SOS! How to set up user detail on the lock screen?
That's a Windows Mobile and Palm feature, not something found in Android. Might be an app for that somewhere though.

Hello,
I have 'created' (to an extent) the first Horizontal Theme , based off of the built-in CPR file, for Titanium Homescreens on WM6.5, however I have a setback...
This theme is being developed initially, and probably mainly, for the T-Mobile DASH (HTC Excalibur/S620) which as a 320x240 screen. In order to make this work, i need a very simple background program running. This is what the program should do:
Detect a certain set of pixels on-screen, and check to see if colors match up with predefined values (much like MortScript's "ColorAt()")
If the values match up, swap UP/LEFT and DOWN/RIGHT (to emulate horizontal movement)
likewise, if it detects that the active window is the Desktop/Homescreen, it will Swap
If not, it will not do anything
This program needs to be low RAM usage, and not all that big (which is optimal for every program). The reason I have it check pixels is for people, like myself, who run SmartToolKit , which adds a 'mask layer' over the HomeScreen, making it harder to detect if it is actually the homescreen. If someone can create a better way of doing this, then thank you!
However, my main concern is getting a coder to make this application for me, without it the theme can essentially not exist. More details will be given upon contact.
If you are interested, please PM me or E-Mail me (both are provided by XDA through my profile).
Thank You all!
I am going to work on the actual theme today...
Is there anyone who could make this very simple program for me?
Hey,
I dont know if this is considered 'double posting' since these posts are weeks apart...anyways.
I am in DESPERATE need of some kind person to lend me a hand as far as making really a simple app. I do not have the environment set up for making Windows Mobile applications (i do not have Visual Studio as microsoft insists I do). The app would be:
1- ButtonSwap:
This one will check certain pixels on the screen and use them to confirm if it is the HomeScreen. If it is, then it will swap keys, if not, it wont do anything.
So PLEASE, if someone is willing to do this VERY SIMPLE task, i would be very very grateful!
Sincerely,
Max B.

I'm not sure if this exists. It's 9:09AM I haven't slept yet, and well I wanted to give out my idea before I forget.
My idea is a way to display text on the windows SPB Mobile Shell screens, an application basically. You click on it and you can modify the text, with a limit of how many characters of course, pick its color and maybe even text decoration, styling, size, etc. whatever is allowed. Then be able to place it wherever you want.
Example: John loves Suzy he wants the world to see it on his home screen. John puts "I love Suzy!" in a nice Medium sized Display Format on his home screen in red, underlined.
Now I have no problem aiding in the development of this if there is not an app with the features that I am thinking of, I need help getting started. I used to create minor apps and themes and skins and such. So I'm not cell-stupid. Plus I do web design and graphics.
So please write back and let me know!
Very good idea. Would be extremly usefull to modify the text from command line or via registry. you could then display your money Balance, system information or/and other automated info got with MortScript...
Contact the SPB Sopport ! Let them develope it!
I am looking for something like this too. I would use it for easy access to information that I always forget, but is not secret. The best I have at the moment is to make a dokument with name of the information and use an invisible link with only text.
Me and a few friends are using our phones as a dashcam in our cars, with the help of a flexible phoneholder.
Now i think it would be great if i could get a HUD embedded in the videos which is displaying the current GPS speed. And maybe the time and date, but that's not really necessary.
Is it possible to make an app like this for the Desire I would really appreciate it!
I've done this couple of times, but with two phones. On the first installed SpeedView (from Martket) in a HUD mode, so that it "projects" the current speed on the front window. The second phone is on a window stand, shooting the road and the projected current speed from the first phone.
Hello
I am GpsDvr author (GpsDvr is the application with requested functionality but for Windows).
Now I am investigating the necessity in such application for smart-phones.
Please post here if such application is required still.
Thank you

Hello
Please specify what platform is meant.
If it is Android, then it seems, such applications already exists. Take a look at "dailyroads voyager" for example.
If existing application does not meet your requirements, let me know please.
Thank you
Dear wizards of the coding.
Everytime I see my new devices I must say every purchase action depends on how much is supported in XDA-DEVELOPERS, so keep doing it.
Not sure if this is the right category to post this but as an advance user (not developer) I was thinking that could be interesting to develop an application to extend your current screen with Galaxy tab screen.
As I'm not an expert, I'm not sure if current USB bandwith will support it, but I ask to the experts to check if they see will benefit the community.
Another topic I've experienced is about bluetooth. I use to use a bluetooth earphone Sony Ericsson MW600 with OLED display. There are some devices where I can see son title or call ID name from my mobile phone. That doesn't happen with my SGT.
Sorry for the extended email and look forward to seeing these developments or threads.
Regards to all!!!

Not quite sure exactly what you mean, but if you mean using your Tab's screen as a second (or third) monitor for your desktop machine, you could do that right now on Macs - run ScreenRecycler on your desktop, a VNC client on your Tab and job done. The virtual second monitor of ScreenRecycler is shown in the VNC client on your tab.
I don't do Windows but a quick Google seems to suggest ZoneScreen does something similar.
The promlem with vnc is its slow. It moght be possible to do it over usb since it is way faster than bluetooth

Your solution is fine but I don't think VNC will be as fast. I was thinking on same way windows/mac/linux extend their screens using dedicated video ports/hardware but in that case using all potential USB bandwith for transferring such data.
It could have applications of monitor in the music industry (Imagin a DJ o composer controlling from SGT and playing other stuff on main screen), things like that.
Any hint on the second topic? (bluetooth realted to songs titles or call ID names being transferred from your SGT or Android Device?
Thanks!!
There is an application in the market called androidmonitor that allowsa phone to be used either as an extra monitor or as a keyboard input. It's $9.95 and the review so far are not good plus one notes that it does not work with the galaxy tab. With 15 minute return policy, reviews need to get better to try it.

Hi folks, my wife is looking for a new phone and here eyesight is not very good. She has been looking for a phone that can enlarge the display font. I have looked on the Android app store and can't seem to find anything and it doesn't appear to be in the Android default settings anywhere. The only phone that seems to do this is the iPhone 4. This is a shame as I don't really want one of those as I don't much like the constraints of the Apple platform and haven't got the time to get into jailbraking.
I would have thought that as PDA's are handheld computers they would have this basic function just as you do on the PC under accessibility (for the visually impaired).
Any help would be appreciated.
The app 'Spare Parts' can do this
