Everyone wants to be that guy that makes the announcement and gets over9000 replies on his thread
What I want to know (not to be a spelling nazi) is how op managed to misspell "gingerbread" both times?
I predict at least a few more "zomg gingerbread is here [email protected]!!11!1!!" threads before it actually gets released.

Pretty sad that we finally got Froyo (albeit unofficial) the same week that iPhone did.

Yep, i did. Kinda interesting that iPhone got froyo before we did.
Thought there'd be a few opinions on it. If not, no big deal, that's the way forums work. You post, if people want to talk about it, they do, if not it goes away (or people who dont want to talk about it can be a smartass and keep it at the top). Not like i posted in the dev section.
wowwww iphone has froyo and my epic 4g still doesn't officially have it. (havnt made the jump into rooting yet)

I was pretty ambivalent about froyo until I learned that it was on freakin' iphones already.

it seems to me that every one is getting the update ,,,but sprint, i think they are holding back, the 2.2 update for a new pad that is coming out,
i am running the leaked 2.2.1, it works good , just a little laggy, on the home screen,
i installed this on epic 4 g
the down load speed is just a little better
the battery life is a lot better
every thing seems to work
it is very sable
i would say it is a good flash
IF someone has a nexus with this on it, I would love to port it to the evo!!!!!
Gingerbread hasn't been relased yet, some idiot jumped the gun and said the new update was Gingerbread and it turned out to be a security update instead

Lol u don't update unless you want to lose root. Once released it will be incorporated into Rom so u will have to wait for Rom to be updated with latest build.

It's totally Android's winver, and just as ubiquitous when it comes to blurry-cam shots of prototype phones and new Nexus builds. XD

Awesome man! Just to get this straight, will this be not be able to be run on the Epic until 2.2/2.3 is released by Samsung? I'm confused on that if so, because the EVO has CM7 and 2.3 hasn't been released yet for the EVO.
Let's face it once google announced the ics as the next version of android why do some people still want gb when ics can be leaked and used on our phones. Google needs to be the one doing the updates not the carriers and phone makers. Google should open a beta and prebeta builds to all who want them.

For someone who's been around since the 70's you seem to not understand the development life cycle of a product to be expecting such an asinine thing to happen.
Using win7 (retail) to win8 (alpha) argument proves your failure to grasp that.
BTW, i love how decad3nce pwned your last post. LOL

Because to us Gingerbread is the most important release ever! Gingerbread was made with Hummingbird in mind..ICS is a huge improvement for dual core phones..while we definitely get some new features, you would not notice such huge performance increases as you do with Gingerbread.
Locked. OP, check your pm's.
I found this today: http://www.goodandevo.net/2011/12/h...0c#comment-6a00d83451c9ec69e2015438b1fba5970c
It's Honeycomb for Evo View 4g (my bad). I'm betting devs here will 'fix' the issues below before Sprint/HTC does... Or maybe they can use some of its code to get Sense running on ICS??
The provisos:
Your homescreen will be reset to the default HTC settings after applying this update.
Illuminated hardware keys will be disabled since Honeycomb already includes corresponding on-screen buttons.
If you are rooted, proceed with caution: you should only apply this update if your system/app folder is completely returned to stock and you have flashed your stock recovery image (not TWRP or ClockworkMod); otherwise, you will encounter errors.
Additionally, you will lose root after applying this update. The safest way to update and keep root is to wait for a developer to figure out a way to apply this update without losing root.
Its for the view. The tablet. Not the evo
