ROMs i9000B - Galaxy S I9000 General

Taking idea from zurdo1981.
Problem on this i9000B is, there are no custom ROMs.
Others from i9000 internacional are not compatible because of different hardware.
So...we're wondering, would someone donate (i guess via Paypal) in order to get at least some ROMs ported to our i9000b?
Thanxs.
Greetings from Argentina.

I agree to this request. It would be awesome if we could start the i9000B scene.
Okorn es custom la puta madre . Te llegó ya?
Cheers!

You're right, same mistake as always.

good luck with this
i was going to buy this phone (i was tired of my nexus screen going crazy so often), but i was "saved" by an administrative mistake from my carrier that prevented me from buying it.
i would have died if i had bought another phone traped in the manufacturers ROMs (i had a milestone before, it now has custom roms, when i had it, it didn't)
ps: did samsung EVER release the source code for this phone, like it did with all the other memers of the galaxy S line ? (even the continuum)

Yes!
i will donate if someome do a good rom for sgs i900b
1+

Great
We just have to find someone

+1 apoyo les dejo mi msn [email protected]

Any news on this?

Totally agree, I could donate, we need custom roms for i9000b!!

[Q] I need some basic help over here! :( - Admin could you move this?

I tagged this thread as "Q", cos ive been sniffing through XDA-forums and I have got a lot of questions. I hope someone can help me.
First of all, Im new to Android, in the Developing side, and also the Flashing side. I would like to learn more about it, but flashing now is my priority.
So related to flash:
I have got a Samsung Galaxy 3, and I cant understand the ROM naming pattern. For example:

What do this mean, most important, how do I may know if its compatible, whith my phone, im from Spain, so I guess I need a Spanished-language ROM.
What about Custom ROMS?
I saw this one: [ROM] Kyrillos' ROM v4.1 Ultimate Edition, a very cool ROM, but I dont even know if the OS will be on Spanish.
I read something about Country codes or something like that, but I couldn't find the "sintax".
Another important question about flashing, how can I avoid a brick? Maybe some kind of Bootloader with nand copy? Maybe I'm ****ed if I fail? :/
Another one:
Do I also need a extra firmware?, maybe a combination of both?, I'm used to flash PSPs and so, I remember that I should had the official firmware...
Final notes:
As u guys can se nowadays I'm a total noob when flashing and so, thats why I would appreciate a lot any sort of help.
Maybe my question were answered before, but I couldn't find em, even with the search bar, if so, please show me some link about it
I hope I'd opened this thread at the correct sub-forum...
I love the forum desing, its seems a serious forum, well organized and clean, I hope could stay in here for a long time
Thx a lot for reading.
P.D: Sorry for my poor English and so, I'll accept any corrections ^^'
-> Okay I placed it wrong.... -_-" the idea was to place it here: Android Software and Hacking General, or maybe here: Galaxy 3 General admin!!! help T_T
I don't wanna repost, please Admin move it T_T
----------------------------------------------------------
Edit:
I've flashed succesfully my Galaxy 3, into Froyo, thx to slumpolo, and some other memebers of this forum ^^
From now on I'll be on forum, for developent matters, thx 4 all ^^

An advice please...

Hi everone. I buy yesterday a samsung galaxy tab, with froyo 2.2
I have a sony xperia x10 too, and i flash it to 2.3 gingerbread.
From yours experiences, i must update to a new rom? or a custom rom?
Any adivice about a stable rom??
i download z4root, but hangs up and dont root my tablet. Other way to do this.
I think, that if i cant root it, i cant update de rom...
Thanks in advanced

Hmmm, if you don't reckon the differences between FroYo and GingerBread, it's probably not usefull to change ROM...
AFAIK there are several threads about rooting your Tab
Most ROM's are stable and fast, I personally prefer those made by AF974. Mind you, his latest ROM/kernel isn't supported anymore while he joined the Hyperdroid. You might get lucky there...

sorry but my english....i know the difference between froyo and gingerbread.
And my question was not complete. I´m from argentina and my tab is gsm (with chip) P1000L (or N) i dont remember, lol.
i read a post about cant change rom is the tab are from latinamerica or something.
Can i use the roms from afaik in my tab?
And More questions, worth it the upgrade, really change the tab perfomance
(when i start to use, the roms from Erickwill in my Xperia, the phone speeds up about 500% lol)
I will check other ways to root it, thanks about it.

Hola!
It is definately worth flashing a ROM. I think you are right that there are certain limitations with the P1000L/N - there is lots of information on here so get searching...
Have a look at the Hyperdroid thread, it might work for you, but check with your Tab version first.

[Q] Best method to root and upgrade from 2.2.2 for a friend?

Hello guys,
sorry for probably not having searched long enough, but there is just a mass of threads to dig through...
A friend of mine has the Motorola Atrix and I want to help him upgrade it to the latest rom version, plus root the device... so I was wondering what method to use and which rom etc?
Myself I own a Samsung Galaxy i9000, so I know how many different roms exist for each device lol.. but no clue about the atrix (yet).
My friend is visually impaired and in order to change the display dpi we need to have the phone rooted.
Hope you can point me in the right direction so I don't have to spend too much time researching about this atrix.
Try either of the links,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261
or

For custom rom, try GingerMod 2.3.6 #7, best ROM i ever used, runs so smooth and better battery life...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1400023
Thanks man!
That gingermod rom looks nice, unfortunatly it doesn't seem to support german. (forgot to say that my friend doesnt understand english so well and thought roms would usually always support german lol)
So are there any good with german language anyone can recommend? Preferably with Motoblur, or does motoblur get f*cked up by dpi changes?

What is the most stable, reliable and up to date 2.3.x custom ROM for Xperia X10?

Well, I'm really a newbie, so, do not kill me for this question.
The fact is there are some Custom ROMs out there and I want to change my actual 2.3.3 stock ROM by a new one, stable, reliable and without missing or broken functionalities.
Yes, I'm very exigent with my X10. The ROM I'm looking for exists?
The most common answer someone may give s " try n see... It's personal. Preference "
Lol bro as u r new here u maybe expectingan answer. ..
Try feralab or
Donut
They both are the best to start with
sEnT fRoM ~AGNI 5~ JAi hO iNdiA
I'd say Wolfbreak his ROM since feravolts rom sometimes has random crashes (wlod)... I don't know why.... Didn't have this on v15...
Even I have frequent probs with fera16. Bt most f the people find it smooth for them...so it depends on the users likes n dislikes
For me donut gave better results...

Newbie to ROM installations

Hi guys, I'm a newbie when it comes to Android (just got my Aussie Note 3 yesterday).
Questions on Android ROMs; (I haven't install/updated ROMs from the time my wife had a HTC One touch) After installing a ROM and when a new updated ROM version does come out, do I install the updated ROM or does it come up like "New updates" feature? What happens to my customizations? Is there a backup I can retrieve everything from?
Does it work like this;
Install Sweet ROM > Customize Phone > Backup ?
Later on, Download updated Sweet ROM version > Reinstall > Restore Backup ?
Thanks and hope to hear from someone soon.
Cheers
Good luck getting a response to this....

I'm in the same boat as you, also have the Aussie 9005 (with the locked down bottom row of apps rubbish) but don't know about modding/"romming". Problem here is that this forum is filled with nuclear physicists and we're asking basic algebra questions There are I guess owners who wouldn't know what a ROM was if it bit them, who wouldn't visit these types of forums anyway, and users who customize/crack/mod phones to within an inch of their little electric lives, but not really anywhere for us folks in between... Oh well, let's hope on of the nuclear physicists not only takes pity on us, but can also explain in more detail than "crack prom de la vega, set ?"># to null in lms45s. file and rejigger"
