I am sorry if this is covered it other topics but after trying many different recovery images i guess im just over the issue
Story so far:
Baseband was GAUSB1A111100-EU
stock 1.6 streak
stupidly, i followed streaksmart.com/2010/11/how-to-get-official-android-22-update-on-dell-streak.html#more
This is where the fun began
tryed android.modaco.com/content/dell-streak-streak-modaco-com/314313/how-to-get-your-streak-back-to-factory-condition/#entry1355296
Using the following
~the the suggested pkg(that didnt have a pkg file in it!?)
~the mobileupdate.dell.com/?version=GAUSB1A110100 renamed to Upgrade.pkg
When i run the upgrade, i do notice i have a different baseband (GAUSB1a110421). The Upgrade gives a FOTA model name mismatch.
i attempted to use Streak_104_4399_21.pkg renamed to update.pkg but the streak is now not reading the MicroSD card, it advises me to insert a card!
i loaded Stock recovery from android.modaco.com/content/dell-streak-streak-modaco-com/316229/19-aug-streak-2-1-downloads-how-tos-rom-superboot-recovery/
Every recovery image i have used loads but im back to square one.
After reading the sticky i kind of expect this to be either trolled or deleted but i have to take that risk
yay for a new error!!!
assert failed: write_raw_image ("/tmp/boot.img". "boot")
error in /sdcard/update.pkg.dec
(status 7)
if you can get it into fastboot then you can flash the files from modaco again. in the right order and all 3 of them. maby some corruption took place on your sd-card.
android.modaco.com search function didnt help,
only 6267 builds i could find are O2 branded.

sadly it now fails to load the recovery, in fastboot, it starts writing then i get 'flash write fail -i on the handset screen
tried hardreset prior to flashing ?

I am sorry if this has been asked before, but if you didn't have a clue about what you were about to do (which you obviously didn't) why didn't you just leave it alone
yes, it boots to the dell screen, the two lower buttons flash. then it resets and repeats.

as long as it talks to fastboot its not bricked , so it should be revivable somehow.
this kinda things happen often with new devices and it can be very usefull to help others with the same problems out of there misery.
I have the exact same issue! My Streak wont boot past the Dell logo
I was trying to upgrade to 2.2 (official) using the method posted by Steve over at Modaco but when it came to rebooting it just sits in the Dell logo
Ive tried doing it again and again and again...
Ive also tried a factory reset but this hasnt resolved it
Ive got a EU unlocked Streak bought directly from Dell
Baseband 00
Build 4399
As I can boot into fastboot im hoping theres still a chance I can recover it but need some guidance or a little push in the right direction

I always start from the 4399 o2 which is baseband 21.
Then go to 6267 baseband 00 snd then to the offiicial 2.2 package. Have you tried this route. Also when restoring the 4399 the script I use erases the boot system etc before flashing the recovery for the 4399...
Good luck. Dont give up ;-)

you can download modaco's official 2.2 upgrade rom files and push these with fastboot. this way avoiding hussle with different basebands/OS's

I just rooted my streak as normal and now it will not boot.
When I turn it on, it just displays ''dell'' but stays there forever.
I flashed it before and it was fine but now it is stuck.
Any way I can fix this?
i am no expert, but you'll have to give a lot more information than that
16.?
2.1 ?
versions
how did you flash?
how did you root?
to "fix" your Streak, reverting back to the Update.pkg should get you back working

2.1
Build 6267
How can I flash it when there is no superboot 6267 version yet?
Basically What happened is I upgraded my streak from 1.6 to 2.1
I downloaded root explorer but it would NOT work as my streak was not rooted.
I then rooted my streak using superboot but it was for the old version 3883.
The phone did not boot after this. I then tried superboot for build 4399, same thing the streak gets stuck on the dell logo.
I then looked for build 6267 which is what I have but it does not exist.
I wanted to root my streak with the new 2.1 version but it failed and ever since I'm stuck with the dell logo.
I know I can simply reinstall 2.1 but I will have to reinstall all my apps and set my phone up again.
Is there any way I can recover or somehow go back to the build of 6267 WITHOUT losing anything or reinstalling?
The last thing I want to do is reinstall 2.1 all over again...
I just reinstalled 2.1
Works fine now only I need to put all my apps back on as well as configure/setup all the settings...
I am noob in phone flashing. but after goin thru all sources online.. I tried flashing my Streak 5.
I tried rooting with "SuperOneClick2.2", but it was not detecting phone model or so.. So I tried Superboot... after android interface drivers installation.. phone was decteced in FASTBOOT mode and message in phone showed root installed.
After that, my phone is continually flashing the buttons & showing DELL's white logo on the black background.
All procedures were followed to the dot. However, as suggested in the post & elsewhere, I "factory-resetted" the device. Not worked. I then reverted back to the Android 2.2 "Update.pkg" I had in the sd card. Update was done as usual. But the phone just didn't get ON.
That was yesterday. Well today, all of a sudden, when I tried to on the phone, it started!!!!
But new problem, the phone is not rooted. Checked out with the Android emulator. Tried the whole procedure. Went through the same steps. Problem repeated. Solved. Again & again.. the phone refuses to be ROOTED!!!
What could be the problem?
First of all dont bump a year old thread,
secondly superboot will brick the streak as it's designed for a different rom,
thirdly use the guides on xda/wiki to reinstall with a update.pkg,
fourthly there's a guide halfway down the page currently in the dev section on how to root correctly
Use superone click
One click rooting methods are not infallible. The recommended way to root is to manually install StreakMod Recovery then Superuser.zip.
I have a new streak on the 6601 build and am following the steps to move to 4399, 8105, and hopefully get to here. However, i have hit a major roadblock. When I try to flash to 4399 everything goes smoothly until the progress bar gets half way and then tells me my "Software is up to date: Rebooting in 30 seconds"
I am not new to flashing and was putting a new rom on the captivate every other day, so I'd like to think I'm good at following directions and reading the forums for help. I have found several other threads from the past months with the same problem, but no one ever posted a fix!!! I've tried every combo I can thing of, flashed different recovery's, tried skipping 4399 all together, tried using clockwork and changed the .pkg to a zip file. I've never had such a hard time getting past one thing while flashing. I'm hoping I'm just missing something really obvious and it's an easy fix, but can someone please help me!! I have read and re-read the directions and can't find anything I am missing
have you tried the official 2.2 romfiles at modaco ? flash from a pc .

Yeah I was going to but several posts say they are stuck at dell logo when trying to go straight to 2.2 from 1.6. I appreciate the idea though! I still may try it in a bit. Any other thoughts?

you also need a modified loader (like clockwork) and root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747598 to be able to flash rom files
Like a regular common or garden dumbass I updated my O2 streak using a rebel simcard to froyo today, forgetting that the rebelsim might not work.....which it doesn't of course.
So I tried downgrading to 1.6 again but I just cant get it to work! I've tried loads of stock roms from various places (4399 and 3833) and loads of recovery images including stock, clockwork and streakmod but I get different errors everytime.
Firstly I get told it cant be verified, then it wont recognise the sdcard at all, then it tells me the update.zip is "bad", and when I do get one to install it won't load past the dell logo.
I'm certainly no retard when it comes to this sort of stuff, but its all rather new to me nonetheless. I understand what recovery image you need depends on what rom your trying to install? I've tried countless recommendations from all over the internet, none of which seem to work.
Any idea's greatly appreciated as im completely stumped. I figure if I could get hold of the current o2 2.2 rom then I might be able to get that to work using the current recovery image (which i have got). Doesn't solve my rebelsim problem of course, but at least it would boot!
Like I said, would greatly appreciate some help!
http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=8221
Thanks a lot for the link, thought I was sorted but I think thats a dell 2.2 build rather than one that will work on O2 as when it tries to install the update.zip it says it cannot be verified. I can't think what else it would be anyway.
Anyone know where I can get hold of an O2 2.2 rom?
Tried using the rom found here using the 2.2 recovery
http://www.streaksmart.com/2010/12/...0c#comment-6a00d83451c9ec69e20148c6d068d0970c
But now it tells me assert failed: getprop("ro.product.fota.model")
Sigh

The fota error means you have a recovery thats not for that rom. The rom checks to make sure its flashing to whatever version of the streak it was meant for.
Put the update.pkg on the root of your SD card
Download and unzip the attached file, then flash that via fastboot
Code:
fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.6941.img
fastboot -i 0x413c reboot
Hold both volume buttons
select option 2 and it should work
(i think this recovery is for an 02 model so hopefully it'll do the trick)
Reply here if not or just try to find the stock 02 recovery.
good luck
your an absolute legend my friend, thanks so much!
Still can't make phonecalls for the time being of course, but don't really care right now, just glad it boots again!
i can still get it to fastboot but it stop at dell logo please help me. I hate using my old phone is qdl easy to use or my other option is this place called 10,000 cell phone and he says he gonna send it to dell!
Please SEARCH!!!
I will only tell you to do a Factory Reset from the DELL recovery.
If you don't know what that means then you have to search. It's answered in here a million times
First of all, what did you do to your streak prior to this? Did you flash anything? Make sure you flashed the correct amss.mbn for your baseband. If they are not in tunewith each other you will get stuck on dell logo.

There is no Cyanogen for the Dell Streak so why would you try to flash with it
i thought it ws when i read it and thats what cost me!!! (((((((((((
Ok well then flash again with something made for your Streak like StreakDroid 1.9.0, but befor you do that read this thread I leave you here
http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=9694
i have read it several times and still cant understand it completely! on how to put on root of memory card.. is there anybody i can pay thru paypal that can fix it im that desparate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! even by phone walking me thru it
That means...put it on the memory card,do not put it inside any of its folders.
i have streak droid 1.9.0 on sd card but cant get it to wor. when i try to update pkg. from sd card i get this " android sytem recovery utility gausb1a135331 to perform an emergency software recovery you will need to in microsd containing an update file (/sdcard/update.pkg) to download an update file."
you might be better off using QDL Tool and start again, I have found that it is always better to start from a working devise, there is also a video walk through to help you as well
You have to have StreakMod or Clockwork flashed to phone to use one of the custom ROMs. If you're getting that message that means our phone still is using the factory recovery image (all this is in the guide I posted for you that you claim to have read but obviously haven't).
Your best bet since you still have the custom recovery intact is to download a stock ROM update.pkg from the DELL Streak WiKi page and flash that.
I'd be more than happy to walk you through doing any of this over the phone but I live in Costa Rica and I don't think you wanna call hear, but that's up to you. I wouldn't charge you anything of course, mainly because the call wouldn't be cheap.
oddbubble when i click on QDL tool link that page says "error 404 page not found" ive looked every where for QDL tool and no luck!!! @cdzo72 $3.00 a minute to costa rica WOOWW
streakflash will do the same thing, its just meant to be used for bricked devises
Pre-requisites to flashing ROM:
1. Have small amount of technical ability, not much really.
2. Be able to read and follow instructions, lots of this ability is required.
3. Know how to use Google Search.
4. Tie your own shoes. Really says a lot about you if you can do this.
5. Walk and chew gum.
If you do not posess any of the above, a brick is usually what you get. Again try searching. The answer to your question is out there, because a thousand other fools have asked the exact same questions. Plus side to searching is keeps the forums free of clutter.

To install StreakDroid you should use StreakMod Recovery. It sounds like you still have the stock recovery installed.
.pkg files install with stock recovery
.zip files install with custom recobery
fix it i dl 353 pkg and recovery and it works NOW that for all your input fellas
Hey man happy for you... NOW that you know how to revive it then do A LOT more reading and in a few days you can try to flash the good stuff again (StreakMod and StreakDroid)
hello everyone, i just got an unlock streak to use with t-mobile. im the second owner but the other guy said he just received it as a replacement from dell. this are the specs
baseband:GAUSB1A140514-US
build number:2.2
my problem:the phone is unlock so when i put my sim and boot i get the led flash 3 times and then goes on a boot loop. and it will keep doing it unless i take out my sim. i manage to get it to somewhat work by booting w/o sim, then put phone on airplane mode then off. place sim and boot. then i take it off plane mode and quickly turn of data. then wait for it to recognize tmobile towers, then turn on data and it works for a few mins then goes on a boot loop again. has anyone had this issue?
my second problem is i try to flash several GB base roms and it flashes but i get a lot of FC and cant run the rom. I currently have (miui 2.3.2 ENG DS5 ) and it runs fine w/o my sim. as soon as i put my sim its back to the boot loop.
btw i am not a noob to android, but am a noob to the dell streak. any help, tips, comments is appreciated thanks.

You need to flash gingerbread baseband files which are amss.mbn and dsp1.mbn through fastboot.
If you are not new to Android I'm assuming you have fastboot and adb drivers setup on your computer and/or the androidsdk installed to the C: drive and paths set to make command line flashing easy... if not then now would be the time to get all that done, if not then you will be back every other day asking for help and getting flamed..
on a side note, had you bothered to read QUITE A BIT MORE the answers I just gave you are provided in the stickies, not even much need to search really, so please don't be one of those newbies that starts a new thread or posts each time your Streak hiccups, ALL the info you need has already been gone over more times that I care to remember
Your baseband indicates the Streak at one point was running 405, the beta Gingerbread build. It's no wonder you're having problems given you're attempting to run Froyo with a beta Gingerbread baseband.
Where this Streak is used, it's best to flash a stock ROM first to ensure the Streak works properly. 407 would be perfect for this as it's the stock Gingerbread build but you could also use one of the stock Froyo ROMs as well. After flashing the stock ROM and making sure everything is working, then go to your chosen ROM, using the information in the stickies.

thanks for the reply, so then what you are saying is that the phone was on GB at one point? man, i knew this guy tryed to flash a dif rom before he sold it. He told me he just got it replace by Dell and decided he didn't want it. i fixed my second problem but im still having the issue with the phone rebooting when data is turned on and then freezes at boot screen.

correct i do have drivers and adb in my PC and this is not my first time using adb commands. and yes i did bother reading many threads and using the search tool and found lots of great info but nothing pin pointing to the same problem im having with the phone not liking it when i turn my data on.
Btw i figure out why non of the GB roms were working, when i was doing the factory reset i was only doing it through streakmod recovery. but when i FR on the previous menu it worked.
i also made the diagnostic test through fastboot menu to test the sim and every thing else and everything is fine
Sorry for the late reply. I believe your data issues will resolve themselves by installing 407. From there you can install one of the custom ROMs.
hmm ok ill try that
