whats wrong with that , they didnt give us/or devs drivers , witch is one of the reasons ur phone doesnt have the potential it could have , htc are mean money lovers

No HTC means, no XDA .

I think since last december it's officialy known, that SE ended contract with HTC due to lack of.. at HTC.. Well don't wanna blame HTC here, but they fu*ked up something with X1

Totally agreed.

The next Xperia even if it dont has a good design is a hardware upgrade of x1 with a lot of nice stuff like tv out, bigger screen accelleration sensor and so on.
It looks like also that it will have the same cpu like the x1 and that mean that we can run every XPERIA X1 ROM also on the next XPERIA Phone. For sure it would be also cheaper and would have a better quallity as we know it from se.
I dont know exactly why people say such bad things about the next xperia.
It looks like they dont understand some things.
If i had to buy a new phone the new Xperia and not the old Xperia would be one of my first choices.

xperia x10 final doubt

today i'm going to buy my new phone because i've sold yesterday my samsung i8910. i was going on the htc desire but i've see that xperia is already rootable. thanks to that. can you tell me if now, with the root, we will have2.1 sooner than we expect and custom roms? the hardware of the xperia is better than the desire but i was going on the desire because of the faster and more actual os. thanks

The X10 is NOT rooted yet people working on it but it is difficult.

so what's your opinion, should i go for the xperia and wait for the root or should i buy the desire?

its risky. the X10 might never get rooted. however.
X10 rooted = million times better than desire/nexus
X10 not rooted = POS you should avoid. unless the phone design is the only thing matters to you

I have my hopes up for the froyo petition, especially answer to that. Ofc nothing confirming but atleast it was'nt a defenitive no.. still, if you want an up to date phone X10 is not your choice as of right now. Sad thing couse its one damn fine device and im pleased with it, but ofc i'd like to see some updates soon

serious hardware that is crippled by an outdated OS. if it would get 2.1 or if the OS gets a fix for the laggy interface, i would say it's a good buy.
you should wait and see what's up.
because if this phone is rooted, it's a different ball game.

You must have hope in people

think you should give yourself a timeline
if paul is not able to root and SE is not giving a better announcement before your timeline
then you give up x10
for us user with a X10 already we can only pray=..=

lol SE have alot to answer for what a let down. Mind you I think if SE announced another fantastic android handset to be launched, with better specs then x10, i fear most people would probably fall for that aswell.

people need to stop moaning . x10 does everything it needs to do and does it great. the only lag is when using timescape (and se promise to fix this in the next update as they managed to make it not lag on the x10 mini and mini pro). i dont use timescape anyway
with the htc ime keyboard my x10 is great. i will only start feeling let down when everyone else is getting 2.2 and working flash. at the moment though im having no problems at all with SEs version of 1.6
also got to consider that x10 is about £100 cheaper than a desire/nexus one

you really not experience any lag at all in lock screen?
and for why x10 mini is not lagging there's a thread already told us it's the different of resolution make x10 mini smoother than x10 and I'm convinced.
and man if you can get a x10 cheaper than a nexus one for £100 get me 1 please i'll more than happy to have one

Well i have one in my family(My brother)..
Its not so different than X10(apart from screen,camera and Android version).. I would strongly suggest to stick with your X10 and wait for next generation devices to hit the market.. You will have more to play with once 2.1 rolls out for X10 or we have some good news in Dev. thread..

If you are the type who ***** and moan about Android version in the X10 then do yourself and us a favour, take the NexusOne and never comeback here, but if you're not bothered about its Android version and appreciate what it has to offer and has over the others then stick to your X10

If it's a straight trade without paying extra $$.. then go for it.
I believe you can resell it (if you don't like it) for a better value compare with X10 (at least in our market).

If I were offered the deal, I'd take it...I'm looking for a similar trade, but haven't found any yet unfortunately...

I think you should just wait for the update to come! Maybe your thoughts will change if you get 2.0 Ik hope my X10 will feel brand new after the update!

im trading with a typical end user, takes care of his phone, makes phone calls, loves taking photografs so he rly doesnt care about things heavy users need, coming to think of it its rly easy to trade ur phone

If you want the design and the slick UI and don't mind waiting for updates then keep the X10.
If you want to have 2.2 as soon as possible for the speed improvements and flash 10 then go for the Nexus.

Simply go for Nexus One.............

Remember, its harder to type with Nexus One than with X10 because of smaller screen

Just stick to X10, Nexus One looks boring and ugly...

I traded away my nexus one after it got froyo for a X10.....I haven't looked back! X10 is better imo.

Having come from the N1 to the X10 I can tell U IMO the N1 is nothing special & as a phone was actually worse, outgoing sound quality according to friends was terrible. Maybe they fixed some issues with the recent 2.21 update but I think U will be disappointed with the N1.

Both the same imo. You will lose bigger screen for multitouch and that's it.

X10 sounds terrible to me too. so let's consider this even.

nexus one is the google developement phone so you are guranteed the newest updates (always the 1st phone to obtain updates) and it has MT
another factor is that im a big fan of physical buttons on the x10 vs the ones on the nexus one

You have to ask your self why you bought your X10 and then you can decide and consider every thing.

I've just picked up a Samsung Galaxy S II so my beloved X10 is going to be my backup phone.
Just want to thank all the devs and others that have helped in making using it such a great experience.

Damn at least a month before it is released here. I will be joining you soon Yeah it is definitely a great choice.

Got a message today that a phone recycling company has agreed to pay me the full working price for my mobo afflicted X10. So I only lost £2 on the deal. My 26 days with the X10 showed me A) What a good phone the X10 could be with the right ROM (tried 2 Froyos and 1 Éclair all very good) and B) How crap SE are – I had both stock 2.1 and 1.6 on the X10 and both were sh*te, never mind the bloody hardware fault. I can confidently say that will (and have) continue to opt for Android it wont be a SE handset.
OP – Had a play with a SG SII last night, very nice and what a screen. I am jealous as my replacement for the X10 is a ZTE Blade lol. Still at least the blade can function in warm weather unlike that bloody X10.
So goodbye for now XDA, I will return with something different to the Blade in October when I upgrade.

Besides i get 2.5k at Quadrant with a Overclock @ 1.2ghz ^

So..this the end for me with the x10..it has been a great adventure...the x10 is really a cool phone..but lately i felt im too outdated with the hardware ..and im also experienced a lot of slowness and lag...
Than..i found this phone and i was like "dammmmmmmn"....i was so amazed with the performance and the smoothness...and the pocket sized...it was the MOTOROLA DEFY....i liked this phone a lot..and i felt in love with it...plus it is a water resistant...and i decided to switch my x10 with it....so...i did....and i have the defy for a week now...i can't tell you guys how much im happy with it....than i realized that i was in the stone age with x10.....
in the end...i want to thank all the devs around here especially Z for his great work....and thanks to all who help me out....i really had great days here in this lovely family ......

I think the Defy has a slower processor than the X10!
I admit it's cool to have a phone that's water resistance, but i don't think it's better than the X10 in any way.

i know about the processor.....but what you don't know is that it can be overclocked to 1400 Mhz with just an application in the market...than you will see an over 1600 in qudrant ...
plus.....16 mil color.....10 fingers multitouch.......gorilla glass surface.....512 ram......2 gb rom......FM radio......camera with auto flash......2.6.32.9 kernel......great sound quality......over 64 fps cap..............
.
so....you better think that it is the defy is way better than the x10.......

i used the two of the devices....and i see the scrolling on the defy is better than the x10....
and maybe you saw the 2.1 of the defy.....
plus...everyone has a point a view.......

it has a much better gpu than the x10 that's for sure. .
I'd say it will be a much better phone.

I got an Atrix and I keep coming back. Lol. Well enjoy your new phone. Learning about multiple phones and learning to hack each one is kind of fun. Then going back and forth can be fun too. More phones=more xda fun. Nice seeing ya around.
