The music in the radio is much more compressed so the lowest signal there will be much loader than the lowest in Music.

FM Radio volume problem

Anyone else having problems with the FM radio volume? I have my Atom Pure about a month now, I have updated to the latest ROM and can play music and sounds at full volume.
However, the FM Radio is barely audible. I have tried soft-reset, ensured the equaliser is off, gone into the FM radio application directly (as opposed to via the O2 plus media), every thing. I have also Googled for an answer and can't seem to find any reference to this problem. I have increased the volume in the FM radio application, but it doesn't appear to have any effect.
To really top things off, I recorded the FM radio to a file, played it back and it was at normal volume!
Any ideas?
Go to "Settings->Headset Volume Limiter" and move the level to right most.
I don't have that in Start->Settings (or anywhere else I can see).
Am I looking in the wrong place?
Did you ever apply Volume Limiter Patch?
Did you ever tried to adjust the volume control on the headset?

Don't I feel the complete and utter plonker? I have only now noticed that there is a volume control on the headset itself.
Problem solved. Doh! And mega-DOH!
Is there a way to increase the volume coming out through the "stereo" speakers on the phone itself?
I find the speaker volume for FM Radio is very low

i have an atom exec and similar problem. setting the headset volume does not help at all.
but there is no issue when playing mp3. looks like the problem is inherent with the fm radio.

Audio problem with built in fm radio

Hi, Trying again in this forum as no answers in Themes and software one.
Audio booster works well with music player - really makes a difference.
But sometimes I like to listen to the built in FM radio - It's great for commuting. The problem is the sound is quite low and the Audio booster makes no difference to it. I tried SRS WOW HD but that produced no sound untill i tweaked the registry - then I got sound but no ability to enable SRS.
I know this is fairly low on peoples priority list but please, if anyone has any ideas, I'd be really gratefull
have u installed HD tweak, it has options to increase sound level and improve radio reception.
Thanks Zesper,
Yeah - tried that but no joy playing thru ear phones - it's still pretty quiet

To be honest, it doesn't make much sense as the System volume controls both music and radio and if I turn the radio up fully on mine, it'll probably burst my eardrums it's that loud.
Perhaps you have a hardware problem, but you could try a hard reset just to be sure it's not the software configured incorrectly somewhere. Try the radio out before installing anything else.
I too find the radio volume to be too low. No such problem with music player.
I have the same problem. Audio Booster don't work with FM Radio.
Probably something wrong with Dutty's V3.3 XT ROM, in my previous ROM there was not those problems.
optxperiabeta02
I got this file from a Russian website. It worked very well on my Xperia. You'll probably have to turn down the system volumes a fair bit though.

Touch HD Radio Volume Low

Hi guys,
I just wondered if anyone elses volume for the radio was pretty rubbish? I got the phone a couple of weeks ago and I am dissapointed with the volume of the radio. I have downloaded and used HD Tweak to disable the 100DB limit, but i find it is still low. I dont like really loud music, but so you get the idea of what I mean by its low, if im on the bus with it on....full volume, i cannot hear it properly.
Hope someone can help,
Thanks!
Chris
I have the same problem
I noticed it this morning on the train, I have the official radio and XFM radio. Both were hopeless. couldnt hear very much at all as the volume is too low. when I switched to the music player - too loud. So it must be the radio - any ideas?

Yeah mate, doesn't make much of a difference.
Regards,
Chris.
I too second/confirm this issue.
But what can be done? Audio booster doesn't help. If you install the SRS sound enhancement cab then volume increases but not worth because a lot of incompatibilities with volume adjustments and so forth especially in TF3D and WM player.
I have the same problem on my HD / Blackstone
It seems that the radio signal is very weak (see the 2 signal "LED" chart on each side od the frequency, on the orignal application)
they don't go any further than 3 dots out of 8
Try switching off your UMTS (or data connection) on my side, it is a bit better, but nothing fantastic

Increasing Bluetooth Headset Volume HD2

Hi i am currently using a Jabra BT530 and i find the volume too low despite cranking it up the max.
i am using the latest radio 2.12.50.02_02 radio and energy Sept 2 rom.
its using the Widcomm bluetooth stack. the voice quality is very clear but
both
1. volume i hear is low
2. the other party's volume is also low
i have also updated the latest firmware for BT530
any registry tweaks i can make to increase the volume?
cheers!
If you are willing to spend the money I recommend a custom ear piece. I tried the ha cks and none real work. With my custom ear piece I can set the volume level on the lowest setting and it is still plenty loud.

I am experiencing the same problem with my HTC touch cruise and Cardo Scala G4. My phone is also my GPS and Music player. Both GPS and Music sound loud and also scale up and down to compensate for wind noise. The phone portion does not. It is very quiet and is only usable when there is no other noise, basically indoors...
Anyone know how to up the in call output for bluetooth in WM6.5?

Custom Audio-Levels for SGSII

Hey,
So I got my SGS2 last week and I'm loving it and Android.
One thing that bothers me is that when i use the ear-phones and listen to FM radios, the lowest audio level (1) is loud for me and if i lower the volume, it goes to (0) which is mute. I was wondering if I can somehow (with an app?) add custom audio levels, like if right now its 0% 10% 20% etc, i'd like to add a 5% audio level between level 0 and level 1.
I usually watch movies/listen songs with headhphones on and i've very sensitive ears so the louder volume level at the lowest volume on sgs2 earphones is pretty off-putting.
any help would be great, i did do a quick earch on market place, there isn't an app for this afaict
bump .....
Try DSP Manager search forum for it
I have the same issue, the FM Radio is to loud on 1.
DSP Manager seems to have effect at all on my SGS2.
Are there any other solutions?

Does this work for sgs2? There's some talk in that thread about samsung devices not being supported (Volume levels of 16-30 being dublicates of 1-15).
Dsp manager works for EVERYTHING else I've tested, but not the built-in FM radio app :S Any fixes? (Wouldn't mind saving data with using FM instead of internet radios.)
