Creaky plastic - Focus General

Anyone else noticing how bad the plastic battery cover is on this phone? Everytime i hold it creaks. Doesnt make it feel like a quality device. Anyone else in the same boat of do i have a crappy back cover?

Not creaky here...nice tight fit

Mine fits great as well. No issues.

Ive taken the back cover off at least 20 times since the 8th. My phone feels solid, no creaky feel what so ever.

Same as with everyone else, my phone feels and sounds solid. No creaks here.

only if I really try to make it creak.

maybe you cover is not snapped on all the way??
mine is also fine..

Yea i think that im going to get another battery cover. Mine is creaky towards the bottom left. Almost like its not snapping together correctly. The main reason i returned the HTC Surround was for the creaky battery cover. It gave me nightmares because i dealt with a G1 for 2 years with that problem.

never had a creak but i would suggest getting a tight fit cover for the phone. Mine is red and black and the brand is case mate...awesome cover to protect my sweet ass phone!

I've noticed I get some creak in the top left corner above the camera, nothing major though since I never hold the phone by that corner.

I would say it's a faulty cover (return/exchange the phone) or it hasn't seated or snapped into place properly even though it looks like it's in place.
It is plastic and makes the phone super light weight.

I returned mine and got one back in which the cover is perfect.
Also, the screen is a bit brighter (same settings) and the audio sounds a bit better. I also ordered a screen protector and case (smoke plastic) which works great.
The phone is very impressive now.

Body Glove Case Issues

Anyone else buy and have problems with it? I searched around after thinking I saw a complaint on it like I've got but couldn't find.
Basicly, I put it on started noticing the top was putting pressure onto the screen I think. THe touch screen got extremely laggy, unresponsivess, and just seemed to go crazy. I'm going to try sanding it down on the inside but I think that just sucks.
On top of that the phone fell out of the back/belt clip half one night and caused a nice freakin dent in my phone and allowed the battery to flip out almost down a sewer.
Anyone care to give me a positive review so I don't just throw this thing out?
Also - is it possible to buy a new physical case to replace a scratched/dented case? Not the body glove I mean the actual phone casing.

I have this case and had the same problem. I have read that many others have had it too. Honestly I dont know why a company would put out a product like this. They all should be recalled, however me being me decided to just fix it by Taking a dremel tool and shaving some of the inside part of the screen protector off, making it put less pressure on the screen. It fixed it immediately. The case does a great job in protecting the phone, just a major flaw that can be fixed if you have the time and tools. If you dont, ***** to the company and get your money back and try something else.

Yes I could see that the inside casing was a bit rough so sanding should stop the problem - but seriously that's a major issue.
Have you found that it holds the phone well though? Because I'm very upset that my phone fell out of it once already but maybe it was an error on my part and it wasn't secure enough...
I've never had the phone fall out of the body glove case.
i mangled my body glove case.
someone bumped into me and the phone fell out of the case AGAIN.
i ripped it to shreds and left it on the side of the road to rot into plastic hell.
i dont recommend this product.
I returned mine. I had the exact same issues (screen and phone falling out). It also didn't attach properly on the top left corner, it was always bowed out. I don't recommend it either.
Anyone got any else to share?
I was THIS CLOSE ( || ) to buying it. lol
Is there anything out there that's similar to it in design, but better?
returned
When all the way snapped on, mine pushed the top left corner so hard the entire screen would not respond to touch. Returned it.
My friend and i had the same issue. We just took it off messed around with it and put it back and it works fine, SOMETIMES it happens again but we just take it off and put it on.
Since there is not any other case that provides this type of protection we are keeping it. I rather my phone be safe than anything else.
I just ordered mine yesterday so I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival.
What exactly did you have to mod to get it to work? According to my readings, you just need to sand down the edges that connect with the screen right?
I may just buy the case and sand down what was mentioned. I like the design of the case..only one so far I really like.
I've been using one for about two weeks and am very happy with it. Had read about the screen pressure issue on other posts (searching helps folks), and scraped down the top corners before I put it on. Don't need a dremel tool or sandpaper. No problems, fits perfectly. The only warning is that it's a little dicey to take off once it's on -- it really fits snugly.
Yout're talking about the "sand texture" clip-on case, right? If so, yes, I bought the case too. The top cover was too tight and caused the screen issue people are mentioning. That was an easy fix by shaving down the edges that were pressing too hard (actually, I just cleaned off the coating from the plastic that was causing it... The bottom of the case however wouldn't fit at all. no matter what I tried, I couldn't get all of the clips to lock over the edges of the phone. I removed the felt lining and still had issues. I got around it by using thin double sided tape (for a temporary fix until I got a new case). I wouldn't trust the belt clip with the double stick tape though. I ordered the rubberized case on ebay and the fit is perfect. Just get that one. I sent an e-mail in to Body Glove and have had no response yet. We should all get our money back on these cases, or at least a redesigned bottom case that fits correctly. Right now it was just a complete waste of money. It's a shame, because I really liked the feel of the case.

Could you give us the link for the ebay one please!

That is the one I ordered, and the fit is perfect. The only thing I wish it had was the belt clip insert for the case included. I don't know where to find one, but I mostly keep it in my pocket anyway.
you guys want a good case that protects? check out the monaco aluminum case, it comes with a clear lens on it which I haven't removed but you could if you wanted quick access to the touchscreen. I work in the construction field and have yet to have it fall off my clip. I also dropped my tilt (when I used it) from about 8" off a ladder and it was perfectly fine. The aluminum case for the fuze isn't any more bulky than the body glove case either.

I've got one of these as well...and while it does protect the phone very well it will also lower your signal strength. I've had these type cases for the Wizard and Tilt and now the Fuze...whenever I'm in an area where the signal was a little iffy to begin with I WILL either drop the call or be unable to answer with the metal case. So, stay away from the aluminum ones if you go into lower coverage areas (and no...the slots they cut in the back to help improve the signal don't actually help.)

Bulge on backside of Galaxy Tab 10.1

I just got my Galaxy Tab 10.1 yesterday. If you run your hands along the backside of it, is there a slight bulge/bump in the center? You can't really see it but you can definitely feel it. Wondering what your thoughts were on it. As a result, it doesn't lie perfectly flat on a table surface.
Mine doesn't have a bulge. I even put a level on the back (something that I know is [almost] perfectly flat) and I don't see or feel any bulge.
Actually I dont see any bulge on mine either. Mine lays perfectly flat.
Nothing here...

There's no bulge on mine either. My thought is that the battery might be defective. I would exchange it right away.
I have a bulge on the back of mine too, between the camera and the Samsung logo. I can't feel mine but I can see it when holding it at a certain angle in some lights.

Thats the battery. All units are like that. I notice that as well on mine but its normal. I wouldnt consider it a "bulge"

Lol I came here to post the same thing.
Those bumps are the internal components
To get the galaxy tab thin Samsung just used a thin layer of plastic almost like duct tape to hold it together.
The only thing rigid on it is the glass.
Thanks for all your replies. Seems like the bulge (thanks for that mental image guys haha) may vary depending on the unit, because mine was much more apparent and wouldn't lay flat on the table. The location seems to vary too. Mine was below the Samsung logo, while between the logo and the camera there was actually a hollow space if I pressed down on it.
I did make an exchange and the new unit doesn't have that problem. When I run my fingers around the backside I do notice some unevenness across the entire surface, but as you guys have said this is normal due to the plastic they used to keep the device thin.
Got my GT 10.1 three days ago and also noticed a bump near the bottom right corner.
It's not really a bulge with air below that can be pressed. It's a really hard bump where something is sticking out from the interior.
I took some backlit pics showing a folded sheet of paper (which I believe is very straight)
I'm so stupid, I swear. I was feeling the back of my tab for a bulge when I realized that I was feeling my case. DOH!
perfectly flat on my tab

Is the back cover supposed to flex?

just got mine today thanks to a preorder from PCWorld, love the device and software is amazing... One small problem, i got the black version and theres this strange flex in the back cover, likes its not stuck to the insides of the device, when held it clicks and when you release it clicks again like its sticking and unsticking to the insides of the device!?!? Has anyone else noticed this? Othewise it feels perfectly solid and good quality.
What areas of the cover are you talking about? I dont notice any clicking except near the power/volume button area.
the whole of the back cover seems like its not stuck down to the device. It depresses when you touch it and makes a sticking sort of noise. Its not obvious at the edges but towards themiddle it just gets worse. I didnt think it seemed normal for 400 quid worth of hardware.
Well mine does not make a clicking noise on the back. The cover isnt supposed to be glued on so there is some play on mine when I press some areas but not much.

Yea, it isn't iPad feel. If you squeeze it around the edges enough it will creak...just the design I guess...

...stay tuned for Samsung's aftermarket interchangeable back covers...Only $59.00 each!!
I honestly have no flex or creaking anywhere on the case of my tab. I have really tried to find a place where I could feel or hear it too. My asus transformer has creaks and flexes all over the place and it is one of the reasons I am getting rid of it. My tab feels just as solid as my xoom, only at about half the thickness and weight.
Took it back to the store and the advisor agreed that something wasn't right. They changed it for a new one and when I got home the new one did the same thing but to a lesser extent. I guess its the payoff for slimmer devices and I will be keeping this one.

It may slightly flex, since it is plastic, but it shouldn't creek or click at all. If it does, I know in the US you could get a replacement.

Squeaking battery door?

Anyone else have a squeaking battery door? On mine its right below the volume rocker on the edge, when I press on it, it goes in a little and squeaks. I feel like it's the shape of the door that doesnt let it sit completely flush. Not a big deal but kind of annoying
Mine also squeaks...but I don't have that problem anymore after I replace it with the flip cover case.
After making sure all the notches are snapped in, my cover is completely solid. It sort of becomes one with the phone, actually.
I have seen that allot with Samsung phones. I have an Infuse and the same thing, creaky flimsy back cover. You press in certain areas and it gives and creaks. Just crap flimsy design IMHO.
Yeah I too have the creaking near the volume keys, even after double-checking back cover snapped on properly. Seems like a unfortunate side effect of not being delicate enough when yanking off the battery cover.
Didn't have this issue with the SGS2, but then again the cover isn't as big, which meant I didn't flex it as much when opening the phone up.
Ordered a OEM replacement back cover from eBay to fix the prob as bit annoyed by the creaking feeling.
Maybe when someone releases a metal backcover we won't have to worry about this ever again (although the phone would be a lot heavier!)
Can't you just put some plastic tapes on the inner back cover where the squeaking happens? I think it's nothing to worry about, it happened to nearly all phones I've ever owned
Although I would want the stylus holder to have a bit more firm snap

Just an odd question about the battery cover

Never really noticed because I've had a seidio case on since new, but my cover seems too be a bit too small. The front bezel sticks out about the thickness of a piece of paper. This probably normal just thought I'd ask.
Mine was just like that too. I took apart the phone and found out that my camera wasn't seated properly. May not be the same for you, but it might be something to look into.
Tappin and talkin kindle fire + cm9 lovely
I think this is normal and intended as it protects the screen from pressure. My phone looks like yours as far as you described it and as i wrote it makes sense as to protect the screen.
yeah thats about the best way I can describe it. The battery cover snaps on just fine, but when you feel with your finger it feels like the front part is just a tad bigger. Its not an issue I just never noticed it. I took the batter cover off and everything seems fine.
Here is kinda what I noticed, Im not talking about the gap between the two but how the bezel just protrudes from the cover on the left side.
I have the same thing, it's really annoying. Also, it squeaks -.-
