Do we have a working version of a2sd for froyo? Using the stock 2.2 a2sd sucks as the apps disappear if you mount your usb drive... I'm running BS1.6 and love a2sd on it...
Thanks...

I recently flashed my Epic to run Baked Snack 1.6 and just for grins decided to set it up for a2sd support. It seems to be working properly as Titanium Backup shows an a2sd partition. I also used Android Terminal to run some commands like "diskspace", "install", and "check" that shows it is running like TB shows.
I see the apps being stored at system/sd which I suppose is the Ext2 partition I made in CWM recovery mode. Can I insert apps directly into this file directory and have everything stay copasetic or do they have to install normally?
More than likley you will not get help here with that issue due to the maker of the rom is no longer here and his stuff is not supported.
Using baked snack is incidental to the thread. I need some info fom those using a2sd on eclair units.
When I was using a2sd on bs 1.6 created the partition, used terminal to initiate a2sd and it even moved over my old apps. Everything I installd defaulted to sd. The way I knew was that my phone memory was rediculously high, like 400mb, because on that rom dalvik cache is on sd as well.

Hi everyone,i need help.
I want to move my aplications on sd card but i dont know how.
Is there any option for that on phone or i should install something?
FroYo has it built in, and manges it automatically.
You could look into darktremor a2sd.
BlaY0's ROM has a2sd built in

Hey, I had a question on this.
Is the darktremor a2sd or the blayo rom a2sd any different from the froyo inbuilt a2sd ? If yes, how ?

Yes, they are different.
As far as I understand it (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong):
With the inbuilt Froyo method, the apps themselves need to have some code written in to them to enable Froyo to move them to the SD card.
With the alternative a2sd methods, the SD card is partitioned in such a way that the phone thinks one of the partitions is simply some more internal memory, and it just installs apps on there, thinking it is installing them on the phone.
Your space is only limited by the size of the ext partition you create on your SD card...

Thanks. But then what is data2ext ?

Where apps to sd just puts 2 folders on the ext partition, data2ext puts the entire data partition there

Well, i just got my htc tattoo and already did a root. As the device is slightly low on space, i wanted to use apps2sd to install (and move) apps to my 8 gb card. I also found an app "apps2sd pro" and wanten to install it, but it gave me the error "app not installed". I googled a bit and found out, apps2sd is for 2.x version (i have 1.6). Is there any way to use apps2sd on 1.6?
I rooted with ".universal androot" and did yet no reboot.

- Well, just read, to install apps2sd, you need to do a wipe/hard reset and format your sd-card, what's about this? i'm new to this! and as (surprisingly!!) no wiki entry exists for the Tattoo / clic, i'm yet a blt surprised by this community, which yet always helped me.....
there is some sense stock rom available with app2sd use them
just flash an custom rom with android 1.6.
i would recommend "MondoROM | Q v0.1"

How can i get apps2sd to work on charnsingh_online's CyanogenMod 7.0.0 for HTCLEO from 14/04/11?
I installed Darktremor 2.7.5.3 Beta 04 via CWM but with no luck, any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.
The beta's have never worked properly for me. Try one of the slightly older, stable releases. I use DT's a2sd and it works great for me.
Dont forget after flashing it, to do in terminal emulator:
su (enter)
a2sd reinstall (enter)

Still no luck. I've got a ext4 partition maybe that's why. Should I change to a ext3?
It was working fine on the nightly (14/02/11).

I dunno really. I have an ext4 as well, and it works for me. I wish I had some other option for you to get it working, but I'm pretty much stumped at this point. It may be possible that your rom's not compatible with a2sd, but that's just a guess. I suppose you could still go with apps2sd from the market, I guess it's better than nothing

problem solved. For some reason it doesn't recognise ext4 partition. I had to format it in ext3.
Thanks
How do you get Darktremor A2SD to work with this ROM? Also what is the purpose of the Virtuous.ROM folder that is installed on the SD Card during installation? Please go easy on me...I'm new
Why would you need DT's A2SD on a phone that has 1GB internal memory?
In any case, nothing special is needed.
