A quick outline that you can use:
Name of the ROM
Version of the ROM
Summary
Kernel you are running with your ROM
Any extra modifications that doesn't come with the ROM
Pros
Cons
Any screen shots if available

ROM: Onyx
Version: 4.2
Summary:Basically a smooth Froyo based ROM developed by Team Whiskey. Its the TouchWiz-less brother ROM of Obsidian ...the best ROM i ever had....in my opinion the best one out there.
Kernel: ULF(Universal Lag-Fix) - Ported from the i9000 ROMS...
Extra Mods: BlackFroyo Theme, JI6 modem
Pros: Too many to list....never had a problem with freezing and the ROM is super fast without any lagfixes and is lightning with a lagfix..it even comes with the modified ULF..thanks to the ULF kernel....you may pick the lagfix you want....ranging from OCLF, simple EXT2 or EXT4, are even Overkill JFS which i am running now.
Cons: I was 1/20 people that got their internal SD cards wiped...this was a kernel issue not a ROM issue...the warning was present but not attention grabbing....a PC backup is recommended.

[Tweak] Froyo XWJPA/XXJPP - minimize lag

Note: lag is very subjective, each individual has their own view, I just want to share my experience here. This tweak may or may not work for you
My Froyo version:
Baseband: I9000XXJPP
Build Number: FROYO.XWJPA
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #6 (indicates Froyo with Voodoo5 beta Pre6)
Launcher: TwLauncher (default)
I had voodoo5 beta Pre6 installed on my Froyo, but I still feel that the performance is still not as good as my previous ROM (Eclair XWJM9, Tayutama full version + voodoo4 beta + OC + Spare Parts + LauncherPro).
After Install Spare Parts, I make the following setting change, and now I feel* that my Froyo is better in response (by reducing the animation waiting time)
Download Spare Parts from market

}
Launch Spare Parts, under General > Window Animations, adjust it from "Normal" to "Fast"
DONE.
You can chane the Transition Animation speed too if you want to.
Of course, changing launcher will help, I do like some feature comes with TwLauncher (not a fans to look for application by alphabetica order, prefer grouping).
Hopes this will help, maybe you can leave a msg or feedback / or vote to see if this works for you.
* This is very subjective, I do not have any figure or benchmark to support this.

[Q] Which ROM to use?

Hey guys. I'm looking for feedback since I'm STILL a Hero user and idk what you guys have been up to I'll likely root g/f's Epic after she decides to keep it and I was wondering what's everyone's favorite ROM to use and what should I be looking to do with this thing to help make it better? Thx
I like bonsai rom v1.1.4 on the dk28 froyo leak. To speed the phone up if you decide to flash the froyo leak is to change the filing system from Rfs to ext4 and then disable journaling. That is my setup and it's very snappy and fast. But this is only available if you use the dk28 rom. Have fun flashing
I was running Bonsai w/ext4 for a while and it was good but I went back to 2.1 and I'm really happy. 3D games don't play very well on dk28 roms (especially Dungeon Defenders), and gaming is one of the reasons I went with a Galaxy S. Plus I've been getting really good battery life with Syndicate and Phoenix kernel and its really fast. GPS worked 100% on DK28, and strangely enough 100% on 2.1...
Your best bet is to try a couple before you get commited to one...All of them are stable, and Ive tested all but 2 of the newer ROMs.

This is my favorite ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=904787
We've had numerous "best ROM" / "which rom" threads, and they always turn out the same way. No one rom is the best, but one may fit your needs more than others.
Please search before making a new thread. There are numerous threads discussing this same topic.

[MOD] Jetstream Theme for Thor's Galaxy Rom.

Hey everyone, just wanted to share a Jetstream theme that I have adapted to work on Thor's Galaxy Rom. I was orginally created by bOOsted over on the Galaxy 10.1 forum(Thanks for the Great themes bOOsted). Flashed the attached file in recovery and reboot. I'm sure you are asking why Thor's galaxy, well because it is a freaking good, stable rom.

I cannot post link here but same website where you got his 14.2. Also highest kernel of his that you can go up to is v1.5-1.6. Can find 1.6 where you click on the 1.5 link. Using those combinations was a smooth rom for myself.
