Screen wont turn off - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Ive been running various version of andriod ever since the first release on the HD2. I just updated my version and all is super however my screen will not truly turn off, just a black screen..
This is my set up..
Android Build: mdeejay Froyo Sense v2.3 Clean
ROM: OzDROID ROM Radio: 2.15.50.14
Kernel hastarin r8.5
Help would be hugely appreciated as its really bugging me.

same for me. With hastarin 8.4 Kernel its not possible to turn off the display automatically.
For example when i use the nightclock in gentle alarm my display should turn off the backlight after a few seconds. With the old 8.2 Kernel this was no problem but in 8.4 the display never turn off complete it still glow a bit.

Screen Flicker/Brightness Issue CNA

I recently installed CodeNameAndroid 3.6.5 and I have been using it for a while. I have this ONE problem where I disable Auto Brightness in Display Settings < Brightness. I also disabled it in the Interface (Rom Settings) < Display. There is kind of a flicker of it auto brightness where it goes up or down. It kinda looks like it is adjusting the brightness. I know this isn't a problem with the hardware because when I use stock or another Rom, it doesn't have that problem. Responses/Fixes will be appreciated!
BTW: If you're not looking where this forum category this is posted on, It is the Nexus 7 With the problem.

I have the same problem in 3.6.6 on the s3
So its definitely the ROM
ditto, same problem on SGS3, i guess its why 3.6.6 for SGS Tmobile is not a stable version. Either way ill live with it/figure something out....so its part of the rom in this case...
Thanks For The Replies!

Phone freezing/screen unresponsive

Over the last few days I've had problems with extreme lag on my I9505, and several cases where the screen is completely unresponsive. Pressing the hard buttons (power/home) generally gets a response, but tapping on the screen doesn't. Only a cold reboot fixes it. What's the best way of diagnosing this?
I'm running Phoenix ROM v7.3 (which is based on stock Android 4.3).

Try to do a fullwipe once again and reflash your rom mate ....

D802 does not want to wake up (backlight is active, but screen stays black)

After upgrading my 16GB D802 from a beautifully working CM 10 to CM 13 the following problem occured:
After the screen shuts off (either by the phone going to standby or the proximity sensor in case of phone calls), it takes several attempts to activate the screen (you see the backlight turning on, but the screen stays black, then you have to click the power button to go into standby and try again til it works; tapping and pushing the power/standby button to wake the screen up work equally bad)
I tried going back to CM 10. On CM 10 the screen activates and deactivates as it should, but I had problems with very very unstable connections to wifi and cellular (which I had not before). (Also: I was stupid enough to not have made a backup of the previously stable CM 10 installation.)
All in all, I tested CM 13, 12, 11, and 10. 13 and 12 have the screen problem and 10 and 11 have the connection issue.
For all testing I used TWRP and the hybrid bootstacks.
Has someone experiences similar issues?
I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks so far!
Kind regards,
toas7
Cyanogenmod does not seem to be the problem. I've got the same issues with e.g. Mokee (MK51.1) and the Turbo ROM (Turbo-d802-4.0).
Might the bootstack be the culprit after all? Is there something that could have been gone wrong?
I tried the (zipped) stock ROM: the problem remains
Edit:
Flashing the modem (with a flashable modem) solved the issue with wifi and cellular on CM 11.
Software or hardware
Hello, I have the same issue but in addition the device is extremely lagged. Although I am still with stock mod and no root, by the moment. Could you help me?
