My Outlook Exchange contacts aren t shown in my contacts. I did checked the box 'synchronise contacts' after setting up my Exchange account. My mail and calendar are synced fine.
I have the same issue. I have 1500 contacts and only around 500 are imported. I ended up installing a third party exchange tool and i am using that to sync my contacts in stead. Worked ok on tbe previous version however

It is touchdown version 2, it is not free but you can try it for 30days . I have turned off all notifications and set data to only download headers and no alerts.

How can I get my Hotmail calendar to sync with my shift? I use the Exchange ActiveSync account on my phone for my work email, but as a family we use Hotmail for our calendar. Any suggestions?
Not sure. If you search Microsofts site, it appears no direct syncing is supported. A workaround would be to link the calendar to your Google account so you can at least view it on your phone. Perhaps wait til WP7 hits Sprint?
Or move the family to Google. O_O

Tried exporting Hotmail calendar, but could not. Thus I could not import into Google calendar. Wife is not a fan of Google, so not so easy
I've never used exchange, but this says hotmail started using that and it will sync calendar/contacts/email... dunno if it is true, but worth a shot.

Switch the family to google, you will be happier in the end.

Yeah, almost all Android email problems can be fixed by switching to Gmail.

Does this help? http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Calendar/thread?tid=1237b8532c40be62&hl=en
Success, thanks Stuke00
For some reason the Gmail and Xoom email apps will not sync with all my Gmail contacts. Some contacts don't show. All are available through the Gmail website interface.
Any suggestions?

Are you sure you haven't got a filter active in the contacts app on your Xoom? By filter, I mean "View only contacts with email", "View only contacts with a phone number" etc.

Hi
I have 2 google accounts on my device one is with [email protected] and the other [email protected] first i use for purchases back
ups etc...and the second is just private I keep IT junk free.so when ever I go to the gmail app to check for emails its shows the hotmail.com account too....but i cant sync emails or anything from it so every time I need to switch back to the gmail.com account..Is there any way that i can delete that hotmail.com account from the gmail app, but not from the whole device because i use it for apps and stuff and I purchased lots of app with it.
THX
Any suggestions??
Can't you just untick the box for sync for that account? Also might check which is the default address.
I did that already it always goes to the gmail app right away...I did a factory reset put my primary google account([email protected]) and when i go to the gmail app its there, and i cant delete it because its not setup and i cant set it up in gmail because its hotmail adress.if i delete it from the accounts in settings then its gone in the gmail app.But I need that account for my paid apps back ups and other stuff.very annoying...but that started to happen yesterday before that i just had my gmail adress in the gmail app.It didnt automatically put my hotmail adress to the gmail app.
Did you try to make the gmail account the primary and the hotmail as the 2nd Google account and unchecked all sync?

use the Email app for your hotmail account and GMail for your gmail account
When you open Gmail, does the heading next to the gmail icon say Inbox and show one of the accounts or does it say All mail? I think All mail only shows the first or primary gmail account. Try changing the drop-down; it's a filter.
Here are some screenshots...I just want that the hotmail.com account doesnt show up in the gmail app like it used to be before,,,,but now when ever I add my hotmail.com account it always shows up in gmail.I just want to delete it from there but not from my device because I need it for other stuff.
I have 4 gmail accounts, what I do is that I forward all the incoming mails to my primary, so I only have 1 gmail account on my phone but I receive from 3. I'm pretty sure there's an option to do this from your hotmail account. Google a bit!

Thx, I Know that I can forward my email from hotmail to gmail thats no problem....but that hotmail.com account is my primary account I purchased lots of app with it and other stuff so I need it on my device....but I want to delete it from the gmail app thats all.I dont know if that is possible...
Try this setup.... use your Gmail as primary and you add your hotmail as your 2nd gmail account. Also, setup your hotmail in the email (see image) app too. set up inbox check frequency in setting to never since you don't care about that email. You can always open the email to update.

But I didnt like it so I just reset everything to default...did a factory reset on the device but after that the hotmail.com account always shows up in the gmail app

Many of our clients ask us to sync their outlook and contacts with their iPad or iphone that is linked to POP email account, but all the data is in Outlook. And its been a nightmare to deal with. Can't use latest iTunes, have to use older iTunes.
With android its so much easier, simpler and it works.
I'm not bashing Apple products, I think they are good in their own way, but could be a heck of alot better.
I keep telling clients to stop using outlook and just store all the contacts and calendars in your email accounts. Yet they want all 2 or 5 pop email accounts linked to Outlook. They tell me its just easier that way to access all emails.
One of our new clients uses 4 different email providers for her home business, and all of them linked to Outlook on her PC. All contacts and calendars are stored on her pc in outlook.
After two hours of banging my head against the wall, I honestly could not sync it with her iPad and crack berry. I did get 709 contacts in to crack berry from outlook, but then client tells that contacts that were added few days ago are not there. /face palm.
Another client is having issues with yahoo email on iPhone 5, because os6.1 is...broken. Keeps throwing errors at me.
Anyways... I needed to vent, its been a long week.
I have been wondering how this works. We are able to sync our contacts and calendars to gmail and import to outlook easily. How do you do that with an apple iPhone?

Well, using a google Accout even on android it won't sync contacts. It still uses your google account (non pop) to sync contacts. At least that's how it works if I delete my google account and only add back a gmail account as a pop email account.
At work we use contacts sync pro and calendar sync both of which I think have been discontinued by google.
We can add contacts in outlook and we sync it to gmail and it shows up in our phone contacts using a yahoo pop bizmail account. Its really nice and easy. I was wondering if this was even possible on apple without using an exchange.

Well, my work uses an exchange server for my iPhone email, so I have my outlook and iPhone sync'd using that. Then I use gSyncIT from Fieldston to sync my outlook to Google so then my Android tablet and personal PC's keep their contacts and calendars in sync.
My wife on the other hand does not have the ability to sync her iPhone to her exchange server, so her outlook is exchange and then uses gSyncIT to sync her outlook to Google. Then added the Google Exchange server on her iPad an iPhone to keep it all in sync.
I use the Mail app as I don't like the layout of the Gmail app.
I have my mail accounts set so that my Google mail account should send emails as my main ntlworld(virgin) account.
Until recently this all worked fine, but now all my emails are been delivered from my Google mail account. I have not changed any settings so it must either be a change to the gmail servers or the mail app.
Strangely using the gmail app the spoofing still works.
Anyone experienced this or know how to get things working again.
