So I noticed now that youtube mobile now opens videos directly in the browser. Good idea, but buggy. It wont let the video go fullscreen in landscape (play controls and status bar wont go away)
Is there a way to make it so it will use the actual youtube app for videos again, not this in-browser player that force closes and, well, sucks?

Go to settings, manage applications and then go to browser and youtube and clear defaults...next time you go to a youtube video from within your browser, be sure to choose youtube app when the option comes up and check the default box.
There are no defaults set. It just opens it via browser, not the app how I would like

Hi to this great community. (this is my first post)
i searched in forum but could not find a close match so i started this thread.
i am running a local site which offer movies in a single html page which has windows media player embed in it. viewer can select a movie from drop down list and watch it in the embed media player. but i cant watch any in my galaxy s-i9000. not only my site but there are alot of tv streams which are available in wmp format.
i have already tried firefox, dolphin, opera but unsuccessful. searched for addons too but still nothing available.
so my question is, is it possible to watch embed wmp streams on galaxy s-i9000 ? or any developer here can make one app for this problem ?
you might be able to get it to work with skyfire browser from the market, not sure how it handles wmp. If at all possible, you should switch the embed format to flash or something, then android phones could see them along with Linux or Mac or anything other than windows.

Rooted 3.1. The YouTube app is taking hell lot of time to load.its buffering ....and keeps on buffering. Any other way to watch YouTube? Market search for other apps for honeycomb returned nothing. Will the Samsung app for the gamester tab 10.1 work on our Ionia?

The browser?
Yeah, the browser works fine here. Even with the HD streams. Every once in a while I find a vid where Youtube blocks "mobile" devices... I just open those up in Firefox Beta with a "Desktop Firefox" UserAgent (you have to install the addon "phony").

Thanks a lot.works great.
EDIT:dolphin for pads works better.Firefox beta, after a restart is unable to show flash videos.it says I don't have flash addon, even if I reinstalled adobe flash from market the issue is unresolved.

I'm trying to upload a video, not watch one. Also you wouldn't need Adobe flash to watch YouTube.
But don't worry, I figured out another way, just use my YouTube mobile email to send vids to and upload then from there using email.
Thanks for your help anyway.

As title, whenever i open a youtube link in facebook it will not give me the option to open with the youtube app, just my browsers firefox, dolphin, interent.
I've updated youtube to latest version.
Anyone else have this issue? fix?

I have mine show Chrome, Internet and Youtube, just fine. Maybe try uninstalling Firefox and Dolphin? Are you sure the links you are clicking are properly formatted youtube links? Sometimes strange or forwarded links are not recognized.
Maybe you have too many apps that can play the video and need to scroll down the list since its sorted alphabetically
Go into application manager and clear default on each one

I have the same issue! I have tube mate and it gives me the option to open with that and the browsers I have installed, but not YouTube! And I have no defaults on any of the apps offered or YouTube. Its weird why it won't give me the option! But I did find that if I open it in Firefox, when I click play in the browser, it gives me the option to open in YouTube. A long way to get there!
