I think it will be fair, that we download the programm from the site of the developer.
So you can visit his site and register in the forum. I think he will do many updates of this small goodie, so he need some of our support. If everyone can download the proggie from anywhere else, its possible that he will not put more development power on it.

i think this is not correct, but without xda-developers i have no information for build this Application.

thanks bongo user, I think you programmed a great tool. helped a lot to me even though I can't check whether hsdpa is really working because there is no specific sign (h instead of u for example) on the hermes to see whether I am in hsdpa or in normal umts.

i have downloaded the software, but have no idea as to what to do with what i have downloaded.
I unpacked the file, amd it is just a bunch of cab files... Unfortunately, I am not sure as to how to proceed from there in order to get the program to work on my Tytn...
Can anyone please help me out? I am new to pocketpc devices in general and don't know my way around yet...

Copy this cab file to your device.
run this cab file like an "EXE File.
Then it installed my App.

That's a nice tool.
However, I chose to remove the communications manager from the system tray, but now the battery icon is gone too, even though I have not checked that box. And I actually like the battery indicator.
Checking and unchecking the battery indicator checkbox yields no results. Do you have any suggestions?

Sorry BongoUser, I just wanted to make it easy for non german speakers... you can delete the account if you want.
I also updated the wiki information with fit4cat Hermes Tweaker:

I copied it via activesync to my documents folder on the tytn.....
When i open the file i see a bunch of little files that cannot be opened since they are not associated with any programs...
Can you please give me a step by step instruction as to getting this program working? Thanks again!
EDIT: got it! i was unzipping the file before sending it to the ppc, when i should just have sent the file over as it came

How you open this file ??
Double Click in File Explorer will install it.
don't unpack it with winzip....
Next release i make a setup.exe for windows pc's.

You can also have a look at Universal and Wizard registry tweaks, most of them are generic WM5 tweaks, not device specific.

Hi Bongouser..
All i had to do was to copy the file over to my documents folder in the pocket pc WITHOUT unzipping it.
I then clicked on the file in the pocketpc and it installed...
I think my problem was that i was looking for an exe file somewhere to click on to install the program..
It works great though!
I do have a question about the sound quality adjustment for the bluetooth headphones...
what is the default setting from the factory for this on the Tytn?? I am just trying to compare the different levels to the standard so that i can decide which I like best.

Uncheck the Checkbox, then default will be set.

Would anybody so kind to extract it from one of the new HTC devices' ROM?
As far as I know HTC Love and Athena have it in-built.

Please someone extract the media hub from the artemis roms (pdamobiz and others froms)
For ctibor: audiomanager gives you an ipod-like interface for the songs. This mean an interface where you can have yours songs by artist,album,....and a little and very simple player which permits to play the sound chosen.

This is not working at all on my P3300. It does not install properly and just sticks itself into the Windows folder on the device, despite telling it to install on the SD card! Looking at the XML, it does not look like a "proper" install package and there are no reg entries. When you start the program, all you get is a RC Load Failed message and a blank error box!
Lets hope that HTC include a "full" version of Media Hub on the WM6 upgrade ...

Give us the cab file please so that we could find a way to get it work properly

There is a .cab file modified(Audio manager only) for all devices in the Hermes wm6 forums.

It is strange that you are the second person who say that.
We aren't looking for the audiomanager.
We want htc media hub (which audiobooster)
WE DON'T WANT AUDIOMANAGER BECAUSE IT WAS ALREADY POST ON THE FORUM

Ok.On the archive i attach Audio Manager version 1.2 and a code page language.Once installed the program it needs to rename the file Windows\AudioManager.exe.0409.mui with the code appropriate of the rom lang.
Ex:My rom is ITA-->AudioManager.exe.0410.mui

Didn't test on artemis because i have trinity(don't work on it).
It should work it has been extracted from artemis rom with media hub

in that cab they miss some components that don't make work this program.

i dont seem to have any ring tones ?? only silent ? also a can seem to get a message tone alert !?

Had the same issue myself so I just went to the market and downlaoded an app called ringtones... neat little tool that lets you pick any of your mp3 files and crop a section of them to use as a ringtone for any individual or to use as the default tone.. On the downside I don't seem to be able to hear anyone today and they cant hear me.. doh

Same here having the same problem. Tried all kind of ways like download tone picker and select a tone from there, go to music and set a song as ringtone, moved media folder to root of sdcard, reboot my phone but all cant At the most after rebooting, the phone only ring only 1 secs and goes back to slient again and cant even vibrate too.. But yet i can received sms with a tone with vibration..
Any kind souls to help?

Hi, thanks to all.. Finally found the problem y i cant get my incoming call ringtone. I AM SO STUPID! After i tried and tried and even ask u guys for help, the main problem is there's an application been blocking my incall tone which is glocker. after i uninstall it, i can received my call with ringtone already.

Tried to download the media.zip , extracted it to my Android folder, rebooted - still no ringtones at all.
Also tried putting it in the root of the SD card, still nothing
Also tried to call the folder audio.

Hey, that's fine, I've found the reason why my phone stopped to ring : an app not compatible with version 2.2.1 called NetQin Mobile Manager v3.2 ! I just uninstalled it and my phone found back his voice ! lol !

First you need to do this...

[Q] Flashed to 7.8 - whats next?

Hi!
First of all - thanks for everyones hard work and contribution to the windows phone platform! I havent tried unlocking my device before but figured it was no point in waiting for samsung anymore. And if the device gets bricked - it would be a good reason to buy a W8 device
Anyway. I flashed the "WP7.8_7.10.8858.13 6_NT_18L_V1_by_ansar" and everything seems to work fantastic!
So. What to do now? I would like to try and sideload apps and all that..But Im not sure where to look or what kind of xap-installer to use or anyting. If homebrew works or... Also, it would be cool to test the Nokia apps - I understand it is possible to change the "device name" with a registry editor app?
I would be thrilled if someone could point me in the best direction to be able to discover and.....re-imagine

I'll point you in the right direction though.
Google "Bazaar" which is a homebrew app marketplace. On XDA if you see a .XAP (WP7 app) attachment you can "Click for QR code" then if you go to Bing search on your phone, click vision and point it at your computer screen, the app will download to your phone thanks to the custom ROM you've installed.
Registry editors etc are available on Bazaar.
Some Nokia apps are available in the WP7 Development & Hacking - Apps & Games section of XDA.

Do i understan correctly the rom is deliberately locked and that I need root tools to unlock?
Tried to install apps from bazaar - but it claims my device isnt fully unlocked. Do I need to start with bazaar for PC to be able to install root tools and then give permission to bazaar? Because I installed root tools - but it also demands unlocking.

See if there is a program installed called Root Manager. This is basically the permissions app, go into it and toggle Bazaar and any other apps you install to allow them to have root access, which they need.

Phew! Finally got wp7 root tools 1.0 to work. Dont know why it didnt work the first time. JMaybe because I downloaded it from the computer and sent it to the phone. This time I just went to wp7roottools.com on the phone and downoaded and installed.
Bazaar, here I come.
Btw, whats next after that?

What should be the build version which can be rooted
Does this "WP7.8_7.10.8858" indicate the build version ?

Not sure I understand you correctly..Do you mean a required version to be able to flash from? You need to flash the MAGLDR so I dont think it will matter wich version you have, pre-flash.

After you have the registry editor installed, what entry do you need to modify to change the device name?
