Ok...something has been bothering me and I'm not sure if its just my device...or are all G2's like this.
The menu bar above the track pad...is it supposed to light up everytime you touch them? Or just when its dark?
I have LED Me installed...but don't know if its that or not.
Sorry...kind of a stupid question...but that kind of stuff bothers me..wanna make sure my G2 is right.

Not on mine. They work even when not lit up.

They work even when not lit.
.but they don't light IP all the time..that's what I'm wondering...are they supposed to light up all the time once you touch them? Or is it a light sensor thing?

Light sensor. It is kind of odd because the sensor on our device sucks.

I noticed today that the 4 capacitive buttons at the bottom of the phone were not all lit up as they're supposed to be. There seems to be light coming from the search button and starts to carry over into the back button but the home and menu buttons are an off white color and dont seem to be getting lit up. Any suggestions?
I seem to have the same problem. I'm on OTA 2.3.4. It could be a model that I did, but I can't remember doing anything that might have done it.

Im on kenns beta 4 of 2.3.4 and I have the problem I don't know

There are reasons why this build is called "beta". I'm on official 4.1.83 and have no such issue, anyone does?
Mine seem to be working fine. I know that they work with the light sensor. Try covering it up for a few seconds (to the right of the earpiece) to see if they work.

Hey guys obviously I'm having a problem that my green/red led doesn't shut off it just continues to stay on. I was wondering of there is a way I can turn off led notifications or disable the led all together? I'm running cm7.
Thanks in advance

And I don't mean just like turn it off through settings, because that does not work. Is there any way to actually turn it off through terminal or adb?

Dont mean to sound harsh - when did you get it wet?
That would make so much more sense but I haven't put it to test really with water. It just started happening out if nowhere
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
lol. Notice how I didn't ask you "IF" you got it wet, but "when"?
I see this all the time. All it takes is a drop of rain or steam from the shower.
You have the same problem with different roms? 99% of the time something like that is water damage or some other hardware issue.
Also, there's no way to do it with ADB.
Is there anyway to keep the hardware button lights on with the screen? I find my phone really difficult to use at night.
I haven't found anything to make them stay on for as long as the screen is on, but this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037102&highlight=hd2+toolbox gives you up to 60 seconds if you set it for that time.
Too funny, I have the opposite problem. Every sense rom I have ever run keeps the keypad lights on as long as the screen is on. Running daekins rom with sybrians sense. 35 kernel. One thing you can look into is the build.Prop I don't have the list with me but there is one in there that should do just that.

Anyone else got this? Basically, when the phone screen isn't moving, such as when I'm reading some text, the screen flickers. For example, whenever I'm reading a post on xda, the white background around the text starts to flicker, and it is really noticeable in the dark while just reading posts in my rom thread, and its very distracting. (Happens when keyboard is open and closed)
Anyone else have this? Anyone know what part I should buy to replace it?

i had this a few months ago and now the phone is on low all the time cant turn up, the brightness it still flickers a bit brighter every now and then.
if you have the same as me it isnt the screen i was thinking its was the ribbon cable and couldnt find a cheap replacement based on a hunch,
now i seen more people getting this i would guess its the driver board for the screen,
not looked in to this though and dont want to folk out money on a phone i am looking to replace as soon as the driod 4 gets GSM.

So, I just found out the G2 has a 2nd LED on the back power button. Some reason, mine isnt lighting up. Could be because I am on CM11 and that option is not available when editing contacts. Anyway, is there a way to get that back?
I know light flow in the play store has the option on controlling secondary leds on the device. I have not tested it though. Worth a shot though.
