We would need a few more details before anybody can offer help.
You will need to make sure that your radio is 2.08.50 or above and ending in .50

First of all, please ignore my ignorance. I did some reading in the ([TUT] Flashing your First GSM USA 1024LEO ONLY!! (For Noobs)) thread about getting HARDSPL, but I guess I'm still a little confused because the word LEO still gets tossed around. From what I understand, LEO is the EU version of the HD2. I would just hate to get confused and brick my device.
I was wondering if someone would be so kind to advised me in a step process with some links of what I need to do to install a customer ROM on my phone if I provide my phones information.
-The reason I'm trying to get a custom ROM is due to the constant freezing.
I have a few questions as well...
1) I've heard that the 1st few batches of HD2s that came out had issues. One way to tell is if the soft reset button under the battery cover is red (which mine is). Is this true? Also, if I exchange it has it helped anyone else with the freezing issue?
2) If I install a custom ROM, can I still use the "swype" feature? I love that.
Here's some of my phones information and a picture attached of what it looks like when I hold VOL DOWN on startup.
Speed: 1024 MHz
RAM: 576 MB
Flash size: 1024 MB
Data bus: 32 bits
OS version: 5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87)
Manila version: 2.5.20121412.1
ROM version: 2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE
ROM date: 2/22/10
Radio version: 2.08.50.08_2
Protocol version: 15.34.50.07U
Sorry if this is more than needed, but I wanted to be thorough, haha.

This Guide is only for T-Mobile USA HD2 with 1024 Mbytes ROM (1024LEO)
The ModelID for this version of HD2 is PB811200

I don't really understand that.
Here's the ROM I wanted to try.
|L|6.5.5|TMOBILE USA| Energy Series ROMs 23559/21899 |Apr 17| ★ Sense 2.5 + More! |
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654504
Not sure which one to get though.
I hope someone can help out. Sorry for the book.
Thanks!
That is the thread you want to use if you have a US T mobile HD2, just follow it step by step. At first I thought it was hard too, but it's not. You will still be able to use swype.
For the most part, as long as the rom says that is compatible with TMOUSA, you will be ok. To be on the safe side, if the rom thread is not in this sub-forum... don't flash it. Just to be on the safe side.
Good luck!
they're all leos. apart from the issues with rom and radio the phones are identical. if an app works on one it will work on the other
i don't believe the red button yellow button rumour, personally.
Definitely good to know. Thanks.
Any comments on flashing to a new ROM fixing the freezing issues?
Also,
I take it I don't have to click this?
2. FLASH HARDSPL (REQUIRED!! DO THIS BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE)
The Original HardSPL Thread is *HERE* (link)
I just click this one?
1. Download HardSPL package from *HERE* (link) and extract to an empty folder.
I guess that makes it sound easier. When I click that link it opens file: HSPL2_1024_RUN.zip.
Does that sounds like the correct file I need? Also, correct me if I'm wrong. This is a 1 time thing, correct? After that, I can try new ROMS by just flashing them?
Lastly, any recommendations for ROMs? Good reviews on the Energy ROM?
Which one should I get? 21899 or 23563?
yes the hspl with 1024 in the name, its not quite as obvious to find as the other two. (anyone still searching see my sig.)
the 21xxx roms are 6.5 the higher ones are 6.5.x
i won't recommend one, its really personal preference. lots of people go for the popular half dozen, but i think they're missing out by not trying a few and decide for themselves.
How do I know if I have 6.5 or 6.5.x?
Sorry.

6.5 - start button at top left of screen (like stock roms)
6.5.x - start button is bottom left.
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate all the support. I'll let you know how it goes and if it fixes the freezing issues.
Dear All,
i face the following issues.
1) if i use froyo stone clean build (Release date: 07.AUG.2010 GMT)
after i following all the instructions, i hang on the line "jumping to kernel"
>> a search on the forum, ask me to change ram addresses and cmd="ips****", but it doesnt help.
2) if i use the latest Parad0XUA_Experimental, it hangs on "init panel" then the screen fades to black.
I would be glad if someone could help me on this
Thank you
whizz
Sorry i cant help, but i have the exact same jumping to kernal problem and thats with any version of android ive tried. Ive got a box full of HD2's and no version of android will work on any of them. Do you need custom ROMS to run them?
Really hope someone can answer this, we cant be the only people to have this issue.
You certainly need to change the Radio to a .50, and it would appear that a custom ROM helps too.

I have tried all radio version (2.08 ~ 2.12) none of them work for all fullram version ...
Changing the ROM did it for me. I was using a .51 ROM...replaced it with 2.15.50 ROM..Now, its fine and I must say Darkstone ROM is quite stable and performance is good too..I am using it on a 2GB card..( my 8GB went bad..Waiting for a replacement.. ) and it still gives me amazing speed.
I have resolved the problem using only the latest version of official rom by HTC without HSPL or anything else

What build are you trying? Is there a winmo recommended Rom that te builder suggest
To use?
Also you need to do a full fat32 format for your SD card, and it takes a good 10 - 15 min
For a new build to install. Make sure all files are in the Android folder.
Try loading it as fast as you can after booting winmo

That doesn't matter. They fixed that problem a long time ago.

My sd card says its in fat32 format so do i need to do it again?
Yes, format it with a full format just so we can eliminate that from the other problems it may be.
some problem with my hd2, any idea?
How long are you leaving it? it takes a good 15 min (depending on the speed of your card) for android to write a data.img file. Sometimes this will be provided for you but most times its better to let android set it up itself.
Leave it for 15 - 30 minutes. It should start up, also check your radio, its should be the .50 series, not .51.
I am probably the 1,000,000th person to ask this question.
But I just can't figure out how to get Android 2.2 on my HTC HD2 Leo..
I followed a lot of tutorials and youtube videos but I just don't get the 'Radio Flashing' and such. I have to check my SPL and to do that is hold down volume button and reset.. Well I did that, but still don't see SPL anywhere.
And other people just download the whole Android folder and copy in into the root and then install 2 files on it (I tried it too) but I got exactly the same thing as this guy, black screen:
www(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=zivfv_6EKsc
All the tutorials don't explain enough on how to see what SPL or Radio version or something I have and I don't know how to install the new or flash them or anything . I feel really n00bish, but I really really want to know how to install it.
Maybe one of you has a good tutorial? Or one you used to install it? maybe this may help, when I boot my phone I see this:
R 2.06.51.07
G 15.30.50.07U
D 1.66.76641
Do I need to use any of these? Of Upgrade/downgrade? I really hope someone can help a noob like me, and I really hope that you understand that I just don't get it..
Simple. Your radio ROM is 2.06, and that won't work.
Get a 2.10+ radio ROM and you'll be fine.
...Jesus we need a sticky to tell people about radio ROMs... it's always the one thing holding them back...
hello everyone
My phone get stuck on "Get You Connect" screen
i wait for it about 1hour...can anyone help me?
i have install recovery 390mb and SD partition 1024mb....
but....its loading loading and reloading....please~
How do you get things done? What is the problem?
Just curious.
Do you have the right partition and the right clockworld mod version cos some roms require specific clockworld mod versions and if you use any other you get what your experience...Read the instructions on the rom page and you'll figure it out but my guess is you haven't set the right partition...and and with coredroid you have to download his instructions cos he's a little bit different from other developers.
hd2 android rom
