Hi sorry if the answer its out there, just got tired of searching, i have a samsung galaxy GT-I9000, firmware version 2.2, baseband version I9000xxjmp kernel version 2.6.32.9 rootSE-S608 #1 build number FROYO.XWJP6, my phone was working perfectly until tonight, i was going to change the simcard for my wife's and i did a factory reset, log on with my wife's google account, but then there's no network connection, it only works on wifi. i tried to register manually & automatically, but nothing happens, i swicth with 3 different simcard and nothing, even my company dosen't appear on the network list, it only says emergency calls only, how can i register back my network?

That coz jpm doesnt have your apn setting it seems. Once you do a factory reset and if your firmware doesnt have your apn settings you will have to set them in the settings.

Problem with Vodafone UK

I updated my Galaxy S with Froyo 2.1.1 I900XXJPX by patching Kies.
Now I cannot use the device in 3g mode with Vodafone (it works with 3UK).
If i try and dial a number it just hangs on the dialing symbol.
To receive or make calls with Vodafone I have to set the device to GSM only.
I have used the option to set my CSC code to XEU , but still does not work.
Any thoughts ? (was fine before i flashed it).
Mark
Flash back to 2.2 or 2.1 and see if problem is still there.
Have you checked your APN settings?
You may have to reinput this data manually if its not there to make it work again.
You will be able to find the APN settings from the vodafone website.
Settings>Wireless and network>Mobile networks> APN.
APN settings link

Samsung galaxy S mobile network not available

cannot make any outgoing calls/messages or receve them. the phone is unlocked to any network , if another sim is inserted it will get signal at all and if i search network providers and select the correct one the phone displays (mobile network not available ) message. i have tried 4 different working sims on different networks and tried switching from 3g to 2g and nothing. have tried a factory reset and nothing . I update my phone 2.2 to 2.3.3 and nothing. What i can do to fix my problem. When I call i get , go on internet i get this message mobile network not available !!!!!
If thats an update via Kies it should be correct CSC if its via Odin then its not the firmware for your area and network wrong CSC .
2.3.3 only released 15/4/11

Galaxy S - no signal

After factory data reset phone can't see GSM network and can't register. It says NO SERVICE. SIM card ok. check at another phone. What can be a problem and how to fix it?
Some info below:
fw: 2.1update1
baseband i9000xxjf5
kernel 2.6.29
build ECLAIR.XWJF7
csc i9000serjf2
p code: gt-i9000hkxbri
Have you checked your APN settings?
I can't make even phone call. APN...What to check in particular? wifi and gps are working fine. tried service mode... it says signal strength 0db.
My wifes is the same way it cant lock on a service provider after factory restore only way it works is with a custom rom cant figure it out
Contact your network and enter mobile network settings manually .
jje
flash to custom rom maybe?
it's your APN settings
just google your APN settings... i.e. i'm with Bell mobility... if I google Bell APN I will find the info I need... that data goes into settings>wireless>mobile networks>access point names
hit the menu button and add apn.... bell's examples are here http://androidforums.com/samsung-i7500/87145-bell-mobility-apn.html
they are carrier specific obviously
Hi All,
This happened to me before and I was as frustrated as you and when I was about to give up, I tried one last restoration, but only this time I did it correctly. After that, I restored 5 different versions of Samsung Galaxy S stock ROM back to my Samsung Galaxy S. One of these versions were Chinese, and everything was in Chinese.
Samsung Galaxy S had no signal was because the modem file was missing while you were performing the restoration.
Now, all you have to do is go to this page and follow the instructions to restore the Stock ROM back to your Samsung Galaxy S.
You can try to install a different rom just in case. I had the same problem and i tried to fix it applying different modems but that wouldnt work so i ended flashing cyanogenmod and back to another custom rom and that did the trick.
Even flashing back to the latest official rom for my country and operator.

No network Available

I just flash gingerbread on my galaxy s once rebooted it doesnt recognize my network, I make a network scan but my network Claro Puerto Rico dont appear.
Any guess or help??
Check your APN settings, if backed up, restore, reboot
Sent using TCP/IP
Check your csc code by either
Download nitrality from market and then go to tools
or type *#272*your imei#
Changing csc will factory reset your phone..
@ Talon: since Spetember edition, *#272.... is not making factory reset, just reboot.

You mean 2.3.5 onwards? ok thanks for letting me know.
Best to warn just in case though may not be on the latest yet
Yep, tested recently with JVR... no factory reset anymore
making things easier, isn't it?
EDIT:
originated from Click
I tried it on JVR, stock, odexed... worked without FR (speedmod kernel). Cf kernel, deodexed Ramad's ROM - worked without as well on JVS.
I'm not sure if some customized kernel/ROM will not cause the FR...
I just went to the phone company and they flashed from froyo to gingerbread 2.3.3 but still having problem the data icon stay still on letter E and start to flash on and off constantly.
When E flashes, it means, that EDGE network is available, but phone cannot connect to it. Usually, it means problems with APN settings.
Go to Setings - Wireless Networks - Mobile Networks and Access Points. You shall have some access points available. If not, try to ask your operator to send you setup sms or try so search on internet to find the setup rigth for your operator.
