Factory Data Reset App Install Location - XPERIA X10 General

Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering if anybody knows if, when performing a factory data reset, where the stock apps are installed from? I know there are .apk files in system/app/
There was a time where I reset and superuser was still on the mainscreen, which was solved by deleting superuser.apk from this folder. However putting on the other things I had removed (moxier.apk) didn't result in the phone installing moxier on factory data reset.
Does anyone know how the phone installs things on factory data reset, i.e. where .apk has to be and if there's a script that needs to be changed to tell it to install the additional .apk ?

I deleted my phone app. :<

so i accidentally deleted my stock phone and/or contacts app.
does anyone have an .apk or knows where i can dl it?
or any other solution for the problem.
thanks.
If you used Root Explorer, you have trouble. Probably the best solution is to re-flash stock ROM with SEUS. You might also try using .sin files decryption from flashtool files, but it's a little difficult.
i used the wrong expression, i didn't delete them, i just uninstalled them. according to what you thought, i guess the .apks still exist on my phone. but i don't know where. :/
or don't they?
Check in system/app using Root Explorer. If you won't find them, they're probably deleted and hard to restore.
What ROM do you use? If it's cooked ROM, you can get the .apk simply by unziping the ROM archive, you've downloaded in system/app.
I have found the .apks.
I have installed them but nothing. I tried deleting the data and reinstalling but nothing. I believe they would show up in menu if i deleted them completely and installed them again. But in the app manager i can only stop the process and wipe the data, i can't uninstall..
I have uninstalled them with another app, fast uninstaller for root.
Flash the ROMĀ“s update.zip again.
or restore a backup of the same ROM with advanced restore, so that you only restore /system.
wow, that's clever. i flashed the whole ROM, never thought of only restoring the /system. :/
but it's solved.

A troubleshooting attempt. Initial setup didn't restore my WiFi passwords and playstore purchases. Logged out from my Google account, tried to log back in but doesn't get past the "checking info" screen. Don't wanna factory reset. Wanna try a different restore point.
Sorry, but there is no choice then doing a factory reset, but here is what you can do:
1.download titanium backup and backup all the apps(excluding system apps)
2.go to file Manger and move the "Titanumbackup" folder to SD card
3.reboot to recovery and factory rest
4.do what you want in the setup
5.at the restore apps screen your are going to chose your device and that the apps deselect all the apps expect titanium backup
6.open file Manger and move the "Titanumbackup" folder back to interial storage
7.open titanium backup and restore the apps (that you have back it up from step 1)
Now enjoy[emoji4]

User apps missing after reboot?

I updated two xposed plugins and after I restarted the phone my user apps were all gone, not recognized by the system. Their folders are still in data/app however.
All data folders have the read permission, so I don't understand what caused it. I tried wiping dalvik cache to force it but nothing.
This thread can be locked now, fixed it by deleting the folder of the broken plugin from data/app

reinstalling a system app

so I was having an issue with the stock messaging app, made a Titanium backup and uninstalled it. So now the backup will not restore for some reason. I have a full system backup on my PC so I tried to pull the apk from priv-app, placed it, set permissions, and rebooted. No dice, messaging force closes when I try and launch it.
Any ideas how I might fix this issue? Thanks in advance!

alt autocycle

After I got my new phone I installed ES Fileexplorer only to find out that it is rumored to ship with spyware.
I uninstalled it and checked for files that were not removed and found 2 suspicious folders. I forgot the name of the one (something with d) and was able to remove it. I wasn't able to remove alt_autocycle (it comes back everytime). I did a factory reset and still have the same issue, alt_autocycle remains. The folder is empty by the way.
There wasn't a definitive answer here.
Can some other moto g5 users confirm that this folder is normal? I already did a factory reset but the folder still comes back. Sophos found no threats.
Can I reflash the stock image without warranty loss (unlocking bootloader)?
thanks in advance!
I noticed that folder on the new factory reset device. So, I don't think it has something to do with ES file explorer or any application. I guess that folder is related to system and there is no need to be concerned about that.
