Anybody know how to watch itunes movies on an android? It seems the only way is to pay for a DRM removal but it seems so unfair that I cannot watch movies that I paid for on my device!

but this looks good, great find soloxp!!!

That's why I don't use iTunes. $10+ for a movie you can only use on certain devices, vs $2 or so for the used DVD from Amazon or wherever... The price is just a minor issue, but the fact that they control how you can use your purchase is ridiculous IMHO.

I totally agree, but really this is iTunes issue, not Android issue. DRM is evil - Apple should be the one taking these complaints

Thats correct. You are paying to rent them.

The UI seems nice. I've been using Handbrake on Ubuntu and Windows (and OS X when I had a Mac) (converting to mp4, not mpv).
I'll check this one out next time I'm on that side of the hard drive.

Yes I am in no way blaming android. I'm frustrated with apple but thought that if anyone would know how to get around it xda would.

Yea, I know. I don't often buy movies as renting is good but I was given a voucher. It is sad when you you realise that, as the previous poster said, you are just rentig your purchase. There should be some law against this.

The Netflix service itself has not yet been activated for mobile devices due to a DRM issue and that is why the leaked apk can only assess the system. I know that the link as already been provided to my previous thread, but feel free to post any questions there and I'll try to update everyone.
Hope that helps.

This kind of stuff pisses me off. It is one of the main reasons that I will not get an iPhone. I have a 2nd gen ipod touch, but my wife got that as a gift and I haven't picked it up since I got my Dinc. Especially now that I'm running Protekk's CM7 Rom
I just hate when big companies corner consumers to force people to buy their products and not someone else's. Too much of that going on these days, especially in the mobile and PC markets.

Actually the issue at hand has more to do with the production companies who would love any reason to back out of their contracts with Netflix and sue them. Essentially they won't let Netflix release anything if it even has a chance of being pirated and given Android's open source nature they need hardware DRM since they can't bake in the software DRM as in iOS and WP7.
Hope that provided some clarity.
i would think there would be someway hide the fact that you are accessing it with an android phone, make it think you are on a laptop or something using silverlight. i really have no idea how this works, or what it is that tells them you are on a android device, but with all the different types of emulators seems like someone could emulate that.
I would love to blame Apple as it is so much fun, but unfortunately this is a DRM (digital rights management) issue. There is a feeling that Android devices are too open source. (laughable since the pc is the #1 route for violating that with access to torrents and p2p). The windows based phones also have netflix. Netflix itself would love to get their app on Android phones as it can only increase business, but they must get past the issue of DRM. I'm waiting patiently as well.
How ironic is it that there was an ad for Netflix in my view of this thread
Anyways, we will get Netflix. I think the demand is too high for them to ignore.

Possible to play iTunes purchased video content?

I have literally over 500$ worth of videos on iTunes. I am trying to find a way to be able to play them back on the Xoom. Seems DoubleTwist won't copy over DRM files. Is there any program for free/purchase that can do this? I don't want to have to buy a iPod Touch just to watch iTunes on the go.
The only way to do it would be to remove the DRM...which for itunes videos I believe can only be done using a special program on a Mac...
Apple looses again.
Never buy DRM. Apple has successfully locked you in to always using apple software just because you paid so much for content.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
You just need to search around on the net, there are some programs that can do it with a PC. You can either purchase some, or there is one free one called requiem that you can use, but it only works on specific versions of itunes. Its a java based program and can strip the drm off a 2 hour movie in about 10 mintues.
I'm honestly surprised you didn't go for an iPad first. It just seems like you are someone that would have...
I've just swapped from an ipad to the xoom & transferred my music videos straight from the iTunes library on my PC to the video folder of the xoom & they all play straight away. I tried to copy a movie over but couldn't get that to play though. Don't know if it makes any difference but are they stored in the correct folder?

The only "purchased" content that I have in my iTunes library are digital copies of blurays that I own anyway. I d/l my music from MP3VA ($.15 per song) or rip them from my CDs since I would NEVER EVER pay $.99 for one song or $9.99 for a digital video file.

Define "works." Works as in you're able to sign-in to your Netflix account, purchase movies, and then watch them? Netflix has always worked on various phones but no one using an APK version has ever been able to connect to the Netflix servers and actually do anything. It'll be great if it does in fact work on the SGS2.

Well, holy crap. I'm guessing whatever bizarre DRM requirements Netflix is demanding are built in to the SGS2 already in preparation for inclusion of Netflix on carrier-branded phones. More bragging rights

Has anyone heard when the GT10.1 might be getting Netflix? Or Google Movies?
I love this tablet, but I don't like the lack of optimized tablet apps and the missing Netflix. I'm debating whether to hold onto this tablet and wait because I really do love the look and feel of the tablet and of Honeycomb or if I want to return it for an iPad 2 and come back to an Android tablet in a couple months (or a year) when there are more apps. So...that's why I'm curious about Netflix.

Personally speaking, the current Xoom functions as a laptop replacement and more but it all depends on what you expect to do with it. You've heard from at least one person who disagrees with me, but many more would agree. It's an amazing piece of hardware and will only become more functional as more apps and customizations are created for it.
But do as you like.

Couldn't agree more. I have the latest Team Tiamat Moray ROM on here with Bazar617's StockRed UI, and with the current crop of apps, I believe I am getting value far beyond my original expectations. The development community that is behind the Xoom is going to make this worthwhile for a long time.
They are $329 from amazon, a damn good deal until the quad core models are available.

It's unrealistic to expect any tablet to suitably be your only computer. I have my high-powered desktop to do all that downloading, ripping, file conversion, storage for streaming, and for adb, etc...My Xoom goes everywhere with me, something I wouldn't do with a laptop. not yet, see what the Xoom2 or Xformer 2 has to offer. The browser still is garbage and it will annoy you if you want to surf with browser. the HDMI sound is in mono which is also terrible if you want to hook it up to your flat screen. I love mine to death but will be getting rid of it once either a new one with better browser and audio comes out or another table is comparable..
I hope ICS resolves some of the annoyances.
