Vlingo block unauthorized device access, But try to do like this...
****FULL GUIDE ON HOW TO GET S-VOICE TO WORK ON YOUR DEVICE****
you will need to root your ics device (stock ics or maybe an ics rom) once its rooted you need root explorer , download the apk file to a memory card , navigate to the app , change permissons there and then to rw-r-r then once thats done move it to system/app ( its apparent s-voice works better with your device if your device recognises it as a system app rather than just a normal app) restsart your device , power it back on and boot into root explorer and go to /system/build.prop hold it down and select "open in text editor" scroll down to "ro.product.model=" and change it to this exactly as i write it "GT-I9300" (should appear twice enter the same data twice) (this is to stop the "network error" that samsung have loaded to all their servers to stop any phone other than the S3 to be declined by their voice servers) click "save and exit" reboot & thats you (if you have problems on the GT-I9100 copying the file to the "system/app" folder (as only like 15-20MB is avalable in that folder) you will have to delete some apps , i deleted vilingo and youtube and pasted "s-voice" , i then opened it and went through the setup , clicked done and restarted. once restarted open app and go through tutorial. once this is done s-voice should work. **YOU WILL NEED TO BE ROOTED & ON STOCK ICS (preferably but if your on a ics rom it should still work but dont expect too much)** Gingerbread will not work (Android 2.3- and so on). This is known to work on the - Htc one Htc One x - Htc Desire with an ics rom - Galaxy Nexus - Samsung Galaxy S2 - Htc Sensation - if you follow my steps correctly you should get it to work fine on your device (but ofcourse you may get some problems as you are changing the buildprop on your device to which your phone isnt , this may cause problems if your on a complete different manufacturer , for an example changing the build prop on a Samsung Galaxy GT-I9100 it wont be as bad as its still a samsung device and only an upgraded model of the GT-19100 (the 19300 am talking about) but if your on a htc and you change the build prop it can cause major problems on your device and if you notice this change back the build prop to whatever text was there before you changed it.S-voice is pretty buggy so dont expect much but if your an android user and would like to give it a shot knock yourself out .- this is the full guide on how to install it without any flaws or "s-voice is not responding" messages.

1 - use Root Explorer to open /system/build.prop file (open in text editor)
2- add " ro.camera.sound.forced=0 " in the bottom of the file (ps: dont include " ")
3- save and exit ,
4- reboot you phone
after booted,
if you want to disable the camera sounds (shot sound and focus sound), just changed the system sound to silent or vibrate.
you will get a no-sounds camera.
I m using ICS and it is working
odlicno!
Awesome. Tnkz!
im running ICS 4.0.4 with Hydrogen mod
AOIK 3.0.28 kernel and have an option under sound to turn camera sound off
Take a look at that option i know resurrection mod has same option
I dont have an ICS device but on my gb device I just renamed (mv) the shutter sound file and there was no more sound when I take pictures... It should be the same for ics. use an adb shell or terminal emulator on the device to "find / -name *.ogg" and you'll figure it out. You will need root to mv the file as well as to use the find command (I am not sure if you need to install bbusybox for find).
Awesome. Thanks!

! EDIT found out why and how. Worked as a charm. Thanks
With ES File Explorer I can browse /system/ and open build.prop in txteditor, but I can't save it (denied) ... any idea why?
ES File Explorer isn't in SuperUses app list ... do I need to add it (and if how)?

Thanks....
If on any stock ICS rom, if you just set your phone to silent or vibrate it will eliminate the these sounds. No need to root or edit the build.prop

Sorry to know that. I didn't have that problem on LP8, but I'm on LP7 nowadays .

Any solution to totally disable the camera sound ?
Search on the forum, found several tips but it's not working on ICS 4.03 (XWLP7).
Thanks.
Just tried this trick, but I'm now stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy S2 - GT-I9100" boot screen. Ben there for serveral minutes, trying to remove batterye right now.
Nothing else changed between my previous reboot earlier today than editing this build.prop...

So I'm not the only one... Any way to access/edit the build.prop when booting in CWM recovery or download mode?
edit: reflashed with LP8, and this time I did the build.prop edit with a dedicated tool from the market (and not ES Explorer, which uses charsets not correctly interpreted by Unix). Works like a charm

I can confirm that on both xqlp7 and xwlp8 this does not work.
Part of the solution is dumping all sound files you find annoying (shutter, power connect, etc) but the super irritating LOUD focus beep is hardwired in the camera software, so it seems. I wish there was a simple hack for that!
it's working as charmed.. will settings after rom update stay or should I renew settings after every flash procedure?

My device and SDCARD was encypted, got the bootloop and had to use ODIN to get back -lost everything. I too used ES Explorer to edit-
Guess I should read instructions better
anyway- Beware, like CoinCoin says -don't use ES Explorer to edit.
When you're rooted, you can delete or rename the following files:
/system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg
/system/media/audio/ui/camera_focus.ogg
/system/media/audio/ui/VideoRecord.ogg
yeah but I like the camera the way it is (basicly, I like stock things )... I just don't want it to make a noise when the phone is set to vibrate/silent. When it's on general, I'm not bothered by sounds.
The ogg files removal is an edit for all modes, whereas this tweak is just to get it working as it should.
I did not create this as I found it for the Epic 4G. It was previously posted by jamesey in that forum. Here is a link to that thread:

I have been searching for a security bypass that would work for ICS since I got my A500. I wanted to be able to either use facelock or no lockscreen at all on my tablet. I also do not like my sys admin having complete remote wipe authority on my device much less having to have my entire device encrypted. These files bypassed all that.
I have tested this for the Tegraowner 4.04 ICS rom v160 and works thus far.
To install, unzip the attached file, and, using whatever .zip editor you have, open the ROM you are intending to install, go to the \system\app\ folder, and replace the Email.apk and Exchange.apk files therein with those from the attached file.
then . . . Flash that ROM in the normal sequence. (PS I used total commander on the tablet to make the edit to the ROM file, 7zip would not make changes to that particular ROM's zip file.)
Alternatively, you can do this without reflashing the ROM but it does not always seem to work perfectly. To do this, delete your exchange email account. Clear app cache for exchange. Make sure no device admins are seen in the system settings/security tab, then use root explorer (must fix file permissions using root explorer) or adb to add the files to \system\app\ folder. Then reboot and add the account.
Note, it will still ask you about the security imposed by exchange but not actually implement those security requirements. eg on my tablet, it indicated that my exchange had security requirements but did not say anything further and did not add the exchange server as a device admin in the system settings/security tab.
Lovin it. (goodbye touchdown email)

top that work on my ICS 4.0.4 HTC Desire :good:
Thank you!
This worked on Desire with sandvold ICS 0.15.0.1
Did not work on my Galaxy S3. I keep getting FCs for email and overall stability is degraded. Looking at the other threads for this, it may be because the stock rom is odexed? I may just pay $5 for an OWA viewer until someone can fix this for the S3.
Works perfect and is so much better than the stock Email app. I would really appreciate if you add a couple of features to this already awesome apk.
1. There is no option to set 'Out of Office Settings' from my phone while using this app.
2. Also, each time a mailer with pictures comes, I need to save settings for individual sender for automatic-picture-download-permissions.
If these two things can be added, it would be the best Email patch available. Thanks
Anyone tested it with cm10? Thank you!

Ok, i rebooted, and now i have two email apps in the drawer, one yellow and white icon and the other red and white. If i select the yellow and white icon, it says email has stopped. IF I use the red and white, i can setup email fine but security is still there. My guess is the i did something wrong while installed the new mail.apk

Update for JB
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520431
Hello guys,
I recently found out that the "Kies via Wi-Fi" entry under "Settings>Connections Tab" is causing a FC to "Settings". I guess at a given time I've done something and removed/uninstalled the Kies Bloatware either by using Root Explorer or Titanium Backup, I'm not sure and I can't remember. I've tried to reinstall the "Kies Wi-Fi" app from the Google PlayStore and it did actually installed and found it working, however the nasty shortcut in Settings still causes FC-es. Is there any way to get rid of this entry at all? I don't intend using Kies at all and I'd really like to see that option gone.
I saw a thread in the Dev and Hacking section, however I'm not experienced enough to do it myself, so I ask here for help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184207
And these are the files I extracted from my device.. apparently there's no "Settings.apk" in my "/system/app" folder. But there is SecSettings.apk.....
SecSettings.apk - https://www.dropbox.com/s/pbeua595rsym22p/SecSettings.apk
framework-res.apk - https://www.dropbox.com/s/xzog2xfxnc4gsso/framework-res.apk
framework.jar - https://www.dropbox.com/s/t0xawazgheiemxg/framework.jar
framework2.jar - https://www.dropbox.com/s/mb470l2z2epu9vu/framework2.jar
I noticed that in SecSettings.pak > res > xml there is a file called connection_headers.xml which might be the key, but trying to open it with Notepad++ everything was full with meaningless weird symbols, except the 4th row which actually mention "kies via wi-fi".
I'll be very thankful if there's any way to remove this.. "thing" from my phone. I'm not familiar with ADB, but I surely can flash a .zip with CWM. :cyclops:
faily.. wrong thread.. sorry
This is for those who wanted to have this function in their beast and yet no Note 5 rom is availble for their device , well smile..here you go
:good:Try at your own risk. I wont go in detail like step by step or what root explorer to use. You will have to figure it out. Im not trying to be mean but you will have to learn it =P
Your device must be rooted.
Download any rom that is made for Note 5 , custom or stock (make sure you ask for permission from the creator) , extract the folder "system/app/applicationspermissions"
and copy the folder (doesnt matter if is odex or deodexed) then paste it to your system/app/ and set the permission to the copied folder and the apk itself.
Then add the code below into your others.xml in you csc folder.
Code:
<!-- Smart Manager -->
<CscFeature_SmartManager_ConfigDashboard>dual_dashboard</CscFeature_SmartManager_ConfigDashboard>
<CscFeature_SmartManager_DisableAntiMalware>true </CscFeature_SmartManager_DisableAntiMalware>
<CscFeature_SmartManager_ConfigSubFeatures>roguepopup|autoclean|autorestart</CscFeature_SmartManager_ConfigSubFeatures>
Save , reboot and voila.
Bug
Nofitications - Block app notifications will FC.
Application Permissions - Sort by permission , will take some times to load the apps.
And it works , it does block what it offered.
Feel free to use
Thank you but nowhere i could got this foleder
system/app/applicationspermissions
can you please upload it.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has made a swipe sensitive wallpaper like the one on Xperia z5 for redmi 2? I've been searching the whole Internet and all I can find is the Xperia z2 wallpaper. I'm surprised no one has even made anything close to the Xperia live wallpapers, cos I really like the experience flow or cosmic flow wallpapers. The only ones I can find are wallpapers that sparkle on touch but they don't move when swiped(by "move when swiped" I don't mean scrolling wallpapers). I hope someone will bring the z5 wallpaper to other phones soon
Si
@Newbdroidd So, first things first - Wallpapers dont need to be custom made for all devices. If you can fool the original apk into believing it's installed exactly 'where it should be', then it should be no problem getting it to work normally.
Now, the drill
Q1. Are you rooted, buddy?
If yes, Q2. Are you on Stock MIUI ROM, CM or which one?
If AOSP-based (CM/Bliss/AICP etc.), proceed further and follow these steps --
(You can try them on MIUI as well, I'm not sure if they'll work or corrupt your MIUI installation (So make sure to make a Recovery backup if doing this on stock ROM.) )
now the steps --
00. Download the file: http://d-h.st/zUJR
0. Inside you'll find the apk.
1. Try installing normally, then reboot. If it works, great,, and if doesn't proceed as below -
2. Install 'Root Explorer' from play store. Open it, grant root permission when asked, and then go to the folder '/system/priv-app/' .... create a folder named 'Experience Flow 2 Live Wallpaper' ... long press the folder, and set permissions as 'rwxr-xr-x' (0755).
3. Inside, copy paste that apk file from the link, rename it to 'Experience Flow 2 Live Wallpaper.apk' (as inside quotes, no changes) ... set permission to 'rw-r--r--' (0644) and reboot.
4. Try setting it as Live Wallpaper now. It should work.
5. DO make sure to revert here if it worked or not!
All the best!

Hi thanks for replying... I'm rooted and i'm using Temasek CM13 on my redmi 2. First i tried installing the apk normally but it says problem parsing the package. Then I followed all the steps you listed except that i used root browser instead of root explorer cos root explorer isn't free. Rebooted but it doesn't show up on the list of live wallpapers
OH waiit i forgot to rename the apk.. Trying again now hopefully it works
Renamed it but it still doesn't work D:

Well... I've used both Kumajaya CM13 and am currently on Blisspop ROM CM13. I've used this method successfully on both these ROMs. I'm currently having it set as my wallpaper as well.
P.S: But I suppose the source of the file I've used in my case is different from this.
Okay, just wait till morning, I might be able to upload that file here if the internet speed favors me.
Then you just have to repeat the procedure with the new apk.
Please make sure to restore from the backup you created, or fully remove and uninstall the apk used earlier for this method to work.

Here's a vid of my phones folders just in case i did something wrong. How do u like the blisspop rom? I like res remix the best but it had a few bugs so i switch to my current one
