Hello,
short question:
i have changed
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCONTACTS
"String 1" value from :MSPOUTLOOK contacts to "\Program Files\PocketCM\PocketCM.exe".
Ok, now, when i klick on contacts PocketCM opens.
But when i click on EDIT CONTACT in any othe Programm the standard WM Contact Manager comes up, not PocketCM.
What must i do in this case?
Thanks

T-Mobile (Germany) made some strange changes: They created folders for varius programs. "Messaging" ist the folder Messaging (Nachrichten) and Email-Wizzard.
When I press the softkey "Messaging" (i.e. at the bottom of the Today-Screen) the folder Messaging is opened and not the aplication.
That's anoying. How cane I change the function of a softkey?

you have to change the application software, or write an application where you can use the softkeys.
OK, maybe my message was a bit misunderstandable.
At the todayscreen there are two softkeys at the bottom line: Messages (Nachrichten) and Calendar (Kalender).
Messages is maped to a folder, which contains the links to Messages and the EmailWiz.
The name an target of the softkey can be changed here:
\HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112 and 113
Interestingly the keys are mapped to the folowing programs: HTCCalendar and HTCMessages.
But wich is the program and path to the original "messages"?
I believe the original program is \Windows\tmail.exe
However, my JASJAR doesn't have the 113 reg key. I have the 112 key and I've changed it to Resco Explorer.
@rilot: How many softbuttons do you have at the todayscreen? Only one?
I succesfuly changed it to tmail.exe. IT works. I don't know if there are some parameters which I should hand over - but it works...
I have 2 buttons on the today screen.
Calender and Contacts by default. I've changed the one marked contacts to Resco Explorer as contacts has it's own key on the keyboard.
I think you only need to create the 112 and 113 reg keys if you wish to change the default functions of the buttons.
I HAVE tryied to "search" this topic, but could really find what i needed. Sorry if its here somewhere..
I want to switch of the "SMS sent" notification bubble, that i get everytime i send and SMS on my Qtek 9000..
I dont mean "delivery notification"
Thanks a lot!
I found this on another site, here's how you can change it via registry edit:
Getting rid of the Message Sent notification for text messaging
1. First, you will need to download a Registry Editor to help you do it...
a good one will be the freeware PHM Registry Editor
or for those who got the Resco Explorer, you can use the Registry Editor that comes with it...
2. using the Registry Editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox
3. Next, click on Inbox (make sure the Inbox is highlighted) and select Edit, New Key
4. Name the New Key as "Settings"
5. Click on "Settings" (make sure the Settings is highlighted) and select Edit, New String Value
6. On "Value name:", key in SMSNoSentMsg and in "Value data", key in 1
7. Soft reset your device and test it with one SMS
Click to collapse

Hi!
Thanks a lot for this!
After trying this it still doesnt work..
I followed it very carefully, but I still get the notification...
Would could I have done wrong?
After you make the changes, but before you softreset, try changing a setting from the main settings screen (like the size of the on screen keyboard). Then, power off for about 30 seconds, then soft reset. Sometimes it is tricky getting registry changes to get written to the device.
My first experience of playing with registrys and it works a treat
How can you also turn off the notification AND get the Exec to Sync? Mines decided not to Sync anymore
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Is there any way of assigning the sms inbox to one on the hardware keys?
Thanks in advance
For sure. Get yourself a Registry Editor (there are multiple ones; I prefer the one form resco that comes with Resco Explorer, which is shareware, but you can also use PHMRegedit I think it's called, that's free). Then change this key:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112]
"Default"="Start"
"Open"=":MSINBOX"
Default will contain the label of the button on homescreen, Open the file to open. :MSINBOX should directly take you to your inbox. I think you could also use "poutlook.exe -service "SMS" -inbox" instead of :MSINBOX, this would always take you to your SMS inbox. :MSINBOX goes to last-opened.
hey thnks for the rept but after typing in ;msinbox nothing happens when i press the hardware key :S
It's a : and not ;. If you did this correct and it still doesn't work, try this instead of :MSINBOX
Code:
tmail.exe -service "SMS"
Hello all,
I've had my Pro for two days now, and I'm working on changing the softkeys with a registry editor called "PHM Registry Editor".
Right now, I've got my right soft key set to bring up my SMS inbox, but I want it to bring up a "new SMS".
The value data is currently set at: "\Windows\tmail.exe"
What is the file path I need to use so it will bring up a new SMS as opposed to my whole inbox?
Thanks so much to anyone who can help!
PS: I would appreciate "lamens terms", if possible - I'm not too tech savvy!
I've been trying all day to get it to go directly to a New SMS, but to no avail. All I can get it to do is go to my SMS inbox....
Any help??
If not, can I change the "delete" softkey that appears inside of the sms inbox to a "new" function??
I hate that I have to hit like 5 buttons to send a damn text message!!!
Please help!!!
"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to ""-body"

I'm doing this and its still taking me directly to my inbox... Any thoughts?
A gift for you...
Unzip and copy smssender.exe somewhere to your phone - program files folder is a good place. Assign a shortcut to it, and then assign one of your softkeys to the shortcut.
Voila... 1 tap to start sending an sms!
Hi there,
On the HTC main menu bar, the one you slide horizontally, there is a shortcut to the HTC contacts program.
I don´t like this program since I can´t have a grouping of contacts per company which the built-in contacts program have.
So I was wondering how I can change the shortcut on the HTC menu to the built in contacts program instead?
I checked on other forums and the reply was that it probably can´t be done, maybe it can be done with a registry hack. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help ...
You can't change the Manila default program to show another program in the contacts tab.
One solution would be to set one of your soft keys or a hardware button to point to the contact program of your choice.
Also some contact programs like Resco CM can be set as your default program, but that just means it will open when you press All Contacts in the contacts tab.
