OK, I have read a lot of threads but could not find a solution. Need assistance please.
FIRST - Purchased Vibrant. Used the SGS Unlock apk from the Market - it generated a code, but I did not have another sim card so it remained locked.
SECOND - Flashed Eugne Froyo ROM.
THIRD - Flashed ONYX
FOURTH - Currently on Axura. Called T Mo to get my unlock code. Entered code but it showed unsuccessful.
FIFTH - ODIN to JK2 - Still unsuccessful. ODIN to JI6. Still unsuccessful.
SIXTH - Back on Axura 2.0.5 and still unsuccessful to unlock phone.
With the unlock code, is there any way to unlock my Vibrant?

Hi All
newbie to this phone and semi new to android. Mine is a i5801 which is locked to orange. I have rooted the device using z4root.
But is there a easy way to put custom roms on this phone ?
Also is there a free easy way to unlock the phone from orange ?
Thanks
to unlock the phone from orange
first download Odin and change ur firmware to anything other than orange(I5801BVJP9)
the instructions are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=778880 (stock)
even if u use z4root the phone will not be rooted coz orange locks away access
the procedure is same as above to install new Roms
if u want custom roms then go for kyrillos jpf gingerbread v2.3 or lestatious v1.2
good luck!!
I have put a new firmware on there with 2.2 but its still locked
which one did u try
i once put orange from france on my phone &it got locked when i changed my firmware then it became unlocked
do u still have orange apps!!! if so then u did not change the firmware properly
try I5800XXJPA it is the basic firmware for froyo
Maybe there's a branding vs. locking confusion. If you flash e.g. an Orange Firmware, your phone gets branded, but not locked. It will still work with non-Orange SIMs (if it did so before). So no SIM lock, just branding. The phone will tell you it's from Orange, but not insist on using only Orange SIMs and nothing else.
Locking is a /efs thing, which, to my knowledge, has not been decoded yet. Also, /efs is not changed by flashing a new firmware. So, currently, there's no known way to unlock a locked G3 phone.
Except, of course, the official way: You got a phone at a reduced price. Part of the deal is that you now need to use SIMs from the company which had to deal with the difference. So it doesn't sound insane to me that you have to give them some money back to have them unlock your phone.
success , but it now say its rooted but its not
if u have superuser app then it's rooted that's it
goto menu and search for superuser app no need to open it if it is present then ur phone is rooted
superuser app does nothing on its own it gives permission to other apps like the allow/deny and administrator preferences in win7/vista
I have super user but setcpu says no your not rooted
Hello,
I tried several things to unlock my phone, unfortunately, unsuccessfuly.
I use the Sim Unlock code provided by Vodafone : no chance
I rooted the phone and tried Region Lock Away or the Sim Unlock Samsung app, no chance either. I think that the phone is rooted properly but everytime an app request root access, it times out.
I am running out of (good) idea. Any pointer would be very helpful!
Thanks
David
Are you trying all of these thing while running a stock ROM?
I had the same problem with t-mobile in America. It was because I was using a custom rom. I backed up my phone, installed a "stock rooted rom" and was then unable to unlock the sim. Then I used my backup to restore my phone back to the custom rom. Good luck.
I used Odin 3.04 then I install CWM recovery on it.
I tried to unlock the phone before rooting it but it didn't work which is why I try to root it, nothing works... What is a stock rom ? I only want to sim unlock it really, i dont need / want it rooted specifically
What is a stock rom
Stock as in standard firmware as supplied by Samsung .
This all assumes you have a custom rom installed.
You can return your phone to stock (maybe) but it's kind of a pain.
It seems easier to flash a stock rooted rom, which is similar enough to stock to fix your problem.
Google "stock rooted rom vodafone note 3" or maybe just N9005XXUGBOA5_N9005VFGGBOA2 seems to be what you are looking for {actually that appears to be the stock file that you can flash with odin and mostly re-stock your phone.... not sure if it will accomplish what you need}.
I've got a S4 AT&T running OK2 with root and it ran my AirVoice Wireless SIM perfectly fine for a month while I researched and got a new phone. I'd now like to use it as a backup phone with a FreedomPOP SIM but it's giving me grief about "SIM network unlock PIN". This is the carrier lock correct? I found a tutorial that has you go into the Service Mode and turn off NETWORK LOCK. This tutorial doesn't seem to work (missing the options) in OK2. Do I have to downflash to 4.2.2 in order to get these options? If so, how do I go about doing that? I put OK2 with root on this phone but that process took 2 days and with all the mixed info out there and different versions, it's confusing to say the least.
My other question is, I tried flashing TWRP (jflteatt) and I believe I ended up with the "software not authorized by AT&T" error. Doing some reading, it looks like this may be due to not using a loki'd TWRP?
Any pointers/tips would be much appreciated. All this Samsung stuff is way over my head despite having rooted, recoveried and rom'd maybe a dozen Android devices. I much prefer LG and Moto

Yeah you're carrier locked. I think you can only downgrade to NB1 from OK2, not sure you can carrier unlock on NB1 or not. As for installing TWRP you can't due to the locked bootloader. You can only use safe strap recovery and boot only custom touch wiz roms. Loki only works on the MDB and MDL bootloaders, once you've upgraded the bootloader past MDL, you can't go back.
If the AT&T phone is like the i337m and m919, you may be able to flash down to 4.4.2, flash a 4.2.2 modem, root, run regionlockaway, upgrade modem back to 4.4.2.
Thanks for the replies. I grabbed NB1 from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616221
and flashed it via Odin. All went well but when it came time to follow various instructions I found online, they either yielded no unlock or the options weren't in the menu. I don't think the free unlock trick via the service menu works on 4.4.2/NB1.
I researched a bit more and feel very stupid with one of the results that came up... AT&T offers online unlocking of their devices and you don't even have to be one of their customers! I figured I could go to one of their retail stores but also figured they would deny me since I'm not a customer. I'll be jiggered though, here it is: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/
Slapped my IEMI in with my e-mail and in less than an hour or so, I got my unlock code for free. AT&T said they would e-mail it but I checked back on the status page and found the code there. Hopefully this helps other people.
So, moving forward now, is OK2 the best I can do with a locked bootloader? I ran it for a while but I found that I burned through my data real quick because when I would leave my WiFi coverage and come back, it would reconnect but for some reason wouldn't actually use WiFi (data was still on, had the 4G icon) until I restarted the phone. Basically, every time I left and came back home, I had to restart my phone. Is this a known issue, did I botch something in the install process? I may make another thread for this.
*EDIT*
Running OK2 for a while, I no longer have the WiFi issues I had before. Doing some thinking, I can only attribute the issue to either incorrectly followed steps the first time around flashing OK2 or the use of the debloater script found in the OK2 downloads thread. I've been using Link2SD to remove system apps and so far haven't removed anything that has affected WiFi.
Originally bought ba locked P9 Lite over a year ago ...got my unlock code via DC unlocker ...all worked fine.
So I wanted to upgrade to a more recent version ...used firmware finder...unfortunately chose the wrong flavour of firmware & it's all gove very wrong since then.
I can get my phone working but can't remove the wrong version from updater...it's always now wanting to update to that version (which doesn't work). So I only have two options...
1. Live with the updater telling me that there's an update available (to the wrong version ...as chosen by me in formware finder)
2. Completely wipe my phone...but for this I need to unblock my bootloader...here's the thing, the code I got from DC Uulocker over a year ago doesn't appear to be working (get "wrong password" when I use the fastboot oem unlock command"
So to my question...does the bootloader unlock code change if/when changing (stock) roms?
If I pony up for some more DC Unlocker credits, will this get me out of my current predicament?
Have you tried to clear the Updater app data/cache ?
Well after an awful lot of faffing about (not involving clearing out any cache)...it seems to have disappeared (not sure how/why though)

Good
Hi all,
Long time, no see.
I pulled my trusty old Note 3 out of its box the other day and man is this phone ace. The screen is amazing, processing power still seems pretty decent (on Lineage 18.1 it seems much snappier than Stock ROMs) but I can not make phone calls!! I am thwarted by that dastardly "SIM network unlock PIN" message!
The phone was purchased new in the UK many years back and I am now living in another country and no longer have access to any UK SIM cards (I understand that one potential way of getting rid of the "SIM network unlock PIN" message that comes up and prevents cell network access is to load a UK SIM and make 5-10 minutes of phone calls?)
Now firstly I managed to upgrade from a stock ROM (Android 5 maybe?) to Lineage 18.1. Everything was going swell. fastboot was working at this point. I managed to root the phone using Magisk and tried to install Chainfire's "Regionlock away" tool ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/app-2013-11-04-regionlock-away-v1-3-root.2470551/) but this errored out due to a lack of CSC being set via Lineage presumably?
I also obtained the Carrier unlock code for the hardware from Vodafone UK, (not knowing at this point that this was most likely the region lock) but this code didn't work.
Because I have no idea what I am doing I thought I would try and install/flash just the CSC via Odin 3.13.1 and loaded "BTU" (UK/GB) Stock Lollypop ROM - I clicked the "CSC" field in Odin and loaded the full "N9005XXSGBQA3_N9005VNZGBOK4_N9005XXUGBPD1_HOME.tar.md5" Stock ROM ignorantly thinking it would just change the CSC/Region but what ended up happening is that it simply flashed the whole ROM back to Lollypop 5.
Now life started getting difficult, after this, my Lineage Recovery had been replaced by the stock Recovery, I still had the "SIM network unlock PIN" message and now, to make matters worse - fastboot would no longer connect to the phone!! Now this is most likely a Windows Drivers problem but why would this have changed at this point I have no idea! Also I have noted that depending on the ROM I'm running (Stock vs OS) the phone is detected in slightly different ways by my Windows machine when in "download" mode: On Stock Rom I get the "Samsung_Mobile" unknown device in Windows Device manager and NO amount of fiddling with Samsung Windows USB drivers seems to be able to resolve this. When the phone is on Lineage 18.1 I no longer have any unknown devices - the phone is seen as a USB Modem and a USB controller but crucially, fastboot is no longer working. Running "fastboot devices" on Windows returns nothing anymore. Why has this broken?
I seem to only be left with Odin flashing and "adb sideload" to be able to get anything on there now.
So this means that rooting my phone seems to be a little more difficult now but I will keep banging away at it this this evening.
Anyway, if anyone who happens to read this would like to help me out remove this Samsung Region lock I would be most appreciative!!
Cheers..
Managed to get back to Root via Magisk. Just uploaded the APK to the phones local storage, renamed from .apk to "Magisk-v25.2.zip" booted to Lineage Recovery and installed from there. Now when I run the RegionLock Away tool, I get "Could not locate CSC Data! you could try flashing a CSC package to correct this"
Currently Running LineageOS 18.1-20220917-NIGHTLY-hlte.
Trawling the forums I understand that using RegionLock Away tool from 2013 is likely not the easiest way to go about removing the Region lock but I am still yet to find that easiest way!!
