Cannot do "Software update" after firmware update

Hi,
I updated my p7510 that i bought in canada (xac) with firmware xwkg7. I live in germany and wanted a european version of the fw.
I did the following:
-Update tab (pit, bootloader, csc, code) using P7510XXKFC
-Update tab (code) using P7510XWKG7
After the update recovery gave me strange error messages (/preload cannot be mounted and so on). However, I installed CWM, so I do not have these errors anymore.
I also did factory reset, wipe cache...
However, since I updated the firmware I cannot use "about tablet->software update->update" anymore. I always get the following error message:
"Failed to update firmware due to network or server problem. Try software update later (Setting->Software update->Update) or using PC software (Kies)"
Before the update this worked just fine (although no update could be found). I dont have network problems, as I can browse, chat etc.
Since the update Kies is also not showing my current firmware version on my tab.
I guess it has something todo with the country where I bought the tab (canada) and the rom that i used to update (europe version)?
Do you know or have ideas how I could fix this problem?
I dont like the feeling that somwthing is not working on my tab
Thanks!
Klaus
Try to reflash the stock recovery with odin and factory reset, that will recreate the needed data structure on the tab and try again.
Or maybe its because you mixed incompatible code/csc.
Start over.
I found the solution.
I described it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1280069
In short: csc files were completely missing. This caused all my trouble.
Hope this will help someone.
Klaus
I have the same problem.
So if I want to fix I have to install csc and PDA files at the same time?
Does that mean all my data will be erased?
Could I just use csc?
Where can I find these files?
Sorry for the 1000 questions!
I am currently on vacation and can not tell you the firmware versions, but at Sammy firmware I found two European rom versions. One had also a csc file that I flashed.
Flashing the original csc file with Odin will do a factory reset. You could also download a custom rom, extract the csc stuff and copy it to /system,if you want to avoid factory reset. You have the choice
But if you use an original PDA/code file and flash it with Odin, csc files are not included and must be added afterwards somehow!

[Q] 5.0 Update Failure

Hey guys, so I used SuperSU to unroot (which may not have been necessary) and then used Odin to flash back to a stock ROM of 4.4.4. I keep trying to download and install the Lollipop update OTA, and although the download is successful, when I install the update it boots and starts to upgrade before displaying "Error!" and the Android on its back with the front flap open - it then restarts and the system tells me that the update failed.
I could really use some help with this issue, as I've flashed back to stock several times and the update just continues to fail. I'll include the information from the About section of my device. I did verify that there is no root as well, so could it be that I have the wrong stock ROM flashed? Any help would be great. Thanks!
Baseband Version: G900VVRU1ANK7
Kernal Version: 3.4.0, [email protected] #1, Mon Mar 31 13:30:24 KST 2014
Build Number: KTU84P.G900VVRU1ANK7
SE for Android Status: Enforcing, SEPF_SM-G099V_4.4.2_0011, Mon Mar 31 13:30:07 2014
Hardware Version: G900V.05
Security Software Version: MDF v1.0 Release 3, VPN v1.4 Release 2
Same issue here.
I too have this problem; however, I was a fool and simply attempted to update without unrooting or flashing first -- though I was coming from a stock ROM.
Have you tried a full wipe / factory reset? I'm hoping that will fix this...
I was able to get the first update to install however the second one fails everytime. Any idea's?
Same issue here. First update went through no problem, second update downloads, starts to update and fails after 15 seconds or so, reboots and gives the update failed message with a 402 error.
I did try a factory reset and full wipe and still the same issue.
The previous update a few months ago (I can't remember when exactly) I had the same issue and a factory reset worked then to get the update through.
I had this problem when trying to update from NI2 to NK2, although my solution for that was flashing a rooted NK2 rom. For this one you can either a. reroot and flash a rooted version via Safestrap and then Odin the OA8 firmware or b. flash a full stock NK2 tar through Odin and then take the OTA from that. Both of these methods don't require factory wipe (I think) so you shouldn't lose any data.

Galaxy SM-G7102 not able to root

I am having difficulties in rooting my device. Tried several types of root for couple of days, non worked. Now I need some help.
SM-G7102
JELLY BEAN 4.3
Baseband version:G7102ZTUANG1
Kernal version: 3.4.0.2812015
Build number: JLS36C.G7102ZTUANL1
I have tried so far on Odin:
CF-Autoroot
Philz Touch
Both returned successful, but when root checking done it says not rooted.
USB Debug, Unknown sources, PC drivers for Samsung all have been checked and setup.
When I tried to flash SuperSU-v2.46, it says "Failed to verify whole-file signature"(i guess this is due to unrooted device)
Please help.
Solved!
Very strange, I manage to download a firmware from sammobile, which has different PDA & CSC numbers but same model and update my device with Android 4.4.2. using Odin.
I then go on to flash CF Root and it was successful.
So, in my opinion, firmware update will simply clear existing ROM and update with new one which will be able to root. People with rooting difficulties may try this technique.

How to update yd-206

I just puchased a yotaPhone 2 and as all of us know there is no native update button in phone ,i downloaded firmware through yotaflasher but cannot find it in my PC and showing error ..where to download the firmware from and where to place it for flashing the firmware, can anyone please provide me detail instructions on how to flash lollipop on this phone . thanks in advance!
Yotaflasher should take care of all that, it stores firmware in the firmware sub folder. There is no need to look at anything. Just select download zip, then select flash in yotaflasher.
Try repeating it.
For detailed instructions, plz read the other posts on this Yotaphone group .
Also don't forget too put your phone in download mode! And make sure windows finds the drivers for the phone or you'll be really frustrated!
hi,i tried to upgrade to Lolipop but now i'm stuck.Using adb devices finds my device connected but when i write adb sideload <filename.zip> does nothing and after a while i get the message in my phone E:footer is wrong E:signature verification failed.
I have tried with 4 different firmwares ..same result.Any ideas please? i'm stuck in the Android system recovery and can't do anything with the phone.
Don't sideload the zips from the yota ftp - they can't be flashed like that.
Instead use yotaflasher. If needed delete the folder where yotaflasher is installed on your PC, then reinstall it again.
In YotaFlasher download latest RU firmware, put the phone in download mode ( power+ volume down) and start flashing.

- I bought YD206 CN firmware(4.4.4) and downloaded the latest firmware(5.0) under CN directory of YOTA firmwares and successfully installed it using Yotaflasher.
- After upgrading, model number reflects YD201 and the build number - LRX21M.5.0.0-HK1.1.124d
My question is can I flash the latest RU build on the firmware mentioned above?
Thanks in advance.
You need to flash RU 124 and then update with OTA to RU 134.
So in conclusion If I have HK 2006 phone Is better to upgrade to 5.0.0-HK1.1.66.zip and after that need to flash again if I want EU or RU version, never do that directly because would be problems.
I yotaflashed yd206 from HK 4.4.4 kitkat to latest Russian kit kat, then did an OTA to get the latest Russian lollipop firmware. No problems, but there is a long wait at the yotaphone animation for 5 minutes after lollipop upgrade.
I had no problems with radio (frequency bands) on newly configured Yd201 but I live in Asia.

So you say is better to upgrade the firmware from HK 4.4 to RU 4.4 and then i flash the firmware again with 5.-.-0?
No, only 1 flash is required using my method, HK4.4 -> RU4.4
You can then update RU4.4 kitkat -> RU1.1.124 lollipop by OTA (Over The Air) because it can then be updated directly in the phone settings. This OTA must be done anyway in order to get to latest RU version.
The size of the OTA is 1GB, a huge download. During the first boot up of the lollipop, there is a very very long wait for lollipop to start for the first time, where it updates all your apps to new lollipop format. Be patient at the yotaphone animation during first lollipop boot up.
I'm not saying my method is better, I only use this method because I read here that a few people had problems flashing directly from HK 4.4 -> RU 5.0 But Many people have successfully flashed direct from HK4.4 -> RU1.1.124
Forgot putting the phone in download mode

Problems after flashing with Odin

Hi,
I have a G935F of the S7 Edge from German T-Mobile which I have debranded using the latest Android 6.01 DBT-Version from SAMMobile and then updated to Android 7 in March (G935FXXU1DQB3).
Somehow I didn't receive and online updates so I have tried to flash the latest version with the latest updates which is G935FXXU1DQEF.
Strangely after flashing the update I was notified that there was an additional update available that I should install which downgraded automatically to the initial version G935FXXU1DQB3 again.
The only thing I was unsure was the CSC part of the firmware.
When I flashed the HOME_CSC_DBT file I got a query for a password at startup of the phone (I didn't configured it for a password before). Then flashing the CSC_DBT file the phone booted up normally.
Can someone explain how to get the latest update of Android 7 on my phone?
Cheers,
TheDemon
