Invisible Account Problem. - Epic 4G General

I just found an account under calendars that shouldn't be there and I have no clue how to delete it, the account doesn't show up under manage accounts in the settings menu. I'm running SyndicateROM (latest) Loaded.
Any help would be great
First discovered the problem while using the calendar widget with launcherpro.

I have 2 extra calendars on mine.
They both came from my Exchange account, I miss spelled it when I first setup my exchange account, so I removed the account, then re-added it. Later, I decided I wanted to rename it something else, so again I removed it, then re-added my account. Now in my calendars, I have the current one, plus the 2 old ones. I haven't found any way to remove them either.
These extra calendars survive re-loading my ROM. I first did the add/delete when I had a pure stock phone. Since then, I have completely wiped my phone several times, reloaded several ROMs/kernels, etc. And I even reset back to factory using ODIN. Yet the calendars come back as soon as I add my Exchange account back. SO, some how these calendars, in my case, are added into my Exchange account, but they are not visible on my Outlook when I am in the office, nor are they visible on my web Outlook Exchange.
Any one seen this before or have some more insight?
Thanks,
chip

Same, i've wiped a dozen times and loaded half a dozen different roms/kernels, don't understand how to get rid of it.

[SOLVED] - Invisible Account Problem - Calendar - Exchange & Android
I'm happy to report I finally figured this one out. And good news, its a simple fix:
First, backup your calendar (we will be deleting entries next).
1. In Outlook, go to Calendar, then Right Click on your Calendar, Select "Copy Calendar".
2. Select either the parent folder (Mailbox) or any other local PST to save a backup copy of your Calendar.
3. Click OK.
Next, Delete the entries that have the "Category" labels:
1. Right Click on your exchange Calendar (default), Select "Advanced Find".
2. Goto "More Choices", and then in Categories, type in the name of your calendar that keeps showing up in Android. For me, I typed in "Work". This is ALSO the name you entered into Android when setting up your Exchange account on your phone.
3. Press "Find Now" button.
4. Delete all those entries.
5. Repeat step 2-4 for each additional names that you have showing in Android. For me, I had 3 extra calendars, so I had to do this 3 times.
6. Next, go back to Mail, right click on "Deleted Items" and "Empty Deleted Items Folder"
7. Force Outlook to do a Send/Receive so that it syncs with Exchange.
8. Now, go to your Android phone and remove your Exchange account.
9. Add your Exchange account back BUT when it asks if you would like to give the account a "name" (optional), LEAVE IT BLANK! .
10. All done, no extra calendars on your phone.
Hope that helps someone else too.. this was driving me crazy!

Question about email setup on 8125

A few months back I was messing around with MSN options and it added Hotmail to my list of email accounts on my 8125 and it gives no option to remove it. I don't want to check hotmail and never will. How can I remove this? Also, in my list of email accounts is also Outlook Email. Can this be removed also?
Select messaging, Hotmail(or whatever you named the account), menu, tools, options, touch and hold the account name and a delete option will appear. Bye Bye....
Wouldn't this technically be a question about email removal, not email setup?
But seriously, yeah, it's just as easy as tcestes says.
I believe it is a question about removing an account that was set up. Your mileage may vary.......
I've already tried that, guess I should have mentioned it. Actually when I go to Menu, Tools, Options.....Hotmail & Outlook Email are NOT even listed under the accounts. But if I go into my email and click at the upper left for the dropdown menu of all accounts, there they are.

Delete Email account?

Where do I delete the Email-account I just created just for testing..?
in message menu, click menu then tools then options.
From there select the account to delete and then keep holding down on it till you get the pop up menu, select delete.
deleting exchange email account?
I set up an exchange account, but then I decided I wanted to delete it so I could set up the webmail account instead. I have no trouble deleting a gmail account, but for the exchange/outlook account it won't let me remove it. Any advice or suggestions? I'm tech retarded so if anybody has any suggestions, can they write it so a 12 year old could figure it out? Thanks!
Figured it out!!!
If you're having trouble deleting an exchange account... try this... worked for me:
Start-> Programs-> active sync ... from there, delete your account and it should auto delete it from your email accounts too. Good luck!

I have a similar issue, I set up a "hotmail" account that uses windows live, and even if I set the windows live scheduler to "manual" it still keeps connecting and syncing the phone.
I want to remove the hotmail account setup completely (I have 2 gmail accounts set up perfectly happily), but the "delete" option in Messaging > Options (where all the accounts are displayed), is always greyed out.
Unlike Outlook accounts, the Hotmail account is NOT available via Active Sync, so I can't get at it that way.
Can I remove this account by editing the registry??
AHA!! - I think I just did it! Go into Windows Live, select "Switch Accounts", and then on the first part of setting up a new account, hit the "Reject" button. Windows live disconnects the old account first, by the looks of it.

ActiveSync and Google messed up my contacts

I have set ActiveSync (Exchange) to sync with my GMail account, and I'm positive I've ticked only the mail checkbox. Today, all out of sudden, it synced contacts too, so now I have a bunch of unwanted contacts, both on my GMail account, and on my phone, not to mention that contact pictures are messed too.
On Manila ActiveSync settings page, contacts checkbox is off but disabled (greyed out). On WM ActiveSync settings, contacts under Exchange are turned on.
This is not the first time it has happened to me. First time I thought it was my fault, but now I'm sure it's not. Has anyone had a similar problem, and knows the solution? The bug is really annoying.
Well, I didn' have the exact situtaion but something similar.... I use MS Myphone and ActiveSync to synch my Google contacts. Somehow, i ended up with duplicate contacts and some cases 3-4 copies. Here's what I did to resolve it:
*On the HD2, Delete the Activesync(exchange) account.
*On the HD2, Delete Myphone acct
*On the HD2, Delete the pim.vol file (located in root of the device). You can back this file up just incase.
*On my desktop, Go to my Google contacts online and hit the 'Find duplicate' button, deleted the duplicates
*On my desktop, sign into Myphone online account. Under contacts, hit 'Find Duplicates'. delete the duplicates thereafter.
*On HD2, create and configure Myphone and let it sync the contacts
*On HD2, create and configure ActiveSync exchange server to syn the contacts.
Hope this helps somehow...Good luck!
Thanks for your reply, but it doesn't quite solve the bug, just cleans the mess up. I want to avoid it happening in the first place.
Noone with similar problems?
Just a word of warning - don't sync your calendar with GMail if you've already got a bunch of accepted appointments in your phone.
GMail will send a brand new meeting request to everyone on the original recipients list, even for old appointments!
Happened to me when I backed up my phone, flashed new ROM, restored contacts, appointments, etc and then synced to GMail.
My entire office got spammed with meeting requests for old things like the 2009 company Christmas party!
Oh, and I also had the issue where all my contact pictures were very low quality.

I'm not sure if your problem is same as mine. Did you personally checked to sync calendar items and contacts? I select mail only, but calendar and contacts get auto-check without my permission...

[Q] Google Calendar setup on Droid2?

First, hello. First post, I'm an HTC Incredible owner (root, s-off, SkyRaider 2.2 ROM), and my wife just got a Droid2.
I'm stumped on trying to get her Google calendar to show up on her Droid2.
Accounts shows her Google account and when I tap it, it shows options for synch of email and contacts, but there is no entry for calendar like there is on my Incredible.
When I go to the option to add an account, there is no option to add a calendar to synch (not that I expected one).
So, basically, she has a useless calendar app, you can't even add entries, because it wants something to synch with first.
What am I missing?
That's strange. Sync Calendar is there on my Droid 2 and works fine. Has she set up her calendar through Gmail online yet? Might need to do that first.
Yeah, I thought that might be it, you're right, it is a new account.
I set up her calendar through Gmail on line and added one event about an hour ago.
Maybe I should just give it some time...or, maybe I need to delete her Google account on the phone and re-add it?
Yeah I would delete and re-add the account.
Yup, that did it...of course, I had to go through a full factory reset to delete that account, but after a bit of setup all over again, she's in business. Thx.

GMAIL Calendar not appearing in list

When I go to my GMAIL account setup, Calendar does not appear on the list (Contacts does). Does anyone know why and/or what I can do to make sure that Droid 2 sync's with my Google Calendar?
no worries.
Android only allows one account to sync calendar information. But, you're not out of luck. You can share all of the other accounts' calendars into the main (initial) gmail account you entered. I'm doing this with multiple calendars through the one main account, and it works great.
Go to the 'other' calendar accounts through a computer browser and share (full permission share) with the one account that is synced properly. It's easy, fun, and fulfilling!
From my research ... this solved it for me:
From a different forum ... this worked for me:
1. Go to 'my accounts' on droid 2
2. Click on 'create account'
3. choose google account
4. Follow the process for creating a new gmail acct not just adding your original to create a dummy account
5. Make sure all sync options are checked
6. Finalize account creation
7. Go to your calendar and create a new event using your ORIGINAL gmail acct not the new/dummy account
8. Save event
9. Go back into my accounts and check your original account sync options, calendar should now be there
10. Remove your dummy account from your phone
Awesome!!
Simple process and it works
