The firmware version tells me it is older that JK build.
The way firmware versioning works on Samsung devices
First later is the year starting with A being 2001, so we are in the J year 2010, the next letter is the month, January is A, so now we are in November K month.
JJ is 2010 October build.
and obviously the number corresponds to the # of the build within that month. they used to use a letter for that too, but i have a sneaking suspicion that they were worried about what would happen if they had 11 official builds next november, and changed

yeah the number is a revision number for that particular build.

These were the same type of "reports" we saw when we waited for the release of the phone. they all said "march 21st, march 22nd, CTIA conference we'll here something". yea, then over a month later, after hearing NOTHING, the phone finally released.
the froyo builds have been failing testing at VZW recently, so at this point, based on their testing time frame and release time frame, i'd say we're about 3 to 4 weeks away from getting the OS update, once they start testing the next one (whenever that is), and pending it passes. that's usually about how long a standard test cycle lasts, unless they get a build with very little in the change log and they might shorten the cycle.
Or is it the DI07 update?
G27..H..I07...?
This is how Samsung has always named their releases. It's supposed to correspond with the month. All the information about the letter pattern can be found at SDX, I don't remember how it works off the top of my head.
correct.
g27 would be august 27th
i07 would be sept 7th
It looks like work has officially started on the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Cyanogenmod as per a Twitter post last Tuesday.
It's slated for a January release, so something to look forward to after coming down from the Christmas/New year celebrations

Link is wrong, has http:// twice!
Oh god, can't wait! But don't forget, as someone pointed out in the comments: it just says "check back", not "CM9 will be finished" in january - could be a beta release.
I honestly dont think he was being specific about a release date

True, but going off past releases hopefully it wont be too far off.
2.2 SDK was released May 2010, and a RC of CM6 came out in early July 2010.. stable by August.
2.3 SDK was released early December 2010, RC of CM7 was released mid Feb.

Yes but Google changed how the source code was released with ICS. No longer are they adding the needed device library files. Those have to be built from scratch or provided by the devices manufacturer

Build numbers but no description... very cryptic. My first thought was that they might have one for Project Fi, one for TMobile, and one for all others. But since they have only one Marshmallow build for N6 that works for all 3 maybe that's not the case.
According to AP's build calculator
"MDA89E is Android 6.0/Marshmallow, dated at approximately September 27, 2015."
"MDA89F is Android 6.0/Marshmallow, dated at approximately September 27, 2015."
"MDB08I is Android 6.0/Marshmallow, dated at approximately October 8, 2015."
Going to say... 2 builds preparing for the announcement/demo (perhaps a quick last minute fix in the second?) and a build with some fixes to ship out on the phones/previews.
Is it odd that the binary blobs aren't up yet???

I've got E on my device, so looks like the latest is I, I guess at some point we get an OTA update?
Regards
Phil
Maybe it has something to do with Android Pay being preinstalled, its available in the US but not in other regions, perhaps until it is rolled out worldwide, google will have to maintain separate images, mine is an MDA89E in the UK.
I'm on E also in the UK
im on E as well.. in the US, on VZ.. so much for immediate updates.. sheesh..
Leaks suggest that August 20 2018 Google will release Official Android P.. name is still unclear but it will be the name of a dessert (treat) starting with P.
Last few Android major releases were all released at about this time in August, so this makes sense. Then we will get a .1 bump when Pixel 3 is released in November.

If I remember rightly Oreo was released on 21st so makes probably would call this leak legit
Seems about right. Google said it would be released in the 3rd quarter and last year Android O was released August 21st.
Official Android p is coming this month signs of release
Now I've been paying attention to Google I know every month on the 5th Google releases a security patch update well I believe that Augusts security patch will only be included in the official Android p update coming later this month on the 20th..
