Hey,
I have the ROM dump of my HD Mini, wich is WM build 23103. But I was wondering if that should work on a Touch Pro/Fuze too. The Touch Pro/Fuze has another screen resolution. Is that a huge problem?
MadMatt
No you cant do this.
Screen resolution is an huge problem thats why there are differents res for any builds.
Perhaps you can try but i doubt that you will pass the second boot screen.

Okay, and can I use the Language Pack from build 23103 (of my HD mini) for build 23146? And will the 23146 build run if I copy the OEMDrivers folder only? Or should I copy other folders as well?
Btw, I'm using osKitchen 1.33
I gave a try with 23146 and Language pack from 21913 and rom worked fine so i guess you can go with 23103 LP.
You need also MSXIPKernel in addiction to OEM Drivers , your rom will boot but you will lack a lot of features like Phone,Wi-FI,Services.If you want a lite but functionally build try to exclude Youtube,Facebook,IME,Opera,Radio and so on,then you can try to leave one by one the other packs that you think useless and see if the rom works fine.

So, if I understood this good, my ROM won't do much more than booting if I copy the OEMDrivers and MSXIPKernel from old build to new build? And how can I get everything back to work? :s
Sorry, newbie in ROM cooking...
I'm afraid that i dont understand what you wnat to do .
Now you have 23103 build for HD Mini in OsKitchen right?
And you want to do a rom with 23146 build in you Language (German) right?
If it is correct then import build 23146 with OsKitchen and after that go into you windows mobile folder and grab your language folder from 23103 and copy to 23146 folder.
Restart OsKitchen ,select the new builds with German language, select all the EXT package that you had before and start cooking.
Why did you ask about cooking with only OEM Drivers folder if you want a fully functional rom ( like the original i suppose)?
I think you've not understood me good. Okay, I'll clarify myself
I have a HD Mini ROM with build 23103. I want to make a Touch Pro ROM with the build of the HD Mini. Will the thing be okay when I just change the build number in OsKitchen? (because the Windows Mobile builds are all together in the three structure of osK).
PS: It's Dutch, no German
Nope, if you use the Original HD Mini 23103 build you will need the native resolution for Touch Pro (480x640).
My suggestion is:
Dump an original TouchPro rom.
Import 23146 build from OsKitchen (im not sure if you will find any 23103 build )
Change the language folder.
You cant use many of the EXT packages from HD Mini because the low resolution against the TouchPro.

Okay, but when I download a new build such as 23146, and I want to import it in osKitchen, the kitchen always says "no valid ROM dump in folder"... And indeed, when I look in the folders, the MSXIPKernel contains a lot of folders, but all those folders are empty... And the MSXIPKernelLTK is empty as well. The folder COMMON contains much folders wich aren't empty. But in my dumped stock ROM of Touch Pro, there are a lot of S000 files and S001 and so on. But the download does not have these files... And what should I do to get the newer build over there?
Download the new build.
Extract it.
Run oskitchen and choose import new build and follow what i made in the attached pic, thats always work for me.

Thats strange, did you try with other builds?
Post here the link where you downloaded that build so i can try.
I suggest you to post this error in OsKitchen thread otherwise.

Haha, I disabled "Auto detect build number" and it worked Stays strange, but okay for now I'm now building. I hope I won't brick my device, as it's not mine ;D Can I brick it by upgrading 6.1 to 6.5?
Glad that you sorted it.
Nope you cant brick it while upgrading from 6.1 to 6.5 just remember to recmode some modules (oskitchen tell you which one when you dump for the 1st time a new build) otherwise check in TouchPro forum if there is a 6.5 Kernel ready, this should be better for performance.

I guess they are not compatible with OSKitchen, I tried one of them using Import Sys option, and it said that it is not a valid dump to parse.
Any idea ?

.dio file needs to be dumped with Xidump tool search there on the Da_G thread there are so many tools to dump .dio files

i think the OS kitchen import build feature is designed for the "rollup" builds...all pkgs inside a single folder. the ones you tried are divided into language, dpi, ect for ervius visual kitchen. all you have to do is open each of those folders and copy/paste all of them into one single folder, then run the import on OS kitchen i think it should work.

Well I have downloaded both, since I am new to this stuff.. want to check out both. And will ultimately adapt to the one which I am more comfortable with (i.e. get more help on )
Now I have downloaded these three files

21898_XIP.BIN_MSXIPKernel_SYS_QVGA_WQVGA_VGA_WVGA_0409_041D_0414.7z

from Da_G's thread
Now here is what I did:
1. Unzipped all the files in a single folder named 21898 , it had two folders SYS and XIP.
2. Copied the SYS folder under EVK and renamed it to 21898.
3. Copied the content of the XIP folder to "C:\Ervius\Tools\xip.bin_new"
Now the problem is when I am trying to cook a ROM with this (Oh that kitchen is based on WM 6.5 Stock ROM (WWE ASIA) for Mega, it stops saying that I am using 6.1 NK.exe with 6.5 XIP and since the number of modules are too many, it will make an unbootable ROM. But I guess WM 6.5 have 6.5 nk.exe?
Where did I do wrong?
EDIT:
Even after deleting the existing kitchen and re dumping the stock wwe asia ROM, it is still saying that nk.exe is of 6.1!

1.- Unzipped all files and put them togheter is just for oskitchen import sys feature... if you want it in EVK style you must to use the packer.jar... is floating arround is friendly to use and easy.
you dont need to modify nothing in Tools folder... dont touch it
From the pkgs you extract you just need to msxipkernel folder... that must be in C:\Ervius\ROM\shared\21898\

I simply dumped the Stock ROM and recooked it, no changes nothing. BTW I did got the nbhutil.xml with mega settings though...
Is there any other setting that needs to be changed So that EVK recognizes the nk as a native 6.5???
P.S. clicking on the Native check box does have no effect

I am going to give chef'in a try and as I have never done it before I would ask you to be patient with me.
I have the HTC Leo with Radio 2.10.50 and HSPL installed.
Im using oskitchen and so far I have updated a Stock rom to 6.5.5. Nothing difficult there I hear you say ! But hey, its my first working ROM.
Now I have 2 questions that I hope you can help me with.
Q1. When I flashed the ROM to my phone all worked as you would expect apart from the main screen looked like it had dropped down about 10 pixels. Top and bottom bars looked OK but the middle looked wrong (Screen coming if needed)
Q2. Can someone instruct me on how to set the default wallpaper from oskitchen ?
I have an image called HTC_BG.png and I would like to cook it into the ROM as the default wallpaper.
Ive looked on the forums for help with these questions but I am unable to find them.
Any help / links would be helpfull
Once I have this info, I will proceed to cook my ROM and eventually post the results on the forums along with a complete tutorial as I go along, for those who are looking for similar info.

From what I know dumping and rebuilding a Leo ROM works correctly on both oskitchen 1.30v3 and 1.31beta3 so you probably changed something that broke that stuff. Always try if a clean dumped ROM rebuilds fine before doing changes that may break it.
Okay... I think im not so Stupid to do this.
I go this way:
1. I Install (extract) OS Kitchen on a folder into my Harddrive (C:/OS)
2. Then i Load the original Rom, extract this to get the RUU_Signed_0407.nbh
3.I Start OSKitchen and klick on Import-> Import a new ROM file.
4. I Select my Model, HTC Leo (HD2) and type the pfad of the RUU_Signed_0407.nbh and go to next (Waiting a minute)
5. I klick on start bulding, and os kitchen go throte without errors..
I Flash the Rom...
And the Taps didn't work. I Have a Windows XP OS and the OS Kitchen Version is 1.31.alpha4

Update to 1.31beta3 because anything before the beta1 had issues with HD2
like Shaddex I am looking into creating ROM's from scratch (for HD2 Leo also!), first for personally use and maybe for general if I can get a ROM to look nice.
My question is, is there a kitchen which work's best for the HD2? Or are all basically generic and just "cook" in different ways?
Sorry to hijack your post Shaddex I hope you get an answer soon, wish I could help

Ok. I extracted Oskitch again, added "RUU_Leo_HKCSL_WWE_1.72.831.1_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship"
as the base ROM.
Next installed the "24619_MSXIPKernel_SYS_QVGA_WQVGA_HVGA_VGA_WVGA_0409" so I can use the latest build.
Thats all I did.
No extra EXT packages, Just cooked the ROM and below is what I get.

The 6.5.3 windows mobile builds have the top and bottom bar of different sizes while Manila is probably calibrated for the WM6.5 bars (indeed there's empty space at the top and overlap at the bottom). There is probably something else you have to do to fix manila after changing the windows mobile build but I'm pretty sure it's not a kitchen problem I've had several people reporting the Leo ROMs dump and build fine with the 1.31 betas.
Is anyone willing to assist me on getting a Stock HD2 rom and upgrading it to 6.5.x without the problems I am seeing ?

Could you post a screenshot of your problem, and if you upload your background, i will use it to replace the one in HTC Black.TSK (You need OCP CE CAB Manager)
I have posted a screenie of the problem and someone says its because manila is not the correct version for the 6.5.5 im using.
Dont suppose you have a 6.5.5 stock rom ???
So...
Can anyone let me have a oskitchen with 6.5.x + latest manila so I can add to it.
Hi,
I am currently using oskitchen to build a 6.5.5 os with sense. I have windows 6.5.5 and used HTC HD2 stock rom 1.66 and compiled successfully. When I flashed it on my HD2 phone the sense screen was not alligned properly, it had moved about 10 pixles down the screen. I assume this is because it is an older version and not calibrated for 6.5.5.
I have tried searching for an updated sense that I can use with 6.5.5 and oskitchen but haven't found anything that works with oskitchen.
If anyboy could post a link that would be useful.
Thanks
Stephen
Mod edit: Yes dumping a newer base rom will be the best you can do for your leo at this point in newer builds your ois old thread solved as tidus gives you a link
make sure you get a proper package. Sense should work fine in 6.5.5. There are stickies thread by +Que PPC which compiles everything jr.Chefs to get staretd. The position offset for dialer (phone canvas) - look for phonecanvas fix. You can either dump LEO S 3.04 ROM for latest ext manila package or get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6969492&postcount=43
Looks great. I will try later and let you know how I get on, thanks for your help!

I just did a search, it is located in my Sys>23128>Shared>COMMON folder
I have added many files that I had previously removed to save space, and now I am getting this error when trying to create the build
"692 Modules present; Too many modules.... with 6.1 NK.exe and 6.5 XIP you' ll have non-bootable ROM.... Exiting..."
EDIT: I am now trying to recreate it in osKitchen Zero, and I see that I have SYS Build 21887, but i also have the 23128 file, could this be what is causing issues?
I have one zip file that has 23128 ZIP and SYS folders, and one that has 23128 Shared, MSXIPKernel and 0409... Do i just replace these over the 21887 files?
You need to check that box it says real wm6.5 kernel I think. Its been so long since I used EVK, I forgot what it says exactly.

Greetings!
First off, I have little idea what I'm doing, this is my first attempt to create a custom ROM. I've searched around and can't seem to find a solution.
I've got an Xperia X1 and am using osKitchen.
The ultimate goal is to have a Japanese ROM with WM build 25369 with no additional UIs, i never use sense or whatever anyway, just the old today screen with cal, messaging, and time/date items.
I have:
Latest stock ROM for X1 (GENERIC_NAM_R3AA011)
23569_MSXIPKernel_SYS_QVGA_WQVGA_VGA_WVGA_0409 (Just Eng)
initflashfiles-dat-all-langs-updated-feb-24-2010.zip
RUU_Diamond_eMobile_JPN_1.81.881.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.48.25.26_1.09.25.07_Ship.exe (6.1 JPN ROM)
Kovsky-xip-bin-oemxipkernel-nk-exe-native-WM65.zip
WM6550-23563-Rollup-All-Pkgs.rar (This has all languages)
Here's what I'm doing, anyone of them (or all) could be very wrong, hopefully I've done at least one thing right:
Imported X1 ROM for OEMDrivers, OEMApps, OEMOperators, oemversion, oem_dpi
Imported 6.1 JPN ROM for OEM Lang 411
-What i did here is i copied everything over from the JPN rom's oem 411 folder into the X1 OEM Lang folder, overwrote any conflicts, deleted any 0409 muis, and copied over the file from initflashfiles zip for 0411.
Replaced OEMXipKernel with the one from Kovsky-xip-bin-oemxipkernel-nk-exe-native-WM65.zip and selected custom XIP when making the rom with the one also found in that zip. Put the rest of the files (os.nb.payload, xip.bin, uldr.nb0, romhdr.bin) into the ROM Parts folder.
Then, I Used OS, OSFiles, MSXIPKernel, MSXIPKernelLTK from the 23569_MSXIPKernel_SYS_QVGA_WQVGA_VGA_WVGA_0409 zip, and the rest of the packages i used from the WM6550-23563-Rollup-All-Pkgs rar (because it had 0411 files).
I deleted dpi and lang folders that my device doesn't use (it uses 192dpi 480x800 and 0411) and built the ROM, flashed, and it shows the Sony Ericsson splash screen, and then goes black forever.
I know I must be doing something very wrong, any hints as to what?
Thanks
Pfff, what a big list,
Okay I did it this way, and I make my rom in 12 languages and they are all working.
1. Install oskitchen and import xperia rom
2. After finishing import 23563 build
3. Install another oskitchen and import diamond jpn rom
4. Copy the oem_lang 0411 and the ext packages to your kovsky kitchen be aware you put them in the right place.
5. Open the kovsky kitchen and select the Japanese language and select the packages you wanna use in your rom and you're done.
Regards,
Cool thanks!
That would be for 23563 though right? What if i wanted to use 23569 with 23563 packages? ....No real reason, higher number, figure it's better somehow....that even possible?

Just start with 23563, it's a good package and if you have a working rom you can alway's make the change.

If you extract the 23569 build, you only have to change the All and Common folder, but in your first post you where talking about a 25369 build and I didn't know what kind off build that was.
Succes buddy,
Make sure you have the proper wince.nls in your build. If you leave it out, the rom won't boot.

I used the one that came with the Kovsky-xip-bin-oemxipkernel-nk-exe-native-WM65 zip.

I don't think there is any difference between those 2 wince.nls but if you wanna be sure just use the one in the 23563/COMMON folder.

Hmm, I've got a wince.nls in:
Sources\Devices\HTC Kovsky\Profiles\default\OEMXipKernel
Sources\Windows Mobile Builds\23569\0411\WinCENLS_Lang_0411
and
Sources\Windows Mobile Builds\23569\Common\WinCENLS_WWE
they are all different sizes....should they all be the same? or only have one? or?
