600,000 Galaxy Tab sold so far. - Galaxy Tab General

http://www.koreaherald.com/national/Detail.jsp?newsMLId=20101121000281
600,000 sold worldwide so far. Like I said, they are on track for that 1 million by the end of this year.

so many this is the ipad killer

You have to remember how many carriers this thing is on. I would expect this number to be high.
Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk

^ That is true. But this is for the 3G version only. The Wifi version hasnt even been launched yet. According to analysts, there are more Wifi only iPads sold than the 3G versions. So these numbers are bound to skyrocket once the Wifi only version of the Galaxy Tab launches early next year.

To put that number in perspective, when Google announced they were shutting down the Nexus One sales and there were no more being produced last summer, sales were around the 600,000 mark.

Add one more to that stat. I picked mine up this afternoon and I'm loving it so far. Makes my Captivate feel quite small.

I dunno about the model number, that's what xda is putting in my sig. I got it at a FutureShop in Nova Scotia, Canada.

That's the Rogers unit. If he looks on the back, he'll also see the FCC ID, which should say SGH-I987, same as the Bell GT-P1000M and the AT&T Tab.

^ Really?
If that is the case, then he should go to this thread. The guy is looking for someone who has a Rogers tab who can dump the radio image file.

He should, yes, just to add to our filebase, but it's really not needed for what the OP in that thread wanted, which was a working modem with both Voice and HSUPA enabled. He found it elsewhere.

3G model can be bought in Taiwan! A video

Hi there:
This is a youtube video, in Spanish. The man, form Spain, is saying that he has bought the 3G model in Taiwan. And he shows it!!!
He planned to buy the Transforner and he found the 3G model in a store!
He was told that only about 5000 units has been manufactured and that it is very hard to get in Taiwan. He thinks that Asus is checking whether the market is interested in this model.
He cannot try the 3G, because he only has a Spanish sim...
enjoy the video...
Thats pretty cool.
Who else just looked on the side of their TF ?
well, I live in Taiwan and I checked out a few papes! It's listed, but out of stock.Like always.

I´m also from Italy and received my TF101G two days ago (tested 3G and HSDPA - working). I´ve also the TF101 model and here are the difference I noticed between the two:
- the speakers (L/R) on the TF101G are balanced (on the TF101 the right one was louder)
- the cover of the TF101G is on top left a metallic colored (7cm). I think that´s the spot of the antenna
- on TF101 I have Android 3.2, on TF101G 3.1 (seems to be no update availabe)
TF101G:
- Baseband version: 11.810.09.12.00
- Kernel version: 2.6.36.3-00005-g6a2e0ab , [email protected] #1
- Build number: HMj37.WW_epad-8.4.5.15-20110707
Are there any news for an upcoming version that supports the telephone module?

Unbrand New I9300 purchased in China

Hello everyone,
I just got a new Galaxy S3 from China today, but it came with many preloaded chinese apps. It is not really branded, only preloaded with several things. I tried restoring phone from configurations, but the applications didn't dissapear.
I would like to flash a clean international versin with no added chinese things. Could you please point me to the right direction?
This is my first Android phone, but I had a Tablet before which I flashed a couple times, so I'm not a complete noob.
Thanks a lot in advance!!!
Cheers,
C.S.
You might go to I9300 International for better specific help over there :good:
Your probably the only one on this forum with one so I don't think anyone knows if any ROMs are compatible with it.. But the root method may still be the same so you can try rooting it and than installing Root explorer (paid) or ES File Explorer (free) to remove them from system/app or just get Titanium Backup (paid) after rooting and remove them that way (best option IMO)
So just head over to the international forums and read their easiest root method.
Best of luck, be careful, those things aren't covered under any warranty if you brick it huh :what:

Hmm pretty much the only info about its build you could compare to others would be under Settings > About device, screenshot that and post it up over on the international forums and ask them if it resembles theirs in any way. Personally I'm pretty positive the ROMs won't be directly compatible and definitely wouldn't flash any of them, but if I personally can't use an Android phone without root so I'd personally try the root method and pray to god my phone booted afterward lol
Tough situation man, curious as to how it goes for you so post back if you try !

I would personally try to flash a standard i9300 ROM onto it. Then you wouldn't have to worry about any sketchy apps that have been added.
There's no guarantee it will work, but if it really is a legit i9300 (which it seems to be), I would imagine the standard international ROM would work on it.

I think you might be in the wrong forum here. It appears that your phone has dual-core 1.5Ghz processor (but Samsung doesn't say which one), and that's something your phone shares with SGN I717. If I'm right here there's not a single Rom or kernel here that you can flash without running into pretty serious problems.
Anyone got the root?
I also got the N7005 from Hong Kong. Anyone knows how to get the phone rooted or install CWM?

I think one of these people needs to:
Install Android System Info
Tap the System tab
Expand the CPU row
Tell us what the "Hardware:" field says
For example, N7000 units report "Hardware: SMDK4210"
Well... surprise.. the Hardware: GT-N7005...

That's odd, on every other device that field reports a general board type and not specific model number - for example SMDK4210 for I9100/I777/N7000 (and probably the Tab 7 Plus and 7.7), and SMDK4X12 for I9300/N80xx/I9305/Note2 variants.
There...

Verizon Xoom Jelly Bean Soak Test

Invites went out today. Finally, we're getting an official Jelly Bean update 10 months after WiFi. If anyone is participating in the soak test, could you pull the OTA URL? I wonder if this will be JZO54K like WiFi or if it'll be a newer build of 4.1.2. I guess we'll see!
Thanks!
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk HD
This is excellent news of course, despite being ridiculously late arriving.
I have been running the leaked Motorola 4.1.1 JRO03H build since it dropped last June so I certainly hope its a newer build than that one.
It's actually quite stable despite some annoyances like limiting write access to the sdcard and keyboard misbehavior persisting.
The radios perform very well in this build so it will be interesting to see what changes, if any, appear assuming a new baseband is included.
How do you capture the URL?
I think it's a shame google stopped supporting the xoom. A google experience device and for a long time, the baby of android, always getting the OS updates first. Now it's just the red headed stepchild to the nexus 7 and 10. I would love to see google give us official 4.3 but that probably won't happen. If they did though, it would be really good PR and xoomers would rejoice.

When you get the OTA notification, but before applying the update, run adb logcat and output it to a text file. It'll be in there. The URL will be something like this: http://android.clients.google.com/p...signed-trygon-JZO54K-from-IMM76L.abcdef12.zip

There's no discussion. It'll be newer. It'll either be JZO54K like Wi-Fi or a newer build of 4.1.2 that we haven't seen yet (unlikely). I'm sure there will at least be a new CDMA baseband if not a new LTE baseband as well. I say this because the original leaker of that 4.1.1/JRO03H build had a newer CDMA baseband in his screenshot that no one had ever seen before (03.1A.66SP), but his LTE baseband was the same as the IMM76L ICS build.
Speaking of that leaked 4.1.1/JRO03H build, it looks like it was just the Wi-Fi build with the LTE drivers dropped in for testing.
The leaker claimed that Verizon had signed off on it but I don't buy it for two reasons. First, it was never released. Second, that build has a major DRM bug. Google Play Movies won't stream content when using that build because either the DRM keys are hosed or the build itself has something turned on that makes the app think the ROM is rooted.
As for how he got it, he said his own Xoom had the build installed by Motorola development. That much I do believe due to the fact that he had a CDMA baseband that no one else had ever seen.

Nope, your bootloader can remain unlocked. As long as you're running the stock ICS 4.0.4/IMM76L firmware, you'll get the update when they finally do roll the soak test out. Do you know how to pull an update URL, or do you need me to provide you some quick steps?

Just installed it. But I can not see an FM app being installed so I don't know how to take advantage of that feature which is now supposedly available to me. (T-mobile) Only FM apps that I can see on play store are for motorola phones.

Yes, the NextRadio app works and FM chip works.
I work in suburb, so not many stations could be picked up, but I could listen to couple of stations. (With T-mobile's music freedom, the use will be quite limited, BUT if I go to a place where T-mobile signal is weak and there are FM stations, why not...)
I updated also, seems there is no visible difference. Haven't really tried the fm. On another note i was hoping my music stored on device in playlist from itunes (used iSync) would fix the issue i have where sometimes songs skip to a random song in the playlist even when random is not selected. Other times i'll play a song and 3 secs. in it skips to another track. Quite annoying...
Verizon of course has not even received the April update yet, as usual last.

My friend's Sprint device updated today and got April update.
So, from big 4, T-mobile appear to be the one who appear to be on the ball with keeping up with the update.
That said, I did read that AT&T version of S7 does have FM chip enabled anyways.
Uk vodafone here, i had the a update early this morning but haven't noticed any difference
Is auto brightness problem fixed?

I know, I have been waiting for the latest update because my phone has frozen a couple times lately and battery life seems to be worse. I did try clearing cache and disabling apps, but this doesn't help too much. So I was going to factory reset but wanted to wait for the update and then do it. At this point it may not be worth waiting.
Hey,
Any news about FM Radio? Does it work?

This is ONLY for the US T-Mobile S7(Edge), NOT possible for the European (F) S7(Edge)!
