Gmail not syncing - HTC Aria General

Is anyone else's Gmail not syncing?

.
Working fine here...

Weird! I have 2 Arias at the moment, 1 running Sense, and one running CM6.1, both have not received an email notification and have not synced since last night!

mine was.
i found somewhere last night after a lot of googling, to go into SETUP - APPLICATIONS - GMAIL and "clear cache".
it'll just basically wipe out all the email gmail has downloaded and cached on the phone causing it to redownload the same email off the gmail servers. nothing will be lost.
gonna see how it fairs today.

Did mine last night. Rebooted this morning after leaving it on the charger overnight. It's been back to normal for me.
Must be random. I know they had server issues back on the 11th according to their app statuses on Google's site

Try this
Go to settings>Accounts & Sync>Google>toggle Sync Gmail off and on
Then you should be able to sync.

.
And it happens both in 3G and WiFi?

Yeah, its really bizarre... so, I am able to sync a second gmail account, and it works fine! Just not my primary. Spoke with ATT & HTC, now I guess its Google's turn! LOL

Google won't sync for me
I've tried all of above suggestions, to no avail. When I press gmail, I get a screen that says "waiting for sync" and then "Your email will appear shortly." Nothing ever happens, and it's been over a week.
I thought about deleting the account and recreating, but it won't let me delete it.

Stock Gmail not pushing emails.....

I am having an issue with my stock Gmail app not pushing my new emails. It just started NOT happening all of a sudden. Any suggestions? Still on stock rom 2.1
Thanks
Are you using any task killers?

i am having the exact same issue, it started today. the only way i can get my emails pushed to my phone is if i go to the gmail app and then do a refresh. i have to do this everytime i want to read my gmail on my phone. and i do not run any task killers. i am running bionix fusion. i have rebooted my phone, battery and sim pulls and nothing is fixing it.
ditto
I'm having the same problem.
Running:
-Bionix Fusion 1.1
-Project Core v1
I flashed the JI2 modem yesterday again to see if it would help improve my battery life. I'm not sure if that's the reason I'm not getting gmail pushed to my phone though.

Same here. NO task killers and have to refresh to get my emails. Only difference is I am on stock.
Had the same problem. Go to menu>applications>manage. Once there, press menu and change the filter to show all apps. Its set to 3rd Party by default. Then, find gmail, and gmail storage and clear the data and cache for both.
Open gmail and it should fix it.

Sorry, but it didn't work for me either. Bad thing is that there are no other good email apps for gmail. Maildroid is what I am currently using just so I can get notifications. One thing I forgot to mention was that it was working fine today before I downloaded Gmail notifier from the market. Deleted it, but it hasn't worked since.

Actually this fixed the issue for me - or so it seems so far.
I am having the same issue, and I also downloaded Gmail notifier from the market. I tried deleting the data and the cache as well, and so far no change.
I have stock JI6, never installed gmail notifier and it stopped working last night. Will try the cache method and report back.
Funny thing is that I have two gmail accounts. The one that's NOT tied to my phone user information works just fine and is getting the immediate push emails.
Same here no new emails are shown in the phone Gmail since last night
is Every other phone having the same problem now?

In this case, i would check settings on gmail server and in accounts & sync. Maybe try resetting the values just to deflag and reflag it.

Emails are pushing again automatically for me after deleting cache and temporary data.
Clear the cache/data and make sure sync is still on. Odd so many had the same issue at the same time though.
Still not working

still not working for me. i cleared the cache and made sure i have sync turned on. i have unchecked sync and rechecked it and still nothing.
I am having the same issue. Right after clearing the data and cache, I got notified of new mail, then it stopped working again.

Phone Won't Sync Email Accounts

Accounts are set up right. Sync is on. The phone will pick up new emails on a restart, but after that, it won't give any new email notifications. Also, if I open gmail and hit refresh, it won't show new emails that I KNOW are sitting in my inbox. Only time it gets new emails is right after a reboot. Not a clue what the problem could be. Any ideas?
I am having the same issue, especially when it comes to archiving emails using the Gmail app. I hit archive, come back to my computer an hour later, and everything is still sitting in Inbox as unread.
Yea, I am still having this issue. No emails will sync. I am fearful that I am just going to have to wait for 2.2 and a custom ROM to get a clean install and a properly working device.
I was at my local verizon store yesterday with a text issue. They said it was a known issue and being fixed on the next update. They said the text and a email sync issue both were to be fixed. They did not know what update though. IE: 2.2 or the smaller updates. Hope this helps.

I have had the exact issues usually after restoring a nandroid. I have posted this in another thread. Works for me every time.
Turn sync off.
menu/settings/Applications/Manage applications/gmail storage/force stop then hit clear data.
And do the same for gmail/force stop and clear data.
reboot. And turn sync back on.
good day.
I was having this issue and I did a *228 and reprogramed my roaming and it has been great since.

This appears to have solved my issues! Thanks!!!
I use the gmail app, but it seems to be very slow sending email. Also, the stock email app truncates ALL my email with no way to get the end half. Does anyone else have this issue? I'm rooted, using jt1134 super clean, stock kernel.

[Q] Primary gmail account syncing problems

I have not made any changes to the settings but all of a sudden my phone is not consistently syncing with my gmail account. It only syncs every once in a while and it does not sync all the unread emails.
I have tried a reboot by taking the battery out.
Can anyone think of anything else I can do? Thanks in advance for the help.
Have you checked your Account Sync settings (Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync) yet? Any errors? Sometimes you'll see a red splat letting you know an account can't currently sync. Usually, this is just a temporary issue.
I'll wait to speculate anything else until you can post more info about what you're seeing in your Accounts & Sync settings.
No errors. No ideas.

Man, we're going to need some more info. Did it ever work? What does "once in a while" mean? There's no such thing as random...
It's worked for the last 4 weeks perfectly. My phone was getting gmail faster then the gmail app on my laptop.
Yesterday I received 25 gmails but it only synced one of them. Hmm, I wonder if it could be the new gmail "priority" email thing since the one email that did sync was a friend and the others may have been ads. But I don't see a setting for that.

Yeah, I'd look into that whole Priority Inbox thing. I'm not using that at all because I just don't need it - and I run my own business and still don't need it. It sounds like something "superficial" is at play here. If you weren't syncing you'd truly just not be syncing - or would have errors in the Accounts & Sync area.
As far as I can tell, the whole Priority Inbox thing is managed server-side - i.e. I don't see an option for it within the Android app. Considering no one else is having a similar issue (and those who are using Priority Inbox know what to expect, so they aren't seeing an "issue" on their phone), I would suspect a setting/configuration/option as the problem; and not an actual problem with syncing.
Keep us all posted though! What users expect from software and what software actually does, are two different things...
Thanks for the help. I don't think I did anything to resolve the problem. It just started working again. Maybe it was a gmail thing.
Thanks again.

I've noticed similar behavior once in a while.. i found that unchecking and rechecking the mail sync checkbox in sync settings will temporarily resolve it.. and it doesn't happen very often.
I've always thought it maybe had to do with me toggling the gsm only/wcdma gsm auto settings as I go to and from my house and/or the combination of manually turning mobile data on and off (all battery management exercises) so I just leave mobile data on now (still have always on data off.. this was going to be my next thing I tried if it kept up) and it seems to happen less often but still once in a blue moon it'll hang..
I also use priority inbox but haven't had any other evidence that led me to believe that this was the culprit.

Emails stop syncing on Nexus S

Afternoon all,
Does anyone have any ideas as to why my Nexus S stops syncing emails after a day or two?
If I go into Manage applications and clear the data, then re-enter my account details it works again for a few days, then stops again.
It doesnt seem to make a difference if it the built in email app or a third party one.
Any thoughts?
TIA

Try reinstalling the app if you haven't yet. I was having this problem with the Gmail app and it worked for me.

No it's just connecting to an Outlook Web Access address. An iPhone connecting to the same server doesnt seem to suffer this problem.

Is there a way to reinstall the built-in email app? I have tried a couple of 3rd party email apps but they suffer the same problem, maybe a cache somewhere is filling up?...
Just wanted to pipe in and say I've noticed this as well with the built-in email client. Connecting to Hotmail via exchange service if that helps. It used to work without interruption prior to 2.3.3.
Same issue here connected to a University msft exchange account running Exchange 2010. I found the only other solution is to reboot the phone, then it start working again... for a bit. Stops working eventually though and requires another reboot. Rinse and repeat...
Nice to know I'm not alone in this irritation though... anyone clever got any thoughts?
Same problem here. Very annoying and unreliable.

Setting up facebook sync returns "Incorrect email address"

Hey,
as I realized last week that my facebook events and birthdays are not in sync, i checked the account sync's status, apparently it had failed to sync and still did. Then I deleted my sync account and tried to set it up again. But this failed too:
After entering my login data for a new integrated facebook account, it just reports "Incorrect email address". I am 100% sure this data I used is the same as in a browser.
Using the facebook account delivered with the official facebook app works, but can only sync contacts, not the calendar. Can anyone at least confirm it is no general bug to the samsung delivered account style?
Thanks!

I did, even though this should not change anything (and it didn't).
My issue is with the Samsung distributed version of the facebook sync (which used to work even without a facebook app installed)
I'm having a similar problem with Facebook calendar:
Recently I changed my email address in Facebook, after that I removed my Facebook account on the SGS that contained the old email and created a new one with the new email address. Contacts are syncing fine but in Calender no events from Facebook appear.
Going into Calender settings I can see that it is trying to sync to my old Facebook email.
Is there any way I can get calendar to sync to my new email address?

Hi guys,
I had the same problem when I updated my rom.
You probably need to clear the cache of the phone by using the 3 button combo option of the phone.

Of course I will. Since I have a custom rom (Darky Rom 10.2) I confirmed with a buddies identical phone that it is basically working, so no ( at least totally) rom related issue.
I just hope to avoid my last resort, that is reflashing.
EDIT: Solved it. Never trust those lists of system app's purpose. Apparently one of those 3 is important to register this kind of sync account, not to run it: Dlna, GoogleFeedback, Layar, MtpApplication.
As I cleaned them after setting up the rest of my phone (to make sure everything is still working, with obviously backfired), I never realized that problem, so for people that mess around with their phones, don't forget to check those messy areas (and don't forget them like I did)
Thanks for the help!
