i need to remove root of my tab because i got a defective unit that have some dead pixels anyways i dont know how to remove it . or atleast remove superuser apk
May I ask why do you need to remove it? You could always use rootexplorer to access the system/apps folder and delete any file you want.

how do i remove blockbuster? etc? do i have to root?
sorry for asking dumb question. i am new to android and a new verzion customer
IF you've rooted your phone, then the easiest way is to buy Root Explorer (trust me it's worth the couple bucks) and navigate to /system/app and find blockbuster.apk or whatever it's called. Click mount r/w and longpress, then delete it. Or rename it to .bak instead of .apk
There is another way to do it using ADB, but if you're new to Android it's probably a bit more complicated than buying the app. If you wanna know how to do it on adb just let me know.
edit: Also, welcome to the Android side.
lol thanks....
i think i already rooted. im using DroidXRoot to rooted the driod x. i just install root explorer and its not working.
blockbuster.apk cannot be renamed because the file system is read-only.
Do you guys know where the files for the bloatware 3G Hotspot are? I would prefer to use wifi tether vs the included app.

Hide it then. You don't HAVE to use it.
Also when you get the read only message, as was previously stated, you have to mount it as r/w rather than read only.

Just watch out what you delete...I wasn't able to update to froyo because it was missing system apps. I ended up having to reinstall the system apps and resetting all of the permissions.
Now I just use LauncherPro to hide stuff. If you are dead set on removing them though, I am sure most of us would recommend only renaming the apk files instead of deleting. While you can definitely reinstall them, it tends to be a pain. Also, I heard that removing some apps would cause a boot loop. Haven't experienced it myself, but something to watch out for I guess.
Use launcher pro to hide as well

I accidentally deleted the Conversations.apk... for future reference how do you reinstall system apps and reset permissions?
Thanks in advance,
Brandon
Instead of renaming or deleting apps/bloatware, just use "Titanium Backup" donate version and you can freeze apps/bloatware so they don't load up. This way if you want to update the phone later, you don't have to worry about things you deleted that need to be on the phone for the update to work.

I have been trying all day but Tw3oLauncher.apk(or whatever) Keeps recreating it's self.
Thanks.
YOU NEED TO HAVE ROOTED PHONE.I JUST FOUND THIS I HAVENT TRY IT SO IM NOT RESPONSE FOR BRICKING YOUR PHONE
Use root explorer(you can find it on Market)
1. In /system/app, rename the default TouchWiz30Launcher.apk and TouchWiz30Launcher.odex (if applicable) to TouchWiz30Launcher.apk.bak and TouchWiz30Launcher.odex.bak.
2. Copy this new TouchWiz30Launcher.apk into /system/app.
3. Set permissions of the new TouchWiz30Launcher.apk to rw-r--r--.
I thing that touchWiz launcher on our phone is different (in name)

id suggest having another launcher on the phone while doing this, just in case.
It's because that's treated like a system app. You either have to push it with adb or move it with root explorer and give the application root priveleges. I made a guide on how to reinstall APKs that are system level apks.
http://francoforr.blogspot.com/2010/12/cant-reinstall-apks-easy-fix.html
So I was reading on how to change my name on Google Talk and someone suggested removing the app and installing it again.
After I used a ROM Toolbox Pro to uninstall talk, downloaded an apk to install it again and its not working !
Sorry for being a noob, but how do I get it back?

One additional step, when you move the APK to /system/app make sure that you set the permissions properly. System apps need to be rw-r--r-- (644).
And reboot after setting the permissions. The app should be there.
can't acces the gtalk
after all process
can't login
I have root but for some reason I cant delete bloatware any suggestions on how to about deleting it. I have root uninstaller which worked when I had an s3 but doesnt work on my s4

If you have root, then you can any file explorer that has a root file explorer and browse to /system/app/ Delete any apk you do not want. Be careful deleting things though, If you delete the wrong thing the phone will need to be restored. Once you delete them reboot and they will be gone.
Basicall ive got root access, im trying to edit and delete some files to change the bbc weather widget but its saying i havent got permissions? :S any ideas or help?
Are you using a file explorer with root permissions?

Yeah, phones fully rooted. I'm using fx explorer with root add on and it's had permission by supersu
I dont personally use that, but i think theres something you need to tick or to get it to work properly. Maybe try googling otherwise wait for someone who uses it responds.

Apart from having root your file explorer should also have a option to mount system partition with write permissions
