
phone
videos
(you navigate up and down.)
How can i get the function back?
In my opinion, you entered Titanium. So try:
Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items -> select only Touch Flo (or HTC Sense or whatever you have there)
I mean I want to know the shortcut for selecting each UI like touchflo, titanium etc.
Oh and I dont have a 'today' ??? :/
This is an easy question for some of you guys but I cant solve it,I have installed SPB mobile shell v3.5.5 and need to type in my owner id but can't find where to.I have looked everywhere.Do I have to do a hard reset and use contacts and "Me" then reinstall all my info or is there an easy way
Heres hoping.
Don
Hi Don, I had this exact issue and firstly it is possible, I did it.
Secondly I may not have done it the slickest of methods but at least this gets you there. I've tried to recall two routes depending upon where you are starting from.
a) HTC Sense UI:
If you are still in the original UI (HTC Sense) scroll sideways to the "Setting" tab. Touch the "Menu" softkey (bottom right) then "All Settings". You should then see a selection of icons from which touch "Today". That will get you to the old Today settings. See below for next steps.
b) SPB Mobile shell UI
If you are in this shell instead, hit "Launcher". You should now see an icon labled "Settings" (else swipe sideways to the second page to see it). Hit that takes you to a screen with more icons including one for "Today" with a cogwheel on the top of it. Hit that takes you to the old Today settings. Now see below.
Today Settings
Once here. Hit the "Items" tab. Remove any tick on the "HTC Sense" option (else the originally Today Screen won't appear later) and then tick the "Owner Info" option (and any others you fancy). Click on "OK" should now get you back to the old Today screen with the "Owner Info" today plugin showing. It can then be selected and the necessary info add. You can then go back into the today settings and re-tick the HTC Sense item if you want the original UI back and not the Today screen. Personally I use the SPB shell and the today screen rather than the HTC Sense.
I did this a long time ago so my recall may be a bit fuzzy for example; if the "Owner Info" isn't visible in the list of Items in the Today settings (it may not be) then you'll have to go into a reg editor (if you are comfortable doing such things) and navigate to :
[Mobile Device\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\]
Then ensure that the key "Owner Info" is present (add if necessary) and enable it (disabling "HTC Sense" at the same time as it seems to overide any other selection). If the key is missing (or you don't have a reg editor) and you need help at this level just drop me a line and I'll post a copy of my settings and suggest a few methods of accessing your registry.
Good luck.
Anybody found an easir way?

settings - menu - all settings - personal - owner
Sam,
Thanks but my phone doesn't have "owner" at the end of your sequence. I suspect Don is having the same issue (hence me originally having to go into the reg to get access to it to fix mine as nothing obvious was accessible). FYI this is independent of how I get there (through HTC Sense, SPB Shell etc).

PS I have an unlocked HD2 (none carrier specific) which looks to have originally been packaged for the German market (I'm in the UK and bought it online)
Just to add ti the conversation, my HD2 does not have the Owner when Igo to Personal either.
Ahh course, my mistake.
Hints tips reg tweaks sticky in Q&A section, tip 5 to unhide that option kindly hidden by HTC.
Thanks Mallow1 That did it,thank you all very much.I went to Today ,items and ticked HTC sense that gave me the chance to go to contacts and add the Me details.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584415 here you will find a cab called touchx show owner
The app Touch Tools will also allow you the option to have the owner in Personal.
