I am having difficulties in rooting my device. Tried several types of root for couple of days, non worked. Now I need some help.
SM-G7102
JELLY BEAN 4.3
Baseband version:G7102ZTUANG1
Kernal version: 3.4.0.2812015
Build number: JLS36C.G7102ZTUANL1
I have tried so far on Odin:
CF-Autoroot
Philz Touch
Both returned successful, but when root checking done it says not rooted.
USB Debug, Unknown sources, PC drivers for Samsung all have been checked and setup.
When I tried to flash SuperSU-v2.46, it says "Failed to verify whole-file signature"(i guess this is due to unrooted device)
Please help.
Solved!
Very strange, I manage to download a firmware from sammobile, which has different PDA & CSC numbers but same model and update my device with Android 4.4.2. using Odin.
I then go on to flash CF Root and it was successful.
So, in my opinion, firmware update will simply clear existing ROM and update with new one which will be able to root. People with rooting difficulties may try this technique.

Hello everyone, before I continue I will give my phone details below:
Model Number: GT-I9505
Andriod version: 4.4.2
Baseband version: I9505XXUFNC5
So my problem is that I followed a guide to rooting my Galaxy S4, after which Odin confirmed to me that my phone had passed the rooting setup, all very good. The problem occurs when checking to see if my phone had successfully being rooted, I downloaded Root Checker Basic which informed me that my phone actually isn't rooted.
So as anyone would do they start the rooting process again, to which the same outcome repeated.
I can not post the link to the guide I used, the website I followed was ibtimes. The guide I followed is named 'Root galaxy s4 (LTE) I9505 on Official Andriod 4.2.2 Kitkat Firmware.
The link above is the guide I used.
So my question is, has anyone else come across this in the past? I did a brief search in the forums prier to posting this but came to no avail.
Thank you for any and all help with regards to my problem!
1. Try to root ur phone 2 times with same method u used.
2. Always KNOX app will block SuperSU app. You will have to freeze or delete KNOX app.
As requested I deleted the KNOX app and tried a Root, it has again come up with the same results, quoting from the SuperSU app 'There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!'
I can not think as to what I am doing wrong.
Update:
I have factory reset my phone, and tried the root again to which the results are the same, Odin doesn't go yellow, it goes blue but some people say this can be due to different versions.
I have got usb debugging enabled, the battery is charged. This is really frustrating as I was wanting to get put a ROM on my phone today haha.
If anyone has any further advice that will be much appreciated!
Have you tried flashing CWM Recovery to your phone? When exiting CWM if you're not rooted, it'll tell you and ask if you want to root. Select Yes then go back into Android and check your SuperSU.
Otherwise, you could always try use Odin to flash one of Djembys pre-rooted stock roms?
If you're just wanting to flash a custom rom, then you could just download a custom rom, put it on your phone internal storage (or external SD), flash a custom recovery and then flash the rom? That's worked for me in the past.
Try to root again with odin and if your recovery say anything like ''fix root'' always say no
So basically my phone does not work with odin anymore. I had my phone rooted both on KitKat and on the first build lollipop for the 910f. But it all changed when I upgraded to the newest build BOC3. I used CF-Auto Root. It gave me a fail with error "(Complete) Write operation failed.".
So I though it must not work with the latest lollipop, I flashed back the older version and tried it again which came to the same result. I tried older version of the file and also tried flashing TWRP and CWM recovery all failing with the same error. I tried changing cables and USB ports, no difference. Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: After hours of searching it turns out the problem was that I had the reactivation lock on which prevented me from flashing anything but official samsung firmware. God damn so much trouble from such a small setting.
Hello , I'm seriously in need of your help. I bought this samsung galaxy s4 (gt-19500) just yesterday. it was running on android version 5.0.1, unrooted. i was able to root with kingo root pc. i then tried to replace the the kingo superuser with supersu by downloading android terminal and running the commands ( su, sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh). after that i was prompted to update supersu binaries. it took like 10 minutes but still couldn't update so i restarted my phone. the phone got into boot loop. I've tried updating firmware with both kies and kies 3 but they tell me to check device model after ive input it correctly ( GT-19500 or SHC-1545). Ive tried using odin but still to no avail. i downloaded twrp recovery for gt 19500 from galaxys4root.com. when i select the .tar file , odin hungs and never responds again. ive downloadd other cmw files from other websites but whenever i try flashing them with odin it fails by saying "fail (auth). ive tried abd sideload and i get "e: signature verification failed..). i tried and s4 lolipop rom on xda forumss but while flashing with odin , it fails and my phone displays "unsupported device type". please help me . i bought phone just yesterday. I'm now stock recovery.
Hi,
Could you boot into download mode and see what's device model you're using?

Hey,
I wanted to root my Galaxy S4 i9505 using CF-auto root. I cheked the version of my s4 i9505 which was i9505xxuhoj2, then go to https://desktop.firmware.mobi/ find my device model and exact same build (i9505xxuhoj2). I generated cf auto root file, boot phone in bootloader mode, unzip file and used odin (which was in that zip file too) to flash this generated file (using AP). Odin gives me FAIL and I cant boot my phone normally because of error during start (firmware upgrade encountered an issue please select recovery mode in kies).
So I flashed stock firmware (using Odin) with another build. This time i9505xxupqg1. Everything went well my S4 was running normally. So i decided repeated the procedure. Go to https://desktop.firmware.mobi/ and genereate cf auto file (this time for build i9505xxupqg1). I flashed the cf auto root file using odin and again it gives me FAIL.
Below screen of that FAIL:

Can anyone help me with this?
Why this is happening ?
Cheers
Flash back to stock, flash twrp, flash supersu from twrp.
Thanks for reply.
I did this earlier what you said and everything was OK.
I had TWRP and Root using SU.
The problem isnt rooting itself.
The point is i wanted to tested rooting with CF-AutoRoot method.
And I'm wondering what am I doing wrong.
I did everyting correctly (exact same device model and build version) and ODIN gives me FAIL like i said above.
If Odin is failing, try a different version of Odin, a different USB cable, and different USB port.
I got the same problem with a Sprint Note Edge that I tried to root the same way. I'm currently downloading the stock firmware from sammobile.com to flash a stock ROM.

Hello
You do not need to generate a CF-AutoRoute, just google and download the original CF-AutoRoute.zip which roots ALL versions of the device, the baseband does not matter.
Ensure debugging is enabled
Place device into recovery (download)
Add device to Odin
Unzip the file, add the .md5 file to Odin and flash, job done.
I'm using the following in an attempt to root my Samsung A5. /device:173 <--extension from firmware[period]mobi
My OS is:
Android Nougat 7.0 Latest version
I get a pass from ODIN, but the root check fails consistently. I've tried using the latest version of ODIN but the problem persists. Is there simply no proper root for this version and phone combo yet?
What am I doing wrong?
