LoL thats some funny **** there MuckenMire
Dad's can be replaced... Nexus Ones unfortunately cannot

What conditions is it in? Go on to Ebay and Craigs List and get some ideas.
When I was searching I see anywhere from $300 to $400 for "Good" and up to about $450 to $500 for "mint".
Keep in mind what one person think "mint" might not be another person's "mint"

You got that right

Just use the Nexus on EDGE- there is nothing on AT&T that compares. Unless you can put up with the disgrace to mobile phones that the iPhone 4 is.

Nah, my wife has their galaxy phone, captivate I think? It isnt horrid out of the box and with a little work it performs pretty well. I'll leave the materials out of it, they dont compare but since I put my phones in a case right off the bat I could care less as I never see them. Primary function that I would miss would be the trackball, forgot how much fun it was to try and edit text by attempting (over and over) to hit the sweet spot. Easier to just delete back to the mistake and start over from there. Still life could be a lot worse than to be stuck with that phone. Also over there is the x10 which has more downsides than the sammy piece but might be worth a look for the right person. These and the iphone are about the only handsets worth talking about for the moment.

I've never once used the N1 trackball to edit text. With practice you'll get REALLY good at hitting that sweet spot the first try. I only use the trackball for waking the device and color notifications. I had too many Blackberry trackballs get ruined by too much use to ever use my N1 trackball that way.
I admit I would miss the trackball, but in my case for the color notifications. I love coming back to my desk and knowing what is waiting just by looking at the trackball.

lol, yeah, maybe a young whipper snapper or crackberry user might find it easy but being old and pathetic I find it near impossible. I use the volume to wake as it appears to be the hard button with the least breakage reports. Considering that I seldom need to edit text and I use the trackball for nothing else I'm guessing mine might be around longer than yours.

I am gonna get flame for this but....
Iphone 4 is not half as bad you think. I have a n1 for my daily use. I dont think i will trade it in for a new device. However i was sick and tired of running my battery down by using it as my mp3 player so i picked up a ip4 to use as my music player. I was very surprised how smooth it runs. However the UI is plain and boring though. Maybe that was what apple was going for plain and boring. Android is very customizable. Make your own style.
Anways forgive me of this mumble jumble talk of ip4.
There is always a nexus one for att which i use. You can leave from n1 to att n1.

Sure, you're an android fanboy, we get it, but the iphone isn't 'that' bad.

Why do you have to switch if your dad switches that's my question.
As for the N1's ... I'd never sell them... too valuble atm. Go for high price

Yeah, you don't have to sell your Nexus Ones.
You use them on ATT with Edge, and in the mean time you keep searching craigslist and posting ads in other places wanting to trade your TMobile Nexus One for someone who has a ATT Nexus one.
Easy as pie. I've done that, my friend has done that. Sure N1's, especially ATT ones are hard to find, but just keep looking. It's a phone that has no equal, it's worth it.

You can also try to trade with someone with the AT&T version N1. Try searching for it on craigslist.

I just traded a captivate for a Att nexus one. They are rare and it took me a month or more to find one

Just find someone to trade Tmo version for AT&T version. I may be switching carriers with two of my lines. Not sure if Tmo is the carrier I'm choosing yet though. If a decision is made soon I will let you know.

If you can't find an AT&T-compatible N1, try finding an unlocked Telus HTC Desire. It's largely the same hardware, and if you don't want Sense you can flash Cyanogen or OpenDesire.

Maybe I'm just a glass half full kinda guy but at least with att your phone will work in buildings and between cities and they do have decent androids unlike when they just had the backflip or whatever it was called. The sgs is definitely stellar and I thought there was an att compatible nexus (not just the tmo one on E)

You've got that right, deleting and starting over is really frustrating but less so than tapping my screen for five minutes. I wonder what the testers did that worked so well that the SGS got past design and all the way to stores like that

If anyone is looking for ATT 3G Nexus, I got one for sale right here @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=836653

Need opinions from MyTouch 3G switchers!

So, how is the Nexus One compared to the MyTouch 3G?
I absolutely loved Android over any phone, but the slow MT3G killed the fun and I decided to get a 3GS.
How fast is it compared to it? Is the browser faster?

I nearly forgot about my myTouch 3G. The N1 blows it out of the water, I'm really glad I switched. I was also thinking of getting the 3GS until the N1 came out but now I haven't looked back on my decision. I suggest you get it too.
I went from a G1, to a MyTouch, to a Nexus. . . The move from a G1 to a Mytouch, not so big. From a MyTouch to the Nexus. . . well, ridiculous comes to mind. No slowness, no lag.
the my touch is garbage if u compare it to the n1. My brother in law is selling his after he saw my n1
EDIT: I know I shouldn't have asked.

Astrid is on the N1 ._.
I also came from the G1 and myTouch and now the Nexus! I still need a better reason to root besides tether and more ram as the stock is pretty fast for me. But then I needed to use my tether and switched my sim to my MT and I just couldn't believe i used to use this phone on a daily basis for 6 months so now my MT and G1 are just for display now and testing other roms.
I work for T-Mobile and when people come in the store and are talking about phones and see what I have and naturally the first thing that they ask is whether the Nexus is a big step up from the MyTouch. I say not really and proceed to sell them a phone. If they only knew what I was actually thinking in my head... LOL!
This phone is nothing short of amazing.
Then why are you doing this?

Because for the average customer they're not going to notice that big of a difference. The average person that comes in the store isn't going to take advantage of what this phone is capable of. Most people that come into the store want a phone that works and they can show off to their friends. With that said I have convinced 2 people to get one because I knew they would use it to it's full potential. It's called our right fit guide. ;-)

For every sucker there's a customer.
Well, y'know, there IS a difference.
What he means basically is, because they dont sell the Nexus in Tmobile stores and he doesnt want to lose his job by sending every customer that comes in out the door, he finds them the best solution he has available for their needs.
Oh, and to OP, the MyTouch isnt comparable to Nexus, a mere childs toy after using your Nexus a few days.
same here, only had the mytouch 3g for 2 months, didnt like it as much, love Android though. came from a iphone 3g 16gb, but now that i have the N1, i love it. only thing the the iphone has is apps, everything else about the N1 is much better.
The other issue is people don't want to pay for it. $379 is worth it to someone like me but a lot of people think that they can they for $179 and we obviously know that's not the case. I don't make money for selling phones so it doesn't matter to me. I'm as honest as I can be...

Does anyone dislike their Epic more and more everyday?

After a few months, the novelty of the phone has worn off and I find myself disliking and regreting my choice to buy this phone more and more every day. From the lack of froyo, software stability issues, gps, problems, useless keyboard, etc, it just seems more and more unsuited for daily use. I'm also becoming disappointed in Sprint's network. At first I thought it was leaps and bounds better than T-Mobile but now I'm not so sure. "4G" is an absolute joke unless you're outside, standing still, and 100 ft from a tower. This is not a flaming bash thread, just how I feel. I'm wondering if anyone else shares my views.
P.S. I live in NYC

Sorry for the bad experiences man. I'm actually the opposite. I like it more and more everyday. I'm running epic experience froyo. Gps locks in seconds.(for me anyway) runs very smooth. Can't comment on 4g cause its not availabe in my area. Everyones has their opinion I guess. Have you considered the evo? I have to say thogh the evo has a better radio. A couple of friends have it and Ill be sitting right next to them and they get 2-3 more bars than me in certain areas. That's just my observation tho.

Personally, I still dig the phone even more than I did when I got it. My 4g isn't great either, but there when I need it- anywhere from 2-5mbits. Despite the little the devs have had to work with, my phone (on 2.2) is way faster than when I got it. Stability wise- I've had a few self induced setbacks, but now I back up more often. Once the source is out, the sky's the limit.
sent from my RAZR
I feel the exact opposite. I'm loving my epic more and more every day. I've been running the froyo betas since day one and it runs just as good if not better than my buddies evo running the official froyo. I do believe I can do without the hardware keyboard because I find myself using the software kb a lot more than I thought I would. But my phone has been great so far. And for some reason I've never had a problem with gps. Even on froyo. I'm in ny also but I live out east in suffolk county so we don't have 4g yet. Doesn't bother me though when I'm home I use my wifi and at work we have wifi as well so I'm good with that. Also.. since having the epic, I get kind of disgusted when I look at a non SAMOLED screen. They look so washed out. This includes the iphone 4s screen although it is a bit sharper

The incredible is cute I guess. But I needed a mans phone. I'm done with any screen smaller than 4 in. The incredible is a decent phone but it is inferior to the epic in just about every way. But have fun with that though. And on top of that u pay so much more a month. So its a lose lose in my eyes. Sero ftw
Also i don't see the problem ppl are having with sammy phones. This is my first sammy phone after about 6 htc phones and I don't regret the switch at all. It feels a little plasticy at first but the quality is definitely not bad at all

I don't have many phone to go by cause this is my first android phone but my friends from work who have iphone4, blackberry and a few other smartphones are all praising my Epic.
As far as 4g goes, I use it all the time and always get a good signal indoors or outdoors. BTW I'm in the Boston market. I did notice while in queens new york I didn't get a 4g signal indoors.

Agree 100%. I would like to see 2.2.1 officially released though.
I am still in love with the phone. The only thing I wish is that we had 2.2 officially.
Actually, yeah, I'm right there with ya. I waited and waited and held off on buying an Evo, in spite of the fact that my wife and my dad were loving theirs, anxiously awaiting Epic launch day. I'm starting to regret it now, like for real. But I don't think the Evo is the perfect phone for me either, but it seems closer. I really like some of the other phones out there, but now I'm stuck on a Sprint family plan, and there isn't **** coming out any time soon (yeah, I know about the Knight, or Evo Shift or whatever, but I don't want a keyboard, dammit). Seems like T-Mo and Verizon are getting sweet new high end phones every week, and Sprint is just happy to get by on the success of the Evo. I guess I might be looking for a trade for an Evo soon, or selling mine on Ebay to buy an Evo. I really want to love this phone, but Samsung just isn't letting me. It'd be nice if every phone was available on every carrier. Stupid back door carrier/manufacturer deals.
Can we just stop making posts about how we hate our epics this is how the community gets into fights, that and when noobs ask questions.
THE FROYO EPIC EXPERIENCE
I'm in nyc and i dont have any of the issues you seem to have, i get 4g at work 5/1 d/u
i get 4g at home 7/1.2 d/u, my 3g service is fairly awesome(except on the corner of 22nd and park where i get ONLY get 4g). the phone itself is everything i expected, i bought great hardware. i fully expected to be able to hack at it and make it how i wanted, which is what we got with the albiet lackluster dev community, but at least i have froyo, the only major drawback that i can see to the epic has been the rather inconsitent seeming quality control on the hardware itself.
GPS working perfect on some or not at all/spotty on others. the major downside to the GPS problem and trying to find a fix(which could be as stupid as putting a papperclip on the internal antenae(dont do this it was only an example)) or just waiting for source and recompiling the drivers to cover more internal revisions of the chip. im guessing that since froyo is still "private beta" that the gps problems will persist, but since everyone seems to believe that di18 had solved it for all, it's hard to say. if you're unhappy with the phone because you feel left behind i dunno what to say except, did you really expect to get more than just a great hardware device and a phone network? We all bought this one above all else because of what it was not what it could become.
I enjoy this phone more and more everyday. I switched over from tmobile and I had the g1 with them and then the motorola cliq, they both worked fine when I 1st got them but being on the tmobile network was a pain, they always had problems(so I'm glad I ditced them after 5 yrs of service.)
Now as for the epic, its way faster then my other 2 android phones from tmobile and it let's me do more, I'm also in NYC and I've notice that 4g only works for me when I'm in the city. When I head home (brooklyn) it just doesn't stay connected to the 4g service so ill agree with you there. The other thing that I don't like is the keyboard and its lag, other then those two things I can deal with this phone, its quite fast and screen is freaking beautiful!
P.S: battery problem is a common for android phones so I don't include that in my dislikes.
- Its just going to be Epic!
I would say I like this phone the exact amount as the day I got it, which is a lot. I would say I like android more and more each day as I find new more useful apps.
As far as the phone is concerned I live and work very close to major freeways so 4g reception is terrific in my workplace and in my home, in fact it is better than 3g in both places. A downside for me is that this phone seems to have worse reception than my old tp2 but it has never really been to much of an issue. The battery has never been a problem for me, I can make it run out in a few hours if I really wanted but last weekend I was sick on the couch the whole holiday and my phone made it 40+ hours chillin beside me since i didn't really use it much. The keyboard is no touch pro 2 but I still prefer it over the screen for typing long emails and now that i have a GAMEGRIPPER i play emulators quite a bit. I do still need to shave down some of the gamegrippers buttons but i digress. Overall I am very satisfied and I hope that there are developers out there who will make stuff targeted at more powerful phones like ours.
edit: sorry the screenshot is kinda weird but it is still readable and my screen was only on for 62 min.
I suppose that there are more things to hate right now.
Battery life needs improvement. Hate.
My phone recently overheated and shut down. Hate.
Ran out of room for apps. Hate.
Pen-tile and poor whites. Hate.
GPS is worthless. Hate.
Very responsive. Like.
Boots up pretty quickly. Like.
Looks different than other phones. Like.
Keyboard - not sure. I actually want a 5-row keyboard, but I want one like the HTC Touch Pro 2; this layout isn't that great.

Ok.. this thread is not as boring as the other ones.. I agree with the above,
there is so much to like about the phone. If you don't like it.. get a phone that suits you.

Nah, my phone is really cool I totally dig it. About the only thing I dislike is the fact that the battery doesn't last very long.
About the keyboard.. its funny, I do a lot of typing through swype, like at least 80% or so. Sometimes I think I could have gotten away without a physical keyboard, then I go to type some non-dictionary word or url or something and it's just easier to flip out the physical keyboard than it is to fight with the on screen keyboard. I think of it like that old saying about guns.. "Better the have one and not need it than to need one and not have it."
edit: getting froyo on my phone was pretty easy. I'm marginally technically inclined and it wasn't any harder than installing/configuring an OS on a desktop (I guess technically it is exactly that) It took about a few hours of research and a couple retries to sort all the kinks out but it's very smooth now.
still bitter about that battery tho..
oh yea not receiving 4G service in San Pedro yet still paying extra for 4G is lame..

Serious heart to heart.

Just to apologize in advance to posting this thread.
I really need help on a choice im on the fence about since next week I will lose my 30 day return period.
Here it is 5 Nexus S's later and almost every unit had a different problem.
1st: soft resets at least 4 times a day.
2nd: wifi doesn't work
3rd: massive screen banding.
4th: back button did not respond to touch.
Now: screen coating is peeling.
I love Gingerbread! Its going to be really hard giving this away. I love the design and profile of this phone.
I've convinced myself that its ok for the weak wifi signal and a Gps that doesn't lock as good as other phones.
I'm torn between returning it or sending it in for repair.
I also have owned every Tmobile smartphone (MT4G, G2, Vibrant), I could exchange it for one of those.
Why lol does the best phone ive seen in a while have to be seriously half-assed.
Not because of the features but because of all those problems I put above.
I want something that works pretty solid and software mix but it looks the world is in capable of doing this.
Thanks And hope some one with patience can help me out.
Idk man I just picked up nexus s today from bestbuy, I had the vibrant and the problems you've had software/device related I have not seen on mine. Mine just OTA updated about 2 hrs ago to 2.3.1. I havent had it long enough to comment on peeling but ya.
Its solid device to me so far, But I understand what your saying after 5 NS later.
Yeah I really dont feel disappointed. Just sad. lol
I dont want to send it in because thats 2 weeks without it And I HATE Samsung especially their costumer support!
Well I know ur sad about it, But in order for stuff to be changed its gotta cost samsung money that all these phones r coming back. I mean its a shame, but maybe you still have a old android phone to hold ya over?
Nope lol I sold my nexus one....worst mistake of my life I guess Ill just do the return and hopefully my patience will pay off.
What sucks is that even after six months Samsung wont improve this phone as far as defects go. Look at the vibrant lol
If you have a good one with no problems hold on to it man because I wish my luck was good enough to have a good one.
On my third one here, will use vmy black tie for another eventually. Shop around. I went to different best buys. Some get bad batched. One had 10 all with the creased glass screen. Another had none. Some of these phones were made days before the launch so though its disappointing, I believe there are good ones. I have one now but the stupid platinum case already scratched my phone.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Like the poster above me, I would try to exchange at a completely different Best Buy. Bad batches are called so for a reason--the entire batch may be faulty.
I picked up my Nexus S at 8:00AM Launch Day and haven't had a single issue with it at all. I had to go through three MT4Gs before I returned it completely, and three G2s before I was satisfied with the last one(it still had issues, but at that point, I was tired of dealing with it). And on the screen coating thing: I don't know what coating people are talking about and if there is such a coating, then I think alot of folks are expecting too much out of it. Review/unboxing videos and my own device had fingerprints showing up the second people started using it. Do folks honestly expect touchscreen phones not to show fingerprints/smudges ever? That's unrealistic, imo.
And it's only under direct light(i.e. a directional lamp pointed right at it) that I see them at all. In day to day use, it's not an issue for me.
story like this, makes me feel a really really lucky guy, since i ordered mine by mail.
it'd have been a nightmare if it had any of those defects
I appreciate all the insight so far.....
If i do go back to an old one it would probably be the G2
but Im thinking of getting another one and fit it with a screen protector right away to stop this peeling garbage.

Have you tried returning your phone at another best buy? (if you can) as others have said, if your local store has a bad batch and sales are low you may keep getting units from the same batch.
Depending on the staff, you could also ask about the number of returns that store has had recently.
Seems a shame after 5 phones not to try once more in the hope you get a good one!

This doesn't sound like a bad idea whatsoever. Seriously... I'm on my 4th SNS. I just love it too much to give up. I did two swaps at one best buy, fully returned it and drove to another one. This one seems solid now, and I have a month if I change my mind, but if that's the case, I'll return it and go online. Sounds like you guys have been having luck, no?
If you look for defects you're going to find them.

I'm about to quit the NS

So, as the title states, I am about to quit. I keep having problems with software and hardware alike. I'm like on my tenth NS... I think I would be leaving Android for a while too. If I returned it I would go with a BB 9780. I don't know, I would love your opinions though, because, surprisingly enough, this is a hard decision.
Thanks all.
I say sell it & get the Motorola Atrix when it comes out. It's a really powerful phone. However you might want to wait a few weeks after it's out & get as much feedback & info as possible. You never know.
Thank you, but I'm not interested in Motorola, plus, there will be phones with the same specs, if not better in the coming months. I'm just disappointed in the NS, and I want to stick with Google, they deliver the best Android experience. And I've always loved BB
Omfg a TENTH NS??! Sounds like the store got a bad batch try a different store.

There's three in my area. I finally bought one online (10th, got it today), and I'm just not happy at all. I was using an old BB 8900 and I loved it.

Another screen crease, volume buttons, random reboot, and a dead pixel.
You seem to be extremely unlucky..
i agree. You are definately very down in luck to have 10? bad NS.
I'm absolutely in love with my NS coming from the N1...

Yeah, I am... Ok. I made my mind up. I'm gonna return it. I just dont feel the magic anymore. And BB is really pulling me back.
I have a bunch of accessories including two extra batteries (1400mAh) w/charger (china), tech 21 case (from UK), samsung neoprene pouch (eBay). If anyone is interested, $65 shipped, tomorrow even if you wanted.

Yeah I agree too, but don't you see how I'm like ready to be done with this ****?! Like, no more NS at all. I'm done.
Easy, killer. If you don't want it, you don't want it. No biggie.
I went through 6 of these before I found a good one.
Now that I do have a good one everything is great. Dead pixel is a problem but the volume rocker seeming loose and the screen crease are not really defects I'd say. The majority have that. If the phone is rebooting on stock 2.3 then you def got a lemon.

Sorry to hear that. You do have bad luck, dont hope it follows you to your next phone.

So a "crackberry addict"* couldn't make the switch to android. That's not surprising, it's a big paradigm shift to make.
My iPhone loving friend tried a Vibrant with Froyo and hated it no end. He couldn't make the switch either.
If you went through 10 Nexus S, and they legitimately were defective, you've had the worst luck I've ever seen anyone have with phones.
Thanks for sharing.
*crackberry addict used strictly tongue in cheek and is in no way intended to be some kind of slur
maybe try a HTC device with Froyo 2.2
like the HTC Desire Z
it's an easier switch for BB addicts, it got a real keyboard, fast, and work properly right out of the box without any customization
i'll have picked one up for myself if it came with SAMOLED

Its funny. I had a Bold 9700 and decided to get a mytouch3g 3.5MM and after about a week, sold it and went back to my blackberry bold.. I started to get the itch about 3 months later to buy a Nexus One. Had it for about 1 month and said AGAIN, not for me, and sold it. Went back to a Bold 9700...
Now, I thought about the Nexus S and said hell, why not try it out.. SOLD THE BLACKBERRY after 1 week with the Nexus. I love the nexus s..
It took me a while, but I made the jump and i'm not going back.
Blackberry Pros : Battery life is amazing, Text, Email, BBM, Can drop it off a building and still works, solid phone. KEYBOARD IS AWESOME
Cons: App Store non-existent, almost no memory built into the phones, web is horrible !! Battery Pulls, Freezing ,should I continue ?
A good friend of mine just switched from a tour to an Evo and after a week went back to the Tour.. He is already telling me he misses the web and maps from the evo.
Long story Long : See you back here in a few months when you buy the Galaxy S 2 lol
So "quit" it and be done. Why do people feel the need to announce their every thought here?

Because I value you my fellow xda members' opinions. Is that wrong?
I've had every kind of phone, whether it be Android (HTC Magic, Nexus One, Nexus S, WP7 (HD7), iPhone (1, 2, 3, & 4) , BlackBerry (8310, 8900, 9000), Nokia (N96, N97). So, it's not like this was my first Android experience and the NS killed it for me, I'm an experienced Android user, but I will be back one day when something amazing comes out. And for now I'm choosing BB for a replacement. But, I'm not a crackberry addict, I was like two years ago with the Bold 9000, maybe I will be now, but that's beside the point.
I just thought that your guys' opinions mattered, so thanks to the nice people here, and I'll be seeing you guys around later on..

On my 2nd Shift and I am done.

After my last post about needing to run to stock to get my phone fixed, sprint took their time to send me a replacement, might I add my mother has an evo 3D and 2 days before mine broke her's did the same. I got a replacement yesterday finally after being told it was sent more than a week ago (I live in florida so that's illogical)
My replacement is now having the same exact issues of flickering, half touch screen not working and random dead spots on the digitizer for the half that does work.
I am simply done with HTC, I was told that due to the issues I had with them hanging up on me, dropping me after saying I was on hold and having my replacement take 2 weeks to get to me after being told it was shipped on the day I went in only for it to have been shipped few days ago from me receiving it, I may be either switching from sprint. He did put a flag and ticket up for me on my issues though, he seemed to be the only tech that cared. He said I should now be able to get a new phone entirely, so I may just switch to the samsung epic, it's old but It's better than this ****.
Sorry but I needed to vent about this crap, thought some of you might have gone through the same, I am just starting college again and this was not the time to be dealing with this crap.
That sucks, I've never had any issues with HTC myself. Had a HTC G1 before this and it's still working even with a half cracked screen. Every phone is going to have some defective ones made. I've known a lot of people with Samsung that also get defective phones. Sorry you had a bad experience though.

Ugh, don't get the Epic... If you push hard enough you should be able to get the NS4G, i know at least 3 people that got the Nexus as a replacement. Plus its a solid device.
Sent from my PG06100 using Tapatalk
My cousin and friend have the epic and I really liked it, they didn't have any issues with it since the gb update, but if I do get the NS4G I will take it, just don't like not having a keyboard even though I barely used it on my shift. The possibility of me getting another shift is high also but I am going to complain til I get a new phone, 3 phones with same issues is bull.
It's not a problem with the shift that I've seen very frequently. I've gone through 4 shifts. I say you should give the Shift another chance. It's the best phone Sprint has short of a nexus prime and if you're like me, you don't want a nexus prime because there's no keyboard.
edit/note: Make sure you try and get a Sprint store rep to send you a REPLACEMENT rather than going through asurion. Make sure you express your extreme dissatisfaction, time lost, and the fact that you are considering cancelling your account. This is the biggest thing that is hurting Sprint right now, customer retention, so I'm pretty sure that would help. If it doesn't go to another Sprint store, call Sprint customer service, ask for a supervisor, and express your extreme dissatisfaction with the service you received at that store.
That is what I plan to do, guy on the phone said I can ask for a replacement fine due to all the flags on my account from the last week.

Cool. From what I've heard getting a replacement phone is almost as good as getting a brand new phone.
If you have issues with the 2nd phone and you have asurion take both phones in to the Sprint store and they can swap bad parts for good parts. Just call Sprint customer service ahead of time and tell them to schedule an appointment for you.
I already sent in my original and I got this replacement here and more parts of my digitizer are slowly not working, I have just enough response to answer calls.

Get 1 more replacement. Trust me I had to go through 3 to get a good shift. Also make sure you hack it up and see how far you can overclock it. If you can get past 1.6ghz you've got a good cut of the wafer CPU.
Both my original and this replacement could do 2.0ghz and be just fine, it's the screen that kept giving out, my flex ribbon in my first broke while I took a nap then this phone's digitizer took a dive right after activating it, then it worked fine, put a screen protector on it. To which it stopped working, then wouldn't work without the protector on now wont work at all.

Yeah I found a place here that will put the screen protector on perfectly here, you should be able to find one in the mall once you get a good working Shift.

The more i think about it the more i dont really care.
Honestly, i dont do much with my phone because im stingy with my battery life and ram lol
I honestly dont know why i want a more powerful phone, so I'm just gonna give my shift a good use until its time to upgrade or use my insurance.
If i get offered a nexus though, im taking it.
Not willing to ditch this guy yet, I didnt think I was gonna need/like the slideout keyboard, but now I love it lol

Maybe... maybe straight hardware wise... but if you're looking for a phone with a good amount of development I think you'll be disappointed with it. Same goes for the E3D and the Design. If I were getting a new phone I'd wait until the Galaxy Nexus is released. There may be phones with better hardware but hardware is kinda like benchmarks - good for comparing your e-penis but doesn't necessarily determine how the actual user experience is. The pure Nexus experience really is nice and the Galaxy Nexus will have a lot of great development for a long time to come. Personally I'm really pleased with my Nexus S and don't think I'll grow tired of it before my next upgrade in 10 months.

Can't find it right now, but I'm pretty sure I saw a comparison (maybe phonedog?) of the Galaxy Nexus vs e4gt and nexus was REALLY laggy going from portrait to landscape compared to e4gt. Of course it was stock vs. stock . . .
Seems to me that development for the shift is great. Seems like e4gt is a really popular phone, hmmm .. . - is development worse because of something intrinsic to the phone?
I have owned my Shift since the day it came out. My friend has one and so does my brother. All working, no problems what's so ever. I love this little guy and I'm sorry you were having bad luck with faulty hardware.
My dad has a Samsung Epic no problems I guess.
I really want ICS but like the physical keyboard to get the Nexus.
