[Help!] No network connection - Galaxy Tab General

Ok I was messing around this morning on my US Cellular Tab and decided I would try something. I Also have a Samsung galaxy s mesmerize so I pulled the phone.apk and phone.obex files from the mesmerize and then used root explorer and put them I'm system/app on the Tab.
It started force closing and I was finally able to delete the two files out of the system/app folder.
I then rebooted the Tab and now I can't connect to the network and it gives a force close when I first start the tab. Force close is com.hiddenmenu or something like that. (Goes by to fast)
Please please help.

I think it can be fixed using a system dump . I need the /system/app folder.
Needs to be a us cellular tab I assume.

[Q] Rooted Samsung Fascinate v. Google talk service

So yes, Titanium Backup and the deletion of google talk are at it again. This time I actually knew I shouldn't delete then brain farted and did it anyway. So here lies my marketless and FC gapps everytime I pull the market app up.
For the record I searched as best as possible for a solution and the closest I got was a link for gtalk and the Evo 4G, and needless to say it still doesn't work, the market and the force close gapps.service still happens after re install
A solution without a flash and re-root is preferred, please educate the new guy! Thanks for the record I know I'm a jack wagon lol.
Search these forums (or Google) for Fascinate System Dump. It will have whatever files you deleted.
So dump files obtained. Is this is simple drag and drop to the OS or do I need a program on the computer to be able to interface with the filesystem on the Fascinate?
Bare with me guys, while I bring myself up to speed on tearing through the Andriod OS, hacking windows is one thing - tearing apart my phone for the first time - thats a whole nother ball game for me.

So I did that, finally got the files onto my phone and reinstalled all the google.apks including ones that were already existing on the phone.
To no avail I still get the gapps Force close and I'm still unable to download from market after restoring Google Talk Service.
Any help or a simple suggestion would be appreciated - been trying this all day with no success.
I'm not sure if you "installed" the apps or if you placed them back in their proper folder(s), but my guess is that any app you had pre-installed which you deleted was previously in the /system/app folder. The dump has all the files in this folder. You don't need to re-install these files, you need to just copy them back to the /system/app folder.
When you download and install an app, it will install to /data/app. If you "installed" the files rather than copying them back to /system/app, that may be the problem.
On a side-note, this is why I like to move files from one folder to another rather than use Titanium Backup to delete apps/files.
Don't forget to reboot your phone after you copy the files back to /system/app.
Lastly, I'm not responsible for what you break.

Roger that side note - that will be my new policy when managing files.
As far as the clarification - I have been indeed installing the apps instead of moving them to the appropriate location - I guess the difference in installation location never occurred to me. Thank you in advance for the heads up and I'll report my success or failure, hopefully success after i get out of work this evening.
Don't worry if I brick I won't hold you accountable - after all I'm the one who deleted Google apps from the Andriod phone. LOL, In hindsight it was a terrible Idea.

Now You Have Working S-Voice
Edit : 05/21/12
Vlingo block unauthorized device access, But try to do like this...
****FULL GUIDE ON HOW TO GET S-VOICE TO WORK ON YOUR DEVICE****
you will need to root your ics device (stock ics or maybe an ics rom) once its rooted you need root explorer , download the apk file to a memory card , navigate to the app , change permissons there and then to rw-r-r then once thats done move it to system/app ( its apparent s-voice works better with your device if your device recognises it as a system app rather than just a normal app) restsart your device , power it back on and boot into root explorer and go to /system/build.prop hold it down and select "open in text editor" scroll down to "ro.product.model=" and change it to this exactly as i write it "GT-I9300" (should appear twice enter the same data twice) (this is to stop the "network error" that samsung have loaded to all their servers to stop any phone other than the S3 to be declined by their voice servers) click "save and exit" reboot & thats you (if you have problems on the GT-I9100 copying the file to the "system/app" folder (as only like 15-20MB is avalable in that folder) you will have to delete some apps , i deleted vilingo and youtube and pasted "s-voice" , i then opened it and went through the setup , clicked done and restarted. once restarted open app and go through tutorial. once this is done s-voice should work. **YOU WILL NEED TO BE ROOTED & ON STOCK ICS (preferably but if your on a ics rom it should still work but dont expect too much)** Gingerbread will not work (Android 2.3- and so on). This is known to work on the - Htc one Htc One x - Htc Desire with an ics rom - Galaxy Nexus - Samsung Galaxy S2 - Htc Sensation - if you follow my steps correctly you should get it to work fine on your device (but ofcourse you may get some problems as you are changing the buildprop on your device to which your phone isnt , this may cause problems if your on a complete different manufacturer , for an example changing the build prop on a Samsung Galaxy GT-I9100 it wont be as bad as its still a samsung device and only an upgraded model of the GT-19100 (the 19300 am talking about) but if your on a htc and you change the build prop it can cause major problems on your device and if you notice this change back the build prop to whatever text was there before you changed it.S-voice is pretty buggy so dont expect much but if your an android user and would like to give it a shot knock yourself out .- this is the full guide on how to install it without any flaws or "s-voice is not responding" messages.

[Request] S Memo and Provider APK

I've already tried with several different versions from dumps but S Memo just keeps FCing after I deleted it with Titanium and can't restore it. I put it in /system/apps and reboot and then on load it has SMemo but it closes and the apks are deleted from the apps folder automatically.
Anyway, I need the SMemo.apk, SMemo.odex, SMemoProvider.apk, and SMemoProvider.odex from /system/apps if someone would be so kind to get that. Needs to be from the ATT version.

[Q] [REQ] Modify Settings Menu i9505

Hello guys,
I recently found out that the "Kies via Wi-Fi" entry under "Settings>Connections Tab" is causing a FC to "Settings". I guess at a given time I've done something and removed/uninstalled the Kies Bloatware either by using Root Explorer or Titanium Backup, I'm not sure and I can't remember. I've tried to reinstall the "Kies Wi-Fi" app from the Google PlayStore and it did actually installed and found it working, however the nasty shortcut in Settings still causes FC-es. Is there any way to get rid of this entry at all? I don't intend using Kies at all and I'd really like to see that option gone.
I saw a thread in the Dev and Hacking section, however I'm not experienced enough to do it myself, so I ask here for help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184207
And these are the files I extracted from my device.. apparently there's no "Settings.apk" in my "/system/app" folder. But there is SecSettings.apk.....
SecSettings.apk - https://www.dropbox.com/s/pbeua595rsym22p/SecSettings.apk
framework-res.apk - https://www.dropbox.com/s/xzog2xfxnc4gsso/framework-res.apk
framework.jar - https://www.dropbox.com/s/t0xawazgheiemxg/framework.jar
framework2.jar - https://www.dropbox.com/s/mb470l2z2epu9vu/framework2.jar
I noticed that in SecSettings.pak > res > xml there is a file called connection_headers.xml which might be the key, but trying to open it with Notepad++ everything was full with meaningless weird symbols, except the 4th row which actually mention "kies via wi-fi".
I'll be very thankful if there's any way to remove this.. "thing" from my phone. I'm not familiar with ADB, but I surely can flash a .zip with CWM. :cyclops:
faily.. wrong thread.. sorry

Stock Gallery not installing

Hi. I accidentally deleted my stock gallery app so I re-downloaded it (from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449815) to try to install it again. Apparently I can't just re-install it because it's a system app so it keeps telling me that it's not installed. I tried a file manager to move the apk file into the system/app folder and changed the permission to rw--r--r--. I restart after that and now I can find the gallery app installed on my phone, but it crashes right away every time I try to open it ("Gallery has stopped working"). It also doesn't work whenever I go into camera and tap on the photo browser box because it also says gallery stopped working.
I'm on Kitkat right now with root access and I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. Please help!

First, are you on NC2 leak or NC4 OTA? I'm not sure if it matters with a gallery apk but you never know.
If you're on NC2 leak go to Beans thread here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52088473&postcount=1
If you're on NC4 go here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53508270&postcount=1
1) Next, I'd download the rom for whatever you're on NC2 or NC4.
2) Extract rom zip with 7zip or Winrar or whatever your zip extraction program is.
3) Look for the secgallery.apk and pull the apk from the folder and transfer to your phone on your sd card.
4) Once on your sd card use your file explorer with root access. I prefer Root Explorer, if you don't have it it's worth buying to me.
5) Push the secgallery apk to system/priv-app and set permissions to rw-r--r--, then reboot and see if that helps.
6) If you still have problems try going to settings>application manager>all>then look for gallery and clear cache and see if that works
I don't know if you should use the apk you got from that link you posted as I don't know if it's been altered or not. It might be as easy as you putting that secgallery apk you have already in system/priv-app instead of system/app but let's be on the safe side. That's why I said download Beans stock rooted roms.
Hopefully this works for you.
EDIT: After going through both roms I have on my pc it appears the gallery is the same so I pulled it and uploaded here for you : http://d-h.st/9TK Let me know once you have it so I can take it down.

Oh my goodness, you're a life safer! It finally worked after spending many hours trying to figure out what was wrong. I guess it's because I use the wrong apk and also because I put it in the wrong folder in the system root. After I downloaded the apk you provided, I moved the file to system/priv-app and changed the permission. After rebooting, gallery is now working perfectly fine again instead of crashing.
Thank you so much for your help! I really couldn't have figured this out on my own without your information!
