here are my APN Settings:
Name: Orange UK
APN: orangeinternet
MMS Protocol: Wap 2.0
MNC: 33
APN Type: default,supl
Rest are blank.
Any ideas?
cheers
Matt

JasJar and US T-mobile GPRS settings

I just got a new unlocked T-mobile branded JasJar this morning, and when i inserted the SIM card (US t-Mobile Voice and GPRS) the GPRS settings were blank. now, i've used this SIM in a pocketpc phone edition, and a smartphone - and i never had to set trhe GPRS settings they were setup by the SIM. also i have used the smartphone as a bluetooth modem with an iPAQ and all i had to set on the iPAQ was the APN (internet2.voicestream.com). unfortunately the same doesn't seem to work with the JasJar. i configured a GPRS setting, and set rhe APN to internet2.voicestream, left the user/password blank like other instances; but it didn't work
i've searched for the info, but all i find is U.K t-mobile settings. and it seems to be a JasJar specific problem since i have't had it on other devices. the lack of posts suggest i'm doing something stupid... but i don't know what it is
Any help appreciated!
Thanks!

ok i was being a bonehead i used the WORK connection instead of the internet connection.
Thanks!

Here are the settings for MMS on the T-Mobile USA network...

X10a on ATT 3G (Can't get any data connection 2g/3g) Help :(

Hey guys,
I just got my X10a and unlocked it. I popped in my SIM card and I can call and text and so forth, but i'm not getting ANY Data connection...
I tried going to the Network settings where you can choose your network, and there were 2 networks, ATT DR (data roaming?? no idea) and the ATT. I can connect to the ATT DR but not ATT (it gives me a error stating: "This SIM card does not allow connection to this network).
I live in California and wondering if anyone in this area has solved this or even have this issue? I called ATT but they were of no help, all they can keep telling me is that is because the phone is not ATT branded. But I had used a Nokia N900 on ATT and it got Edge at least....
Any ideas? Greatly appreciated.
You need to go into your settings and manually enter the AT&T apn settings.

What is the difference between AT&T DR and AT&T? Does the DR mean the phone will always be roaming whether it's calls or data?
network operator: AT&T DR
network mode: GSM/WCDMA preferred
APN settings:
name: AT&T
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: leave blank
Port: leave blank
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
Server: leave blank
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication Type: leave blank
APN type: leave blank
hope this helps

Maybe APN - manually or automatically from SE:
Settings > Sony Ericsson > Settings download
Download settings for Internet and MMS
You'll get settings for your current carrier, so - for ATT.

[Q] Settings for O2 - internet, mms etc???

Hi All
I've finally got my Desire z, which is my first android phone and I'm having trouble with it.
Firstly, my network o2 in the uk, don't support the phone so can't send through settings for internet etc. Secondly I have tried several sets of APN settings I've found online but none of them have worked.
ALso, despite having connected to my wireless network, I still can't get internet or anything working.
At one point for a couple of minutes, I did have my location and weather showing but now that is not working either.
So far my experience of the phone is nothing but disappointment as I can't do anything with it yet
Can anyone help me?
I'm on O2 UK myself and it took me a while to get it right, but here's what I have and it all works okay (both standard Internet data as well as MMS)
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names
You need to create two APNs, delete everything else you might have:
Name: O2 GPRS (or anything you want)
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
Proxy: <Not set>
Port: <Not set>
Username: mobileweb
Password: password
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: <Not set>
MMS proxy: <Not set>
MMS port: <Not set>
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0 (Because you can't unset this)
MCC: 234
MNC: 10
Authentication type: PAP
APN type: default
Name: O2 MMS (or anything you want)
APN: wap.o2.co.uk
Proxy: 193.113.200.195
Port: 8080
Username: o2wap
Password: password
Server: <not set>
MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
MMS proxy: 193.113.200.195
MMS port: 8080
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 234
MNC: 10
Authentication type: PAP
APN type: mms
And that's all you need to do. It'll use the first connection for regular Internet and will automatically use the second one with the MMS details when needed. I tried to combine them into a single APN, but wasn't ever able to get a fully working solution so I just gave up as the two APN method above works.
Unfortunately O2 send "small" photo messages if they don't recognise the useragent of your phone and I think they're still doing that, but I haven't done much testing with this. Sadly if that is the case there isn't anything you can do except hack your MMS UserAgent (I don't yet know how to do this) or wait for O2 to hopefully add it to their system.
Thanks for those, I did manage to get it working in the end last night.
The problem was that although my phone was connected to my wireless network, it was unable to access the internet (any one got any ideas why?). Cos the wifi was connected the phone wasnt even trying to use the mobile internet settings.
Once I turned off wifi, the mobile internet worked fine.
Now my problem is why my router wasn't letting the phone connect to the internet but allowed it to connect to wifi?
After a restart of the router it all worked fine for a little while (maybe half an hour) then it stopped working again...

The firewall in your router ?
My Desire Z prompted me when I put the SIM in what settings to use.
It didn't have the O2 Mobile Web APN though, just the MMS one. Internet (HSDPA / 3G) was working out of the box. Have added it now and it seems my internet is quicker / more reliably*
Regards
Craig
*As quick and as reliable as O2's 3G data network can be.. Voice n text is always fine.

I've disabled the firewall and still nothing, the phone connects to the wireless but can't see the internet at all.
I'm completely at a loss as to what the problem might be, I'm guessing it's something to do with the router but have no idea what or how to solve it.
MAC filtering on the router?

The exclamation mark in the network display which displays the signal strength of the cellular network in the status bar, simply means that you are not connected to the mobile Internet. Config again/Enable the mobile Internet on your Android Lollipop 5.0 Smartphone and the exclamation mark will disappear in the status bar. Why this feature has been implemented, is not to say. Unfortunately, it can not be disabled at the moment with the current versions of Android Lollipop 5.0.

You might have wiped your APN settings.
Go to Network Settings, choose Access Point Names and enter the APN for your network (Globe).
Here they are (copied from the Globe community forum):

- Proxy: <not set>
- Username: <not set>
- Password <not set>
- Server <not set>
- MMSC <not set>
- MMS Proxy <not set>
- MMS Port <not set>
- MCC:515
- MNC: 02
- Authentication type: <not set>
- APN type: internet if it is a selection or "default, SUPL" if it needs to be type.
