Just noticed that my menu button is stuck semi-pressed in. The bottom end of the button is depressed below the front face. It still functions correctly, but does not click like the other buttons do.
Has anyone else has this problem? I am tempted to try and gently pry it up, but am curious if anyone has come across this on this phone or others.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Never had mine do that but then again I've only had it for 5 days. I would just exchange it myself because you never know if down the road the problem could return or get worse.
I seem to be having this issue as well.
I'm gonna get a eyeglass screwdriver and try prying it up tomorrow night, most likely. Will let everyone know when I am done. I'm hoping it won't be like the G1 trackball from ages past haha

Sorry for double post.
Looks like it unstuck itself... noticed that it was working properly while playing pocket legends. So I will not be taking a mini screwdriver to the button haha. Best of luck to anyone else who has the problem!

how did that happen, i am unlucky coz both home&menu buttons are stuck.
do you think it might be related with water/sweat?

I was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this issue. I am currently running the latest cyan 7 nightly but i do recall it happening 2 other times on cyan 7 RC4 and RC1. I am not at all saying it only happens on cyan, i am just showing when and how it happened. All 3 times it happened my battery was below 10% and i restarted my phone to have the issue occur. It seems as if every button on the screen would choose the exact mirrored opposite of itself on the screen. If i would press the phone icon on adw the default on the other side wich happens to be internet browser would launch. If i pulled down on the notification bar the app drawer would open and so on and so on. the only thing that was regular was when i would press an option in the main menu such as wifi or location, basically anything that didnt have an option next to it that it could switch to. after a few minutes i restarted the phone again to have the issue go away as fast as it started. It was not only in adw for those wondering it was anything that had an option next to it, such as pressing favorites in the browser and it would launch whatever is opp of it, settings i think im not positive at the moment. Oh well i just figured i would share some of my story with all of u in case it somehow starts a topic or even some how helps somebody out in any way. thanks, veritas

I work for a cell phone repair company and we recently had a G2 come in with heavy water damage. after doing the water damage treatment the phone powered on, everything working fine.
I powered it off to put my SIM into it to test the call functionality and when it powered back up the entire touchscreen was backwards, even the softkeys at the bottom.
we replaced the digitizer and that fixed the issue, so maybe T-Mobile or HTC will warranty it if its a bad digi
I've been dealing with a phantom touch issue with my shift. Pefectly centered in on the botto of the screen where it hits the phone button in sense. Its looking like a hardware issue.
My question is, has anybody else experienced this and has anybody dealt with taking a rooted phone back to sprint for service?
Thoughts?

I had a weird issue where an area (the left side of the screen 2mm strip) on the touchscreen didn't work at all. I used the one zip RUU back to stock and brought it in and they gave me a new slider (whole top portion). Just happened 2 weeks ago.
I have bad problems with that and screen protectors, especially when it's really hot and humid (like everyday here in tampa)

At first I thought it was the screen protector, but the problem persisted after I stopped using them. And then I thought it was a bad rom or rom install, so I tried 3 different ones with no change. So ill just update myself to the OTA GB and take it in for service.

Did the rooted update to GB and it seems to have gotten rid of the phantom touch issue. I ended up having to do a factory reset when I did it, so maybe that helped. Glad I don't have to deal with customer support now. There always seems to be a line when I go in.

Just want to say you're not alone, this happened once temporarily on my G2. It made pressing the "s" and "a" keys on the on-screen keyboard almost impossible!
litterally out of the blue about 2 days ago, the 4 capacitive buttons on the front simply do not respond to touch...
and EVERYTHING else is working fine, keyboard, display, trackpad, everything else is working w/o a problem...
the lights behind the buttons come on, but no response when pressed...
its currently running Unity 1.27 (since released)
ive tried the patch via CWM to remap the keys to no avail... i am going to try and get into titanium to run a backup of apps, then wipe and flash version 1.31 of unity hoping its a software issue...
the closest thing i found to my issue (DZ related) was an issue with the light sensor causing the backlght to act up, but that isnt whats going on here, so as of now im at a total loss...
any help or direction would be greatly appreciated...
Ok, I wiped, flashed and installed 1.31 and same thing... Crap it has to be HW related then...
Ideas?

If you are sure its hardware related, then try to unroot your phone and see if you can get a replacement from your carrier.

You need to buy them and replace them. They come as a set with microphone and vibrator attached. Very cheap on ebay. Middle plate has to be separated from glass to get to them.

only reason im leaning towards HW is because i already reflashed, and wiped the phone, and they still dont respond...
only problem is,im in FL-USA, and this came from canada... lol
buttons can be bought on ebay huh?
EDIT: would this be what im looking for?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BUTTON-TRAC...232?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb6a583b8
EDIT: wouldnt i be lookking at getting a digitizer? but if that were bad wouldnt i have more areas besides jus the buttons none responsive?
Can anyone help clarify the part I should be looking for?
Our even have other ideas I could test?
Thank you-

Curiously enough, my four capacitive buttons (apps/menu/back/search) have stopped working too
I take good care of my phones
HTC CRAP ??
I'll find out...
I replaced both parts... Back to working condition

And what to parts were those? I have the same issue. The button trackpad flex cable and digitizer were bad?
thanks
Keys can change for HD2? My keys are already destroyed it all the time I click on them it gets hard and harder to have the option to replace them?
Try cleaning with a little rubbing alcohol...
If not successful, you might need a new key ribbon... its on ebay... to get to it, you have to take the whole phone apart that's including glass screen... not recommend doing this yourself if this will be your first time... take it to someone that have many experience in this field

Yea my power button is gone also, the infamous digitizer, I use a combo of Button Savior and Button Remapper. Not worried about it, its my second HD2, and I'm eligible for a upgrade, just waiting for T-Mobile to come out with something worth 2years.
I see... I'm using a g2x... not worth the hype... Im also waiting...

My nephew just got the G2x for free from Tmobile, a lot nicer than I thought, I was thinking Amaze 4g but changed my mind, not worth 2yrs.

Dropped my tab while in its case. Now the volume button is weird. Its functional but its like really loose and pushed in. Its really hard to push it in. Has this happened to anyone else? And would it be safe to try and fix it with some tweezers or something?

Happened to me as well. It's only pushed down on one side though so I haven't attempted to fix it.

Yes, but is super easy to fix. The volume button is just a pivot that pushes two internal buttons. The pivot point mechanism is poorly designed/constructed.
To fix mine, i just popped open the case, and used a drop of household cement to glue the button back onto its pivot point. No problems since.
