What's with making all these android phones with huge screens? The aria fits nicely in my pocket albeit the screen would be nicer at 3.5 or 3.7in. But, anything above 4in seems retardedly too big for a mobile device. Remember, this is something that people love to put in their pockets and hold up to their head when talking. I don't want a brick!

Lol @ mini rant.

I just bought an Aria.

Just thought you guys should know. I'm on T-Mobile and use a Vibrant but I'm really digging the Aria's build and form factor.
Any suggestions for...anything?
I just got mine this week and love it! You're probably more advanced than I am though, since I'm guessing you have Android experience prior to the Aria... I'm coming from a Moto RAZR 2!
Currently loving LauncherPro (Plus) and Extended Controls. Those are the only 2 apps I've paid for so far.
I'm using my aria on T-Mobile and works good. No 3g in my area so no big loss for myself.

I've had mine since June and I love it.....its my first cell, believe it. Big thanks to XDA and everyone that knows a ton more than I do about the aria. XDA ROCKS!

I've had mine for about a month now... I love this little phone! Much more than any iPhone or BlackBerry I've previously owned.
(I'm an admitted phone junkie.)
Think this is a nice post to share with other new aria users. I myself am a new aria user, its also my first android phone (on s sony eriscsson previously). Loving it so far but am very curious to know it inside out.
Any idea which features are androids n which are htc sense?
Thanks!
to the OP - I have a galaxy s right now and am thinking about moving into a Aria, how do you feel about moving from the vibrant to the Aria?
Well i'm a newbie to the aria and androis os myself, but u should definitely get the XDA app to easily access the forum and get this cool sig below!

Think It's a nice bit of kit too. Customer brought one in to have the digitizer replaced.. Just spent an hour and a half trying to get the new one to sit properly.. On really close inspection, the replacement (customer supplied) is almost 2mm broader..All,.
Not fishing for business, but just a heads up to anyone that's planning on a DIY digitizer repair.

nexus to mt4g

So no more annoying screen locking or screen resets with mt4g? And how many have made the switch and feel it's worth it?
I came from a Nexus and I'm happy. I haven't had any screen problems with this phone like I had with my Nexus One, the multi-touch actually works correctly and I'm kinda digging the mySense UI.
I love my n1, but this phones hardware is just better
I kinda miss the vanilla Android but that's about it. Oh yeah the colour trackball ... the pad is just dumb

I got rid of the garbage phone called the Inspire after like 5 days. The battery life blows big time and the speaker volume at max sounds like a stereo on volume level 3. The atrix runs much better IMO and is more future proof. It may not have all the ROMs and Kernels the Inspire does but oh well I'd rather not carry a charger around everywhere I go or miss phone calls and texts due to a horrendous speaker.
U are right so far thats what i dont like about the inspire. But hows the atrix? Is it hard to root and can i get custom rooms?

I have both phones and I do say that the Atrix does have a better speaker. When you root and put another ROM on the Inspire that sound quality and volume improves signifigantly.
Also by flashing another ROM on the Inspire the battery life improved as well. I also picked up a spare 1800mAh batter from www.obostore.com and my battery life is even better. Also throwing juicedender on your phone also improves a lot. You can totally customize your battery with just that app.
For me it was a tuff choice to make but I decided to keep both of them. I love HTC and the sense UI. It trully feels personalized with how much HTC software is put into the phone. The Atrix is more bland but what it lacks in sytle it makes up in power. The performance difference between the two phones is noticable in the Atrix favor. It's going to be interesting to see how the Atrix holds up against the LG Thrill with the dual core TI processor. I have my money on the graphics processor company instead of the the calculator manufacturer.
So what would you recomend

I leave it up to the end user. If you like the software that HTC provides then go with that. Also the 4.3" is really nice to have.
The Atrix has that raw power that practically no phones pocess to date. It's really a hard choice in my opinion. Both phones are going to be good choices. If price is a matter then deff go with the Inspire.
I dont care bout price i just want to have the top of the line phone but i hate apple and its isucks i mean iphone

I tried the Inspire on Thursday. The HTC sense was awesome, But the
speaker volume is low and tiny. Also noticed signal strength was not as
good as my iphone. I returned it yesterday. I'm thinking of going back to AT&T today to pickup an Atrix.
well i've had my atrix for a few weeks now and i would definitly recommend it over the inspire, it's not hard to root, and the ADEO rom is really nice, u can't really fully get the feel of a phone in the store(i found that out back when i had the HTC Touch Pro 2 which i regret buying), but the Atrix totally blows the inspire out of the water when it comes to performance and that's a major key when buying a phone, yea the outside of the phone is important to, but you wouldn't buy a Ferrari with the engine of a pinto lol, so definitly go with the Atrix
Thsnks a lot i think im go to att today and getthe atrix

All the so called issues u are referring to can be fixed by flashing a custom rom. I was torn between making a decision but I chose the inspire because the atrix clearly lacks dev support. I like modding and overclocking. The atrix looks like a beast but there are no true mods for it. Who wants gingerblur? Lol

But I would suggest watching videos and looking in forums because you may want the phone for diff reasons. I buy phones based on what it can do after root.

Had an inspire, tried like 4 roms, audio fixes, OCing, and cm7. Same story crappy to almost acceptable battery life, low volume, bogs even with a 1.8 oc because it's still a single core cpu, almost no internal media storage, and slower ddr ram.
The only things the inspire has over the atrix imo is bigger screen (which could go either way based on preference)and hsupa (which att is enabling 4g in april supposedly so thats valid for only another month). I'd mention roms as a plus but all the do is try to fix the crap already wrong with the phone.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Don't know if anyone has posted this or not, but the size is what made me go with the Atrix. The Inspire made me shift my hand to reach the unlock button, then shift again to reach the home or back button. The Atrix just fits.

Thanks for the reply. What I noticed is that the Samsung has less RAM.
Samsung phones suck. Big time. No way in hell would I trade my phone for that piece if crap.

i agree with the other posters...i had a samsung phone...never again...support sucks and will continue to suck
Actually, my girl has this phone, and has had no problems with it at all. while ive had to warranty out mine over four times now (mt4g), she hasnt even had a problem with it. if you are looking for something new, it wouldnt be a bad trade.
Agree with the rest..
The only products that Samsung makes that are decent are their dumbphones and the Galaxy Tab... Keep the MT4G and wait for the next gen on HTC phones...
My friend has a galaxy 4g, and we did a few tests:
Web browsing : glacier is faster
Camera: glacier is much faster, by that i mean the time from unlock to actually have a photo taken, i prob could have taken a pic and put my phone away before he takes a pic. but galaxy has builtin stitch but no flash.
Screen: i like the lcd better than led, the led has a blue tint to it unless you are looking straight on, the old galaxy had settings for tuning color, but cant find it in the 4g one.
Speaker : galaxy won for sure, glacier 's speaker is a joke.
Wifi module : galaxy can get on wifi within 5 seconds, my glacier takes at least 10, if not 15.
I am starting to like soft keys but rather have a track pad and deal with the clicking.
Mods: from what i have heard, galaxy doesn't have much of development.
TLR = no. Keep the myTouch 4G

Thank u all for ur help and advice. I will see what I deside. The one thing that holds me back is the RAM.

Not much... ram is important, the more the merrier. Cpu you can always overclock but with ram you are stuck with whatever built-in. Besides, htc vs samsuck is no comparison at all. Just my 2 pennies

I got the original vibrant and I'm waiting for my new mt4g to come in the mail tomorrow!! Overall the vibrant (original) is a great phone, it has 16 gigs of internal storage along with my 16 gig micro SD. But with the bad gps and the lack of updates and support from T-Mobile and Samsung. I got it from day one. I wouldnt still have it if it wasn't for the awesome devs on xda.

Sensation is horrible

Ive tested my dads sensation and it was very good the first few days. After about a week or so it lagged and became unresponsive. Whdn I ever I tried to flick the screen for tye corossal tye screen didnt move it all, it sometimes just moves a little and goes back. The lockscreen ring becomes unresponsive. When I pick it up it bounces back down. I know this a vibrant, but I just had to say it.

The phone is pretty good, but after a week it slows down and becomes unresponsive drastically. There are barely a few third party apps installed on it.

Ive just tried to use the phone app and after I type in a number it took a while for the screen to respond to it.
I ve had absolutely no problems with it at all.. I did learn to turn fastboot off because if you dont, when you power down your phone, its like its in hibernate instead of actually turning off. I think this is the majority of peoples problem with this phone.
I guess you should root and install custom ROM then use it for a week.

No problems with my Sensation. It is super fast. You may want to try turning off fast boot and rebooting the phone. I've had it since day 1 that has been available and has been super fast ever since. No lag whatsoever.

Correct. Turned off fastboot and the system started behaving the way it should. I've had mine since Friday and don't regret it one bit. I think this thread is not titled correctly. I love my Vibrant, but i'm liking the Sensation even more. The Sensation isn't a huge jump performance wise from the Vibrant, but it overall feels more powerful. It doesn't get bogged down, and browsing on it feels nice and solid. I'd buy it again.
Hows the size difference compared to the Vibrant? Meaning is it a huge difference in size or just minor. Haven't had a chance to lay with one and wonder if its too big.

Lol, the last thing you want to do is to compare any non-SAMOLED screen to a SAMOLED. I miss the vibrants screen (not pixel density), but by itself the sensation does have a nice screen. It's black aren't as black, and it's viewing angles are the best but it's still good.
I liked the sensation when I played with it. That sense3.0 or whatever looked pretty cool and I'm not really a sense kinda guy.
